I bought my condo in PTown 6 years ago and it was the best decision I have ever made in my lifetime. Every time I come I feel so blessed and grateful. It is such an amazing place. My favorites for dinner and drinks are the Red Inn and Pepes. Love your content! I'm heading to DC this weekend and plan to check out the places you recommended.
Thank you!! And congrats! What an amazing investment and lifestyle purchase in one! On my (Trai) very first trip to Ptown, a friend hosted a paint and wine tasting outside at Red Inn which was fabulous as was our dinner there! Also, love Pepe’s! Thanks for sharing! And safe travels to DC 🙌
You guys are the cutest! We'll be there for 6 weeks in our airstream in a few days. Then we'll be headed Sawmill in FL for a month - thanks for both great videos. xoxo
@@brucesanborn9578 we haven’t although one of our neighbors in Tulum moved there recently. It sounds interesting to us for sure! We’ll message you for sure for tips when we can make it over!
I lived in Ptown for a couple of years in the 90s. An unforgettable experience, especially in winter, when all the colors are in pastels and you didn't have to use much imagination to see how it must have been in its days as a whaling and fishing village. If you have the time and money (or a remote job), go for the season May 15-Sept. 15 (used to be anyway) and really get to know Cape Cod. Unless tyour biggest reason for vacationing there is nonstop partying, the best time to go is between Labor Day and Columbus Day, fewer tourists and still beautiful weather. As for those nonstop parties...well, the bars close at 1 A.M., so big city life ir ain't...but trust me, you won't mind, the place is too beautiful to sleep late.
You should have seen The Shipwreck before it became The Brass Key. That was a crowded old guest house to stay in, with Rosie leading the fun every morning. There were hat parties. May I recommend, as a Cape Cod kid who’s done Ptown for decades: John’s Foot Longs, the hot dog stand right on the pier, always has great fried clams, fish and chips, and lobster rolls. That’s always our first meal in town. Trust old local places for the best classic seafood. The Lobster Pot is essential.
I lived and worked at Fire Island it’s a must visit all are welcome there as well. Never been here would love to visit one day. Although my drinking days are over 14 years sober I’m sure they have plenty of non alcoholic drinks. No longer living in New York but close by in Ct which I currently just bought a beautiful home. Thanks for sharing this I always wanted to know what it looked like and things to do there. Have a blessed day!
I been going to PTOWN for over 40 years. I would like to add to restaurant recommendations FRONT STREET on Commercial Street. You need reservations during high season. Another recommendation would be Mistralino on Bradford Street and you can’t beat breakfast at Liz’s Cafe also on Bradford Street.
Thank you for sharing your trip to P-Town. I’ve been going there since the early 80’s and it hasn’t changed that much. Except it is much more expensive, lol! Two other things I like to do are bicycling thru the dunes over by Race Point and the incredible whale watching trips! I’ve run into John Waters, Norman Mailer and Lady Bunny!!!
Gosh, I ❤ Ptown! There's a lot of partying, of course, but the Cape Cod National Seashore is a beautiful place to spend a day if you need a little bit of a break.😊 PS. Those Planter's Punches looked heckin lethal!🍹🍹
Forgot to mention when I worked at Fire Island at the pines it was my first time learning what tea time was. I also got to see Candis Cayne perform every night and also cleaned her room she was fantastic and absolutely very Beautiful.
Hah! The only time I visited P-Town it rained almost the whole time I was there (long weekend). It started just after I got off the ferry and met with friends to go to the Tea Party. Of course, the bad weather ended before I boarded the ferry back to Boston. Suffice to say, I didn't get to the Boy Beach or get to enjoy much nightlife. I did catch a great show with my friends, but the weather made it miserable to walk outside. Maybe one day I'll visit again and I'll have better luck with the weather.
Hello! Great video. I was wondering if any of the nightlife activities discussed allow people who are under 21? My friends and I are going to P-town this summer and are looking for some alcohol free things to do :)
That’s a good question! The clubs likely no but hotel events and bars likely yes, as no door man per se! We recommend confirming on websites for each venue just to be sure!
On our one-day visit 😢 at Halloween, our friends acting as tour guides took us to Lobster Pot. We enjoyed it, but I can’t compare to any other restaurants. But I will on a future trip!
Given the trek to get to PTown, for sure at least 2-3 nights. A week could be fun with a group of friends or if you really want to relax and take it all in… many groups we met rent an airbnb for a week from Sat-Sat which makes it cost effective. A hotel for a week would be insanely expensive. For us, we find better value outside the U.S. in Mexico or Spain for example, so a week in PTown would not be in the cards for us. Hope that helps!
You neglected to mention there are other things to do besides gay activities. The biking is first rate. Rent a sailboat. Ocean beaches also nearby if you want waves, but be careful of seals getting too close. Whale watching. The monument. It has become very circuit oriented over the years, but the place is authentic and charming. And outrageously expensive real estate. Prob worse than nyc.
Thanks for sharing! Our focus is gay hotels, beaches, bars and clubs, but agree with you, there is much more to do. There’s a reason P-town is packed with straight day trippers during the day!
Boston and Ptown are VERY expensive housing markets. Shockingly so. But we’re coming from Chicago and Mexico as recent points of reference! Beautiful tho!! Definitely worth checking out if in your budget!! 🙌
Absolutely! Really open to everyone. Also, check the themed weeks. We were there at the end of Bear Week so very male oriented. There’s also Women’s Week, Family Week, etc!
@@TwoGayExpats the monopoly of it all. But thanks for sharing in your video. I’m contemplating going to Provincetown from New Zealand, but everything is adding to be about 10,000NZD for like a week.
@SamSmithVev0 yikes! LA/Palm Springs or Puerto Vallarta might get you more bang for the buck as we’re rolling into shoulder season. For P-town, you can also take the bus to save on the ferry (but don’t do it on Friday afternoon due to traffic)! And they have beer tents for $5 cheap beer at tea at Boatslip as everything else is crazy priced. Take a picnic to boy beach. Just a few ideas to save!
Do they even make 151 anymore?? They won't sell it in CA. & I knew a place that didn't have a button for it so they'd have to just charge me for a well double, it was the best scam of all time!
This is one of the few gay places that everyone seems to talk to everyone! We love that. We’ve seen it at coffee shops, drag shows, sing alongs, eating alone at the bar. You’ll be in a safe space! 🙌

Provincetown was always families by day, LGBTQ+ by night. That was always the fun part of PTown.
100% and you still see the day trippers in mass on commercial street! But at night, P-town is your oyster starting with tea! 🙌
8:07 I had a room in a house for $25/week across the street from Boatslip. 19 20. Had a gig at the Lobster Pot singing recycled Streisand
Wow 🤯 bet you have some incredible stories to share! 🙌

How’s the water? Is it pretty cold?
It seems like a cozy town !
Very cold 🥶 but we’re used to Mexico lol 😂 🇲🇽 ❤️
Is PTown a year round party or only certain times of the year?. Whats it like when not party time?
Definitely summer time is season but more chill off season
Sweet! Looks like you gentlemen had a great time.
We absolutely did! ❤️ Thank you 🙏
I learned about p town from Bear city 2 the movie nice movie I hope to visit there with my boyfriend someday
I’m planning to visit for the last week of April but having a hard time finding lodging 😕
Yes, P-town and PV are always so popular they book very far out :(
what a vibrant little town! im straight girl but i wanna go!
You’d still have a blast! Lots of great live entertainment, delicious food, cute shops and galleries 🙌
How can you talk about gay life in P-town and the Boat Slip without mentioning the late-night activities under their deck?
Yes, if you haven’t met someone on the dance floor at A-house, there’s always this option 😈 thanks for sharing 😉
