We know exactly how to hack our biology in order to live our last years full of energy, vibrancy, independence, and life. Many wonder how I have managed to stay strong, healthy, and youthful at 63 when many of my peers are winding down. So, in today’s episode of my series I’m calling Health Bites, I am talking all about my personal longevity program.
What I’ve discovered has blown my mind and changed the way I approach my own health and the health of my patients. I’ve compiled it all into a new book called Young Forever, which is out now. Learn more and order the book at youngforeverbook.com.
This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health and InsideTracker.

I’m 63 y/o and no grey hair, no wrinkles and no dark rings under eyes, I’m on low income so nothing fancy. I go to sleep at 9pm, walk (no car), eat plants and fruits (can’t afford meat), take supplements D, E, B, CoQ10 and go to Senior Ctr for free yoga, tie-chi and Bunco.

Hey doc. Science is telling us to not use cold therapy for at least 4 hours after training for hypertrophy. Cold therapy reduces inflammation and inflammation is part of the repair process of the muscle. Its great for recovery if you need to get back at it tomorrow like professional athletes. I always do cold therapy the morning after (I workout at night). All the best and thank you for all you do.

Dr. Mark Human, MD and Dr. Robert Lustig, MD are my two favorite experts on mitochondrial function. The two of them have such wonderful advice and knowledge that they share with all of us via their videos and books. Between the two of them I have quite a stack of books, some of which I have read twice! I am trying my best to eat properly every day from now until the Lord calls me home. I shudder to think of how much sugar I consumed in my earlier years, so I know this way of eating and taking care of my health is far superior to any advice I have ever received from any of my physicians. All good doctors, but like Robert Lustig, MD and Mark Hyman, MD have pointed out ~ medical school does not even address proper diet. They are only trained to dispense pharmaceuticals. I only wish I would have received this education thirty years ago and have avoided some of my current health conditions. But the positive spin on this sad history of eating the wrong foods, I now know what I SHOULD be eating and avoiding and I have a good shot at course-correcting the damage I have done from eating so many transfats and sugar in my diet for many years. Please keep your wisdom, insights, and research findings in your videos, Dr. Hyman. I watch your videos every day.

Hi Jordana, he is very inspirational and amazing but for myself, I try not to eat more than two to three meals a day, no snacking ( a tuna sandwich from subway a couple of times a week is my idea of junk food), a good multivitamin and probiotics, sunscreen, water, green tea, organic coffee, if you can cook, home made meals are a big help. Being Portuguese descent I naturally prefer a Mediterranean diet, my husband jokes that my sandwich is an excuse for a salad, all pastas can have veggies added to it, a fried egg sandwich on ezequiel bread can be loaded with veggies and nutrients, I hope it helps, lentils, chickpeas, etc.

No one stays young forever because of imperfection the human body get sick and we die. We can try to stay healthy for as long as possible but the inevitable happen, I'm fed up with so many of you out there thinking it is your place to tell the world what to eat and not to eat it has become your life seems you can't help yourself how arrogant, stop babbling on about mundste things most of us don't care about many of us will eat what we want to eat trying to eat as healthy as our finances allow. You live your life the way you want and stop telling us how to live ours how dear you

Why are you watching then? Seem like a obvious way to solve your issue - stop watching. And it will reduce your stress levels too since you seem to be getting worked up....

The idea not to do weight training at your age because you might injure yourself suggests you don't know what you're doing in the gym.

Hyman looks like they just pulled him in off skid row. And he’s only 63! Maybe he’s focusing too hard on longevity. Just keep the carbs low, focus on quality protein and saturated fat, get that early sleep. Forget about the meditation and the plants. It’s not working Doc.

Mark ..dude you’re always “all over the place “ in every aspect of your personal training Peter Atilla MD former competitive cyclist does THE SAME structure work out each week . The “two million dollar guy “:you site for simplicity does THE SAME workout everyday , no Berkshire cycling , BANDS , heliskiing . Meanwhile your biochemistry MAY be a 43 year old, but DUDE compare how you LOOK NOW to just 3 years ago and be honest with yourself .
