Had what was called sludge in my gallbladder and let dr take it out with getting no warning about possible issues including severe stomach pain, dry skin and vision issues. Wish I would have known the truth before hand. Thank you Dr Berg for helping us with these problems.

I’ve known this “innately” for over 25 years - just based on the symptoms u sited - since having my gall bladder removed in 1995. You are the first doctor, in all these years, to acknowledge the truth. No offense to u personally, but my experience has convinced me that doctors are just politicians with scalpels. I keep my distance now.

I had mine in 1995 too. I was so sick for about 18 months post-op. At a class reunion I was telling a friend of mine about it & she said I needed to tell her husband about it. He is a surgeon. So I did & he immediately said I had “post chole syndrome & wrote me a script for Questran. Changed my life. However the effect gradually wore off & I ,until the past year, suffered with IBS-D. I was diagnosed with a rare cancer & went through treatment & major surgery which somehow affected my symptoms & I haven’t had any issues since. My last CT showed my fatty liver has resolved. Looking back I don’t think I needed a chole. The stones were found during an related test & the doctor said I should have them removed so I did. Big mistake.

Over 20 years ago, a doctor wanted to remove mine. Without running any tests. He wanted to remove it, because I said I wasn't sleeping well. I realized he was up to no good by intuition. I still have my gallbladder today. No regrets.

I had my gallbladder removed ten years ago. I was told to not eat spicy or greasy foods. And that was it. I am now 2 months short of 70 years old. Three years ago I started having problems with severe bloating and belching. I was so swollen that I got new stretch marks and could barely fit into my elastic waisted skirts and slacks. When I went to my doctor he told me it was just Irritable Bowel Syndrome and to eat more fiber, which was the worst thing I could've done as I was already eating a high fiber, low fat diet and had been for many years. Eventually the pain became so severe that I went to the ER. After running some tests and finding nothing, they referred me to a gastroenterologist. Through further tests and medical history it was discovered I had SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth). I was treated for that. It cleared up, and I felt like a new person. But two years later it is back. I am now doing the bile salts and intermittent fasting regime. It is not completely healed, but I am doing a WHOLE lot better. Ask your sister if she has been tested/treated for SIBO. The difference is like day and night. A good way to tell if she has it is if she eats and then 60 to 90 minutes later the belching and bloating starts.

I was rushed to the hospital and admitted. After a battery of tests, my gallbladder was basically a rotten piece of meat and I had gone septic without presentment of jaundice. The bad part, I stood a good chance of dying. I was knocked out with pain meds and antibiotics pumped in me to fight off infection. On the third day they operated without cutting me wide open surviving the surgery. That was 2013, made a full recovery and have had no problems since. My doctor discussed diet and how it will affect me and I will know what I can and can’t eat.. insofar, been lucky to eat normal and enjoy food.

Twelve years ago I was told my gall bladder was diseased and needed to be removed. I immediately said no. Was told the gall bladder never heals when it is at that point. A bit over a year later, new tests showed my gall bladder was okay. I had changed my diet, and also changed the facility that had tested me because the doctor often does what the lab tells him to do ... and it is my firm belief that some of the interpreting doctors at the labs easymode everything. So, when getting a ''second opinion'' on surgeries, do make sure that includes a second lab. I don't know if in my case that that was the real difference, or the dietary changes, but the moral of the story is: don't be too hasty, take some time to look around and talk to others, and let your body heal itself.

They didn't say as much, but for as long as most people are waiting for surgery right now, I'm pretty sure it was about to burst, fail, go septic, whatever. I think this was very needed to know info. I know someone who had that surgery, which is solely why I watched, to pass it on to her, in case she's not aware of this. I can't imagine a hospital not giving you this info, it's sickening, it really is. What are they looking for a repeat surgery, this time its the liver. That is not looking at the total well-care health of the patient, pre-surgery.
Years ago I had a different type surgery, and I did have good doctors, and nurses. Upon leaving they gave me a complete list, of things to avoid, things like food that were best, and other aftercare things. It's like I appreciated that list, as much as the surgery. I was glad to have them. I follow doctor's orders because they know more in that field than I do, and so I followed that list, and was healed. I commend my hospital for giving that needed info out. And the same should be for gallbladder, instead of sending them home, clueless, of what to avoid, and get sick. That defeated the purpose of what they came for. "First do no harm", is the doctor's oath.

This topic is how I found you! I was going down fast after about five years without my gallbladder! Teeth and bones deteriorating, deep depression overall malaise....I was eating well, taking all my vitamins, but alas all my fat soluble supplements were for naught! I have no doubt this saved me from a long drawn out and painful death! Not a single healthcare (I use the term loosely) person mentioned the loss of gallbladder or connected any of the dots! I need to mention, my first improvements were from simply adding your Gallbladder Formula...the other steps came later, after I began to feel human again and like I actually might have a life worth living 😊

Stephanie Bogart. Same thing happened to me. Discovered scar tissue from surgery. It can be horrible pain for about a minute. It happens when I twist to my right when I reach for something. Don't forget there is a metal staple used to close the duct. It catches on the tissue. Lots of deep breathing and pressing on that area helps me. Wish I had known about alternative methods to having it removed. Clean eating also helped with the aftermath of diarrhea. Processed foods overwork the body.

Robin W my acid reflux increased after surgery. When my gastroenterologist would not return my calls his office staff recommended a proton inhibitor. I was already taking one and wanted to get rid of my medication. My body wasn't handling it anymore. So I went to a naturepathic doctor who tested my blood (the only way to know what is happening to the body at that point in time). The tests and results were extensive. And your primary doctor won't do these types of tests. She changed my life and tailored a program for me according to my blood work and recommended 'clean eating". To eat real food, nothing out of a box, bag or tin can. No processed foods. No additives. The digestive issues disappeared. The timing was right since my body had been fighting all the garbage I had been eating for years, primarily sugar. Eating Fake food also affected my sleep. Now I eliminated all my medication and have more energy. Perhaps you will give this some thought.

It is important to know that stones can be reversed or managed. I have lots of stones and my doctor said I’d die if I didn’t have my gallbladder removed. I’ve been pain free on keto using the Digest Aid and Gallbladder Formula. I asked the tech who did the sonogram and he told me the walls hadn’t thickened and the pancreas looked good. Try diet changes before removing it. I know the pain of a gallbladder attack is excruciating, but the lifelong concerns of not having one are worse. Gallbladder was highly inflamed. Post cholecystectomy, LFTs have returned to normal and my ketogenic way of life is still the best!

I think a follow-up video that talks about keeping the gall bladder healthy would be extremely helpful. I turn 52 next month, and since May 2018 have now lost 53 pounds (from 218.5 lbs to 165.4 lbs, and your channel has been instrumental in helping me achieve that). As far as I know, my gall bladder is working fine, but I have suffered kidney stones twice in the past, and want to lessen the chances of similar stones developing in my gall bladder that might inspire its surgical removal. What steps can I take, what foods can I consume and avoid, to help keep my gall bladder in good health?

For my first 3 days anything I drank anything I ate went right through me has diarrhea. In those three days I went to the bathroom maybe 25 times. Unfortunately no one told me that was a possibility and it freaked me out. This was the first day I was able to get food down and it stayed down so just be aware this possibility. I've also experienced pretty much all the other side effects that have been mentioned and other videos. This is not a picnic peeps. It's at least three days of hell.... but it will end.

Unfortunately for me, I was in excruciating pain and they rushed me to the hospital back in Dec 2009. After 5 days in the Hospital with tubes down my nose and throat and numerous tests, they figured out it was my gallbladder. I had no choice but to have it removed as it was diseased and no longer working,so I was told. I've had problems ever since it was removed. I have bloating, diarrhea and or constipation and pain when I eat, no matter how small the meal. I have numerous health issues now at 59. About 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with liver disease (Nash) that a CT scan with contrast discovered. I have been eating healthy for the last 5 years and over the last year, I really have no appetite. I only eat one meal a day (healthy meal), and take bile salts, liver supplements and vitamins. It's a constant struggle for me so those of you that had your gallbladder removed and are enjoying life, consider yourself lucky.

A couple years ago I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease, Vitamin D different, bloating, constipation, Thyroid dease & my kidneys were not functioning as well as they should.
I was asked by a Dr. If all I ate was fatty food's.
No infact I was eating healthy, no fried food . No fast food.
The Dr. gave me no advice on what to do.
So I want home & 1 thing I did do that seemed to help was every morning I made a quart jar of water, a third of a cup of apple cider vinegar and honey. I drank it through out the day. I also cut out white sugar, and most carbs & salt.
A year later my liver was normal & my kidneys also.
    I lost 20 lbs.

It was a decent public service video that anyone considering gall bladder removal should have a listen. Some folks tend to trust everything a Dr. tells them. And many are positively clueless about consequences. I felt it was a straightforward message reasonably short and to the point without using Latin for explaining issues. The point of the message I presume is to prepare for the consequences and if the consequences are worse opt out. Look for a healthy diet to correct gall bladder issues. Not always an option but the best option is to control with diet and exercise.

Hi Dr Berg. You are spot on. I was told that I needed to have my appendix removed while visiting the ER 20 years ago. Being that I am Native American, the doctor told me that a high percentage of Native Americans almost always have issues with sever pain due to their gall bladder. She also said that I would eventually need to come back to get it removed. She said she could save me the trouble and give me a 2 for 1 and remove my gall bladder along with my appendix. Being young and thinking doctors know all, I said "ok". After my surgery the doctor came in to tell me that I had a perfect appendix and gall bladder. She said with a nice amount of adhesion??! She told me that my problem had nothing to do with my appendix and that I had an impacted bowel. Now years later I find myself having issues that I feel I would never of had otherwise. I have terrible constipation, bloating, dry skin, blurry vision, head aches which I am just now learning may be due to having no gall bladder. Thank you for what you do. You have taught me more about myself, more so than any of my doctor's ever had. What can I do to reverse the issues that I have? Is there anything that can be done after the fact?

Certain foods go right through me now. I was warned that removing my Gallbladder could result in diarrhea. They never mentioned the types of foods to eat or avoid.
However, the hell I went through before having mine removed FAR outweighs ANY complications actual or possible!!
Before suspecting my Gallbladder and knowing to avoid fatty foods, I would have severe abdominal pains that I would compare to someone putting all their weight on a pointy stick right below my sternum and leave it there for 4 to 6 hours continuously and I continued to have them even after avoiding fatty foods. Nothing would relieve the pains accept for time - not even the Hydrocodone I had from a previous surgery would touch it.
The surgeon said my Gallbladder was over twice the size of a normal one and I had several Gallstones the size of peas to marbles and the Gall duct had been stretched to twice it's normal diameter.
For me, the removal of my Gallbladder was a Godsend despite any side-effects!

They never told me about what I will become deficient in. The only thing I was told was to watch what I eat. Yeah right, tell that to a 22-year-old. I now know that a lot of my digestive issues go back to having this organ removed. I have had a fatty liver and dealing with insulin resistance as well as weight gain that won't come off no matter what I try. I also had a partial hysterectomy based on an OBGYN's false recommendations. It's very disheartening to have to rely on medical professionals who don't care to explain and only look to make money.
