Make Your Canon Videos More Cinematic! (Canon eos 80D)

Hi friends-videographers!
For many years I tried to get the best picture from canon cameras. I have worked with many DSLR cameras from Canon. For example: 1200D, 70D, 7D Mark II, 5D Mark III, 5D Mark IV and now I have two Canon 80D.
In this video tutorial I want to share with you my experience and show you how you can get cinematic looking videos out of your non-pro canon cameras.
This method will help owners of all canon cameras, with the exception of those that already have a built-in LOG profile.
If you carefully follow the instructions that I have provided to you, then today you can shoot cinematic videos on your canon cameras.
All the links are provided below and all the steps are described on how to set the color profile.

1. Follow the link below, download the Canon Eos Utility and install it.

2. Connect your Canon camera to your computer using usb cable.
3. Turn on the camera and set it to "M" mode.
4. Open the Canon Eos Utility and make sure that the camera is connected.
5. Follow the link below and download C-LOG and CineStyle Profiles (for FREE).

6. Go to the Camera Settings / register picture stile files / add C-lOG and CineStyle into one of the tree empty user profiles.
7. Disconnect your camera and restart it.
8. Go to the picture profiles in your Canon camera, chose one of your new picture profiles and enjoy your amazing video results!

Try the "photo mode" in the little switch

Now - it's not a preset. This is like a hack of your camera which make your budget camera shoot video with flat picture profile which is also gives you room for better color corection. You will get extra Dynamic range and more accurate colors.

Log isn’t an upgrade on the 80d. The 8bit codec produces ridiculous artifacting as demonstrated

Hi! Thank you very much for appreciating the video. Yes, I usually do the color correction by myself. But for a twist I add LUT (teal and orange) and set the intensity below 40%. If you want, can I send you this LUT for Premiere Pro?

Which profile is the color rich one that is the 2nd half of each clip? You show loading 2 profiles, but only mention LOG on the clips.

Hi! Yes, the second half of each clip is saturated with color. Both of these color profiles are in general the same. The only difference is Cinestyle is softer, but they both increase the dynamic range very well, which helps with color grading.
