I have never heard this band before finding this song on Apple music. It captured me for the exact reason you mention here...those "Ahhhs" just grabbed my attention, followed by the plaintive "why do I feel this way?" Hooked me. The lyrics are really good on the verses too. What a great song!

Got a bit nostalgic the other day and said to my son, this band have given me so much musical pleasure for 30 odd years, I really feel so lucky that I've had their music alongside my life. Saw them in Montreal a week ago. They sounded fantastic, this song freakin gave me goosebumps live. The entire record is solid, end to end.
Love the shoegazer/indie rock vibe on this song! The chord progressions/melody at times mirror the lovely song Linger by The Cranberries.
I love this! I first heard it last night on Sirius XMU and they mostly play new indie music so when I saw Ride I was shocked because this sounds like the early 90’s sound you had. Bringing that old school sound today, this is badass 🤘🔥

To me, this new album is like an alternative timeline, in which Mark and Andy never had those problems with one another which led them to write "Carnival of Light" all separately, but instead continued the path they set out on with those two final songs from GBA.
Epic song, anthemic in the best way possible.

Ride are like the working class heroes of the Shoegaze scene. Great work ethic, gigs are always a blast! Much better than Slowdive with their short changed 7/8 song albums and sedate crowd
I have all the time in the world due to Nowhere and Going Blank Again but Slowdives rise again was superb and get recognition they deserved with Souvalki whilst Ridecare borrowing a lot of ideas from New Order and Ride don't need to do that remember Vapour Trail Twisterella etc
I've never gotten the appeal of Slowdive, despite having been a teenager when the first gaze wave happened and loving basically all the other core bands.
