There's a technique that I find useful for multitracking, mute the track that you're about to record and start recording and follow along the first track, it's a really nice thing to do

Listen for example to Crazy Train from Ozzy, the rhythm guitar is sloppy as fuck even though Randy was a hell of a guitar player. Same goes for Slayer, which I love and don´t mean it in a bad way... but it is what it is, Hetfield is on another level 😀
When I’m tryharding I can just about pull off riffs like blackened and fight fire with fire for like 1 minute. How tf does hetfield sing, play tremendously hard riffs for atleast 1 hour back to back, and still live? Because he’s James fucking Hetfield :)
Isolated load and reload guitar tracks don't exist. I really like load and reload. I listen to songs of these albums at least 10 times for a day. They are almost my favorite metallica albums.
The fact that you guys destroy the title of your videos by using the recorded riffs still blows my mind. You wont hear precision that way. Live is how you test precision. All these so called "riff precision" videos arent that. They are just riff montages and thats all. Studios are to much of a controlled setting meant to be that way. But if you really want to hear how precise james really is or any musician for that matter. LIVE is the only way. The variables change show to show set to set. Live is the only way to test precision.
Not all, on AJFA album unlikely someone would play it as good as other riffs. Like the frayed ends of sanity, harvester of sorrow (not main riffs, further riffs in song)
It's not about the complexity of his riffs, it's about tightness and precision. Dave Mustaine said Malcolm Young was one of the best rhythm players, even though his riffs are even simpler

The fact that in the olden days he recorded everything twice and it was still that precise is the most impressive thing.
Battery had 6 tracks, so james recorded the riff 6 times and was still insanely tight
Pretty sure him and Kirk both recorded 1 rhythm track each on Kill Em All. Ride The Lightning and afterwards James recorded up to 6-8 tracks
One post solo has 8 tracks with different amps and guitars . Said their producer

Can we just all appreciate amount of killer rifs on the Death Magnetic? Its certainly their most underrated album
The most killer riff from Death Magnetic is the one underneath Kirk’s solo in My Apocalypse or All Nightmare Long.
I was actually thinking that myself the other day. That Nightmare riff is almost as crazy to play in downstrokes as Blackened.
I think the riff in Judas kiss is even better. Damn, Death Magnetic is full of gold
