BTW: The reason for the narrow foot is to providete optical illusion of the cup "floating" above the table. I think part of the tipability issue with your cups is that your table is covered with a cloth. A well-made piece of pottery with a narrow foot is unlikely to tip over if it's on a hard flat surface.
