Smart people ask questions. It contradicts many conservative societal norms, but if you can't uphold your values, what good are they to pass on?
These are my thoughts as a native person where I CONSTANTLY hear arguments against higher learning as a way to justify their complacency to "traditionalism".

When I asked challenging questions they always told me 'there are two paths', and I heard that quite a few times. That was 40 years ago though and I can't imagine how it goes in the current day with some of the stuff social media tries to push on kids.
