2009 to 2016 began with the Harper Government ending with Trudeau Government taking power. This Public Servant suffered at the hands of two two unscrupulous political parties. Surprisingly, many Canadians are unaware or just don't care of some of the illegal practices and corrupt mentality subjugation civil servants. Unwarranted and undeservedly so the level of unfairness, bigotry, discrimination that takes place on the daily.

That was heavy. A grown man who’s suffered a lot and admitted an attempt on his life. It goes to show you how corrupt our government is and how damaging it is to a life to be a whistleblower.

I totally agree with Luc. I am Very disturbed upon hearing what he had to go through and the fact that it has basically ruined his life (present and future). It is unbelievable that a person with integrity would be punished for his actions.
Please do all to protect whistleblowers. Without them, we are lacking transparency. Promote integrity. Please.

How odd that in Canada we even have to have whistle blowers. When did this ridiculous phenomenon of hiding like small children who have done wrong begin?
It appears that when the government allowed criminals into Canada, this horror began.
These criminals are grown men and women. There is a punishment for small children, there is a different punishment for grown adults.

I hope they amend the act but honestly is it not just more redundant legislation if authorities that are reported to are completely incompetent and just ignore concerns? It's like a protection order issued by the courts but if cops don't enforce it or protect anyone then what?

Not only sad, but alarming. This very dysfunctional behaviour has become normalized - when indeed it is anything but normal. And it seems this attack on truth and truth-tellers has created very unhealthy, psychologically (and physically) unsafe workplaces. It is time we all learn more about how to resist these abnormal forces that push us to do things we would never do when acting as our autonomous selves outside the workplace. If we don't fix it ourselves, I have come to believe it will not get fixed. Pamela

A good law is only the first step. Nothing will change if Canadians don't get behind our efforts and let governments know - we want our whistleblowers protected - no matter where they work. Any citizen who witnesses wrong doing i.e receiver of services should be protected if they report it to an authority. And authorities must be obligated/mandated to act/investigate.
