Today I went into a shop to get a tenor ukulele... I ended up with a bariton ukulele and I love it! I used to play the guitar, but because of arthritis in my fingers and carpal tunnel syndrome, I can't play the guitar anymore. So I got a soprano ukulele and an online course to learn how to play it. Then i heard about a tenor ukulele and wanted to try that, because the sound of the soprano is a bit too high for my liking. I'm more a person for lower and softer sounds, more guitar-like. Now i found your channel and I love your demonstration of the bariton ukulele! It sounds so much like my beloved guitar and is somehow a bit easier to play. Now this is my instrument; finally found it! I hope to see more of you on UA-cam and more of the bariton ukulele. Thank you so much! And if you ever have a course on playing the bariton ukulele, I'd love to take it!
Try 1/2 a teaspoon of ginger with 1/2 a teaspoon of turmeric in a glass of lemonade - my sister put me onto this as she has osteo arthritis in her hands - I have arthritis in my knee - try it for a few days - it cleared my arthritis - it's bloody marvellous!
Hello! Long time bass player here, and I've recently fell in love with ukelele. Been playing it for about a year now, and your channel has really opened my eyes to the heights the instrument can reach. Thank you!
@@BlueDragonMedia There is a Uke bass but because the scale length is smaller, the strings have to be much thicker and heavier. The tone is more like a thud. It doesn't have much ring or sustain. Nevertheless, some like it and a great way to get a bass sound in a compact instrument.
This is genius. Really helping me to move away from only learning one song at a time to making them my own and adding variation and creativity to them! If you'd make videos about music theory, and how to apply that in ur playing, that'd be soooooo awesome!!
Please add time stamps people its not that hard 0:30 we all start somewhere 1:10 understanding dynamic qnd tone 2:40 the simple Percussive technique 4:40 change chord shape 6:40 learn music theory 8:00 learn the finger techniques 9:40 break the chord 10:55 add melody
You continue to amaze me by the beautiful sounds you make with a ukelele. So inspiring. This is an excellent, progressive lesson that is well thought out. Thank you so much.
I’ve been “practicing” the ukulele off and on for YEARS, but I have never been able to find a niche that would be exciting to “get back into it.” My PTSD and ADHD have been getting in the way. But hopefully I can make progress in learning a few techniques. Thank you for your videos!
Marco, you and this channel are amazing. It amazes me that you don't have millions of subscribers yet. The way that you present everything is educational, entertaining and inspirational! Bravo, sir!
So good to have video's like this. I have been playing clarinet and saxophone for years and years, and around 2 years ago I was done with it and fell in love with playing ukulele (this was something different). Now when I am getting better at it I start to focus on technique and theory. The cool thing is that a lot is the same, but on a clarinet or sax there is no concept like a chord or rhythm with your other hand. It's one note at a time. Learning this whole concept is really cool, and I love your video's. Thanks for making them.
Hi, Marco. If you ever hear of a great uke player in Réunion island, it might well be because of your teachings! Trying to follow every video including this step by step. Thank so much.
@Olivier Mussate bon chance, top, s.v.p.say hi to Jérémy Flores for me. I'm a big fan of his as well. By the way he started surfing when he was 3 years old, {says wikipedia}
You play so smoothly. You make that Ukulele sound Amazing!! Keep up the good work!! You are an inspiration to keep on chugging along to get better and as good as you. Can't wait to play like you.
Hello Marco, I just discovered your channel and I think the way you explain each of the steps to learn to play the ukulele is excellent. Excellent work, very neat, clear and 100% useful. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us!, keep rocking!
I actually really appreciate this for what it is. This is a man’s process. Not an actual tutorial of right or wrong options. This was helpful for me to put along side my own process and analyze how fruitful it’s been. Sincerely, I found this refreshing. Thank you!
Hey Marco! Thank you for this! I've only been playing for about a month but i practice every single day and like you say i've gotten a bit bored of the usual stuff so having all of this to try to incorporate is amazing! Thank you again for your work!
Marco I really enjoyed this small, simple & yet so inspiring video. Every time I see one of your tutorials you make me love my Uke so much more. It's such a beautiful and happy instrument. I really enjoy your style with it and your technique. You make me want to play better each time I see your videos. Have you made an Instrumental CD of you playing the Ukulele? I would like to purchase one if you do. Also I know you also play the guitar but, honestly, which one do you prefer now that you also play the Ukulele?
Thank you Marco..your videos are very in depth.. this one was very useful. Some you make are too fast for me to follow but i will keep practising and watching you.
Marco, This was a great video. my journey has mirrored yours although i'm still around steps 3-4. it's given me more of a vision where i need to go next. Thank you!
Your awesome dude. I’ve been toying with Uke for years and never really stuck with it, it got boring like you said. I find your videos really educational and I like your presence and style. Thanks for the vids, wishing you Well brother
This is so awesome and inspiring. Really appreciate your video and your explanations. I’m just beginning so a lot of it is beyond me but I have saved the video to review regularly. ❤
you are true master, from your voice tone to the information you share and how you share it, i wish i have your skills and knowledge to understand the music as you do, im starting this musical path and meny of this information is tottaly new for me thanks alot!!
A wonderful demonstration of how to progress a basic player to a professional player. Marco have you thought about setting up a step by step course to help people progress through these steps - I’d definitely sign up!
Marco, had you been the music teacher at my secondary school, back in the mid-late '70s, I would never have opted to take Rural Studies (gardening), over music lessons.
Dear marco I am far away from your brillant Talent. I am a beginner and every time I try to play like you I could cry because it sounds awful. Maybe you can make a Video for beginners, very slow and with an easy melody. I like to feel great again 🤣 Anyway I will try Hard and I love the way you play. 🥰
I'm sure it doesn't sound that bad. I started to learn guitar last year and it takes a lot of practice, but I make small progress. Do not compare your self with pros :)
i love the ease with which you share. I am early player and am a grand improviser - so for me this has been very rewarding and i am eager to learn more finger pic and melody within key.
So niiiice ! Thank you so much for sharing all these techniques Marco, I've been willing to progress on my technique and that's is just what I needed. Made some mistakes that brought new colour to my songs too so thanks for mentioning a mistake can actually be a technique!!! 🦋
It's very good. It is steps. It is correct habit in practicing those steps. It is those steps in time. In rhythm and pace of learning. Technical and typical for any fretboard really. Get comfy . Learn names. Shapes. And positions. Then play them smoothly. Then be glad ! It's rather easy & not steel string guitars!
Marco, you are truly my hero. Thank you so much for all your effort into making these videos. I've learned so much from you already, even from just watching a few videos. Lots of love from across the world and wishing you and your family all the best ❤️
Very useful techniques borrowed from Guitar playing that help the novice ukulele player get more out of the instrument. The "percussive" technique is often called the "chuck strum," for those who want to research more. Thank you for all you do!
I love the video. Your such a versatile musician. I have played guitar for years but now playing the Ukulele as well. These steps give a chance for new expression with the Uke. Your clear and concise explanations with examples always makes your video a joy to watch.
Marco, Thank you for a inspirational goal that is so beautiful and achievable. I now own a Makai LT -80W and I am in LOVE with the beautiful sounds that it makes; so pure

Similar story here. I love the baritone ukulele!
This is the first ukelele channel I have come across who is not uploading only song tutorials. learning a lot from your videos ❣️
You make the ukulele sound so magical.

Thanks Dob. The Uke is a lovely instrument. I am sure it feels a lot smaller than a bass ☀️🎸
There is a bass version of the ukulele, I have no idea if it's any good but I figured I'd mention it as I think it may be something you'd like. Lol
