    Supercut of my longer overview video. Covers some differences between the base model challenger vs the dark horse and limited models. A few thoughts at the end as to why one may choose to pick this over an HD road glide.

    I’m a Harley guy and the first bike I ever test rode after taking the course for my bike license was an Indian. I LOVED that bike but still went with Harley. Over the last year I’ve wanted a road glide but the challenger has really started to stand out. Better bang for your buck and I can’t wait to ride one when it get warmer.

    I’ve never taken my Challenger out of sport mode since the test ride. I have the Bassani 2 into 1 with no cat and a Dynojet tune(reflash). My bike will smoke any Harley unless it’s a stage 4 131. Then it depends on the rider if it’s a race. I put the Bare Knuckle Performance 2” lift kit on mine and it handles like AWESOME! Tons of lean angle now. This is truly the best of the V-twin baggers and a true sport bagger.
    Now, if they could just fix the parasitic draw issue with the batteries it would be perfect.

      Definitely is, that's the truth!! Thanks for watching, and please sub for more content! I'd love to hear more from you in the future. 2 inch lift!! Damn I definitely don't need that, I run it pretty aggressive and have only managed to scrape boards twice!!! (Even when im trying to maximize lean)

    I have a 2019 Chieftain Dark Horse and I`m very satisfied with it. But the more I see the Challenger I know what I`m switching to next. You have a very nice setup on yours.

    Nice overview of your bike. I was researching the challenger before. But dealerships are far in between, unlike Harley dealerships are everywhere. I do like the Challenger though. Maybe for my second bike.

    • @DarkHorseParatrooper
      @DarkHorseParatrooper  2 роки тому +5

      Yeah that seems to be the biggest issue for some. However, I'd strongly recommend trying one out before you pull the trigger on an HD. You really won't get this kind of performance right out of the box with an HD, may be worth it even not having a dealer nearby. Few minor issues with a handful of bikes, but mostly reliable in general.

    A great video. Thank you. Just an FYI. If you double tap the windshield switch either up or down this can cause extra stress on the threaded carrier. This carrier enables the screw to move the window up and down. Or at least that’s what I’m told.

    • @DarkHorseParatrooper
      @DarkHorseParatrooper  2 роки тому +1

      It should not, it's a defect some are experiencing, and they are working to fix it. My windshield so far has been trouble free, and I use it all the time. I've never had issues with this or my previous one. Thanks for watching!

    Nice overview. I have 2 Harley’s, a 2019 Deluxe (Cholo’d) & a SGS. I test rode the challenger a couple of years ago and was so impressed. I just ordered the Pursuit Darkhorse Black Smoke and will trade my SGS when in comes in ~late Aug. The Indian Tourer is just a better bike out of the box, there’s just no dbate…suspension, audio, LEDs, frame, etc. I wont bad mouth either brand as I’ll be a proud owner of each. Ride safe brother…

      I agree. I wish everyone could be so objective, I've always liked HD motorcycles, but they simply don't offer the out of the box performance or features. Ride Safe brother!

    I think the Milwaukee 8s have an oil cooler system along with the air cooling fins on the cylinder heads. Both require forward motion for air flow, whereas I think the Challenger has an electric fan which would be considerably more efficient in stop-start traffic on a 40°c day.

    • @DarkHorseParatrooper
      @DarkHorseParatrooper  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, the Challenger has a full blown liquid cooling system, like cars do, which is one reason it has so much power. And the Harley has tradition oil cooling, which is why it isn't as efficient. The Indian also has a engine built for more efficient output.

  • @738drvr
    @738drvr 2 роки тому

    It leans like a true sport tourer now. Probably 40 degrees lean angle. In my photos last weekend, it looked like I was about to catch a saddlebag.
    😳

    • @DarkHorseParatrooper
      @DarkHorseParatrooper  2 роки тому

      Hahahaha yeah be careful. This is why the king of the baggers bikes are modified, they have smaller bags that sit up high. Harley did the same thing with the new street glide and road glide st to give them more lean.

      Eagle Light Gen 2, tho I currently don't know if I should recommend them. Someone told me it looks like they sent me the international model, supposedly, and the green plug it has gave me some issues I had to work around.

    How clear is the audio at highway speeds with all the wind noise ?🇦🇺

    • @DarkHorseParatrooper
      @DarkHorseParatrooper  2 роки тому +2

      So with you powerband audio, it's very clear and you can set it to your own ears. The real issue is actually a helmet. Full faced helmet will disturb the audio, make it distort, hold shell will sound awesome. Thanks for watching!

      @@DarkHorseParatrooper after dealing with acquired brain injury sufferers in the health industry, i only wear a good quality full face helmet. I'm getting great success with the Motikon neck band with ear buds under the helmet with adjustable noise suppression. Thanks for letting me know, it helps with the decision making immensely. I've often thought the wind noise would impede the enjoyment of clear audio. 🇦🇺

  • @738drvr
    @738drvr 2 роки тому

    The new FL model ST Harleys bag location is like the original FL bags(above the muffler) and simply returns the bikes to their original lean angle. They put the “short” bags back on the FL bikes because of the possibility of them touching(the specials will/can touch). The FL models still have MORE lean angle than the FXLRST. Sad but true. IIRC the FL has a 32 degree lean angle(just like the Chalkenger) and the FXLRST has a lean angle of 31 degrees. Again, sad but true. That’s why I spent 500 and lifted my Challenger. WAY more lean angle than any Harley with the exception of the Pan America. I own one of them as well.

    • @DarkHorseParatrooper
      @DarkHorseParatrooper  2 роки тому

      Hmm. Have you sat on a Chieftain or a roadmaster? This bike will feel a bit taller even tho it isn't, as the seat/tank are a bit wider where your legs go and your legs lose a little vertical distance because of it.

      @@DarkHorseParatrooper the Challenger is the only one I haven’t thrown a leg over .
      I’m 6’5 and want to see what it felt like .

    • @DarkHorseParatrooper
      @DarkHorseParatrooper  2 роки тому

      What it feels like is sportbike like handling in a bagger with a crazy amount of speed. It's nimble, sexy, and fast. Other cruisers don't compare, there's nothing like it out there. If you buy a Springfield and end up test riding a demo challenger later on at an event, almost a guarantee you'll regret having not gone for the Challenger.
