  • This is how I changed the electric power steering motor unit on a UK spec 2011 Vauxhall Corsa. Use this video as a guide line only, not to be taken too seriously.
    Don't forget to disconnect the battery before messing around with airbags.
    Special Torx Plus bit needed to replace air-bag / steering wheel electronics

    You don’t need to remove the steering wheel and airbag, undo the two bolts that go up into the dash and then yank the whole lot of together. I just did one at work watched your video for guidance but found an easier way!

    Just replaced this on my girlfriends 2010 Corsa with same GM part number ( second hand off ebay £40) works a treat, i was worrying about having everything lined up perfectly but the spleen and steering column will only go in one way. Thanks for your video Ash👍

      @@AshRowlandHi
      I have a Corsa D from 2010 and since 2014 the power steering has occasionally failed.
      However, every time it failed it was after heavy rain (in dry weather it never failed).
      Any idea what could cause the problem only in rainy weather?

      Just the number to the right of GM I think, and also the L2 is important. The other number is the serial number I think

    Hello thanks for video, it looks doable I'll try that on my Corsa I have an intermittent issue. I read some where you need to reprogram this part? But doesn't look like it, right?

    • @AshRowland
      @AshRowland  5 місяців тому +2

      I didn't need to program this one, but I think sometimes you need to recalibrate it, but as long as you match the part number you should be fine

    Hi,
    CAR has just thrown up the eps light on 2011 corsa
    Does look to. Bad to change bit worrying about reprogramming and getting the right exact part number any advice?

    • @AshRowland
      @AshRowland  5 місяців тому +1

      If you stick your head under the dash with a camera phone you should be able to see the part number on a sticker. If you match it like for like then you shouldn't have to re-program it.

      Hi Liam... probably, but I dont know what it is... tight. Make sure you put a new bolt in as it's only designed to be tightened once.

      The only thing I can think of off the top of my head would be to check that water isn't getting inside the fusebox on top of the battery. Also, check the connections in there are nice and tight.

      @@AshRowland When it rains, I notice that it smells like damp inside the car.
      Do you know if there is any place (in front of the car) where rainwater can pass into the interior?

      @@daveallen524 Glad I could help buddy... before you get stuck in, check the main battery positive connection, there's a fuse in there for the electric power steering. Pause my video at 28 seconds and you'll see a plastic box connected to the positive terminal of the battery. Check the fuse with a volt meter and make sure all the connections are tight as it's been known for this to work itself loose.
