Hi Tim!, I saw you walking near harrods on my single day in london the day after easter, and it really made me realize how much I appreciate the confidence and joy your channel has given me
@@TimDessaint Fellow 5'7er here. I assume you're buying the 28 inch inseam denim from ANF. Do you find they are the 'perfect' length or still a tad long - but just not worth having a tailor shorten them? I ask b/c I noticed they are a little longer than in your older video "The Proper Length for Every Type of Pants." I have a normal torso to leg ratio, and typically have them shorted to about a 26.5 to 27 inch inseam. It depends on how someone measures it, but my tailor said it's best to focus on the outseam length instead since different jeans have different rises. Or are you simply preferring a slightly longer length these days, and if so, why?
@@TimDessaint Oh really? Why has your preference shifted from a half break to full break? Is it due to you liking a looser, straight fit? I prefer a slimmer fit with a taper which equals their Athletic Skinny cut.
A&F has really stepped up lately. They went from a brand I haven't looked at in 16 years to a brand that has now earned my attention and my money again. I love their hoodies and sweatshirts in particular, very comfortable and they nailed the silhouette.
the lookbook!!! you're the only male fashion channel I watch, just because I can always take inspiration from how you pair pieces and how you think about silhouettes
+1 for Abercrombie having a 28” inseam. As a shorter dude who has sort of long legs, and a short torso, I’m always between a 28” or 30” inseam. Abercrombie makes the jeans/pants shopping experience for shorter dudes enjoyable. Hope they keep this indefinitely. Wish they’d stock the 28” inseam in store though.
Thank you so much for mentioning the sizing of cole buxton! I bought my first grey cole buxtom hoodie a little while back and was so confused when the length look way longer than the one you have and thought it just wasn't the brand for my body 😭but now I think I'll give em another try!!
As a french, your pronunciation of some of the brand's french names was so accurate I nearly gasped. Like, I was expecting a good pronunciation but meddled with a timbre more found in american english. However, the "r" in "Le17septembre" was so perfect I was astonished ! Also, great beard man, suits you !
Wow, at 0:05, I really like your eyeglasses. Who made them? Are they stainless steel or titanium? I'm a minimalist. Also, I didn't know Fear of God. What rock have I been hiding under? I love them. Together, Fear of God along with Arc'teryx Veillance would make for some super sweet minimalist luxury.
They are literally most affordable, if u want affordable but good quality expect to be paying 20 bucks for a shirt and 30 for a nice pair of pants, for me atleast that's an affordable good deal
The word luxury, it's an proceed value to you and others around you. Basically it could be eating at McDonald's for an poor homeless person. Or getting an Louis Vuitton suit case for middle class family. Or owning a private jet from upper class family.
Each class of family it's different. What's their priorities. Also it's their spending power. That's why iPhone it's considered wealthy item. Because it never goes on sale.
Great video man. You should try British brand Percival, really great pieces and are absolute quality. Quite pricey but I love my pieces. P.s. I have real beard envy right now, killing it man!
ACNE looks really cool, but CAD 1000 for jeans is something out of my scope. Could you please make a similar video, but for people who can only afford uniclo-ish prices?
I feel the exact same way about Acne. There's so much stuff you have to filter through if you have a more refined/understated style. It's that 10% that just about makes you do a double take and think "Yeah I can make that work with my existing wardrobe." That FOG wool hoodie is incredible btw, I'll have to check out the usual sites to see if anyone feels like parting with it! Ha ha ha. Shame about the essentials line having "essentials" plastered all over it. Probably decent stuff but obnoxious branding is a severe turn off for me regarding clothing! Lol. Represent did the same thing a few collections ago and it was awful looking.
I know Airism is your favorite T-shirt, but I don't like how they use polyester in the blend. At least for me, it ends up smelling after a few hours. Thanks for the other recommendations though.
A disclaimer for anyone wanting to purchase Fear Of God Essentials. The clothing fades away quickly, it thick materials that don't last long when you wear them, it's as good as fast fashion.
I’m a petite woman and find most tops, sweaters/hoodies and jackets way too long for me even in petite sizing lines. I think one reason for this is that longer styles dominated from 2000-2020 when we were all wearing mid-rise, skinny bottoms and super-long tops. Many brands have just been too slow to adopt the more current silhouette of shorter cuts in their top layers. I don’t want any top garment, except for long coats and some jackets, obscuring nearly my whole body by ending at mid-thigh, it makes me look shapeless and even smaller. I tuck in every top that falls below the top of my hipbone or wear waist-length tops. I’m 64 and most women my age still wear that unflattering, dated, big, long top over skinny bottom look, it’s so aging. The pendulum is swinging back again and long tops are coming back, but they’re fitted or open from hem to waist.
Why is nobody reviewing the Uniqlo drawstring backpack? I have been using mine for a little over a month now and it is great. It has a nice big opening that opens from the top that lets you store things of unusual sizes if you need to. It has regular backpack straps but also handles on the inside incase you want to carry it like a grocery bag.
I am always fascinated by how good oversized stuff looks on you even though you are not a very tall guy. Whenever I try oversized outfits everything just does not look right, gonna have to look into how one styles such items more. Right now, it just always looks like a kid wearing their big siblings' clothes 😅
Im new to your channel but you have really good content even if we disagree on some aspects. I still learn a lot from you and trough your videos Im able to expand my wardrobe, style and taste. And whatever that at the end was, keep doing it again and again its honestly fantastic
I was really let down by the A&F items I tried, but I didn’t know they make good denim. I rarely wear jeans because I can never get a decent fit, but I like to have a pair on hand just in case I have to do something rugged.
As someone with pimples I don't want to wear clothing that shouts "ACNE STUDIOS" on them lol... Thanks for the different tips, I am going shopping later, so will look out for some of the styles
Great video Tim, I do have a question how long it toke to grow out your beard? I’m two months in right now and feel it takes forever to grow as a fellow Asian 😂
Hey Tim, any recommendations for extreme hot weather (30º+C)? I know layering is pretty much impossible, but good tshirts/sleeveless for this weather, and shorts too?
When I was a skinny dude with 60 Kg, 170cm at 20 years old I loved bagged clothes because I was ashamed of my physic, now that I am muscular 83Kg I think they are the worst, put some muscle they make everything fit well because it is your natural human silhouette that speaks more than anything.
Working out for years to force your body to look a very certain way doesn’t sound very “natural”. Your natural silhouette is the skinny 20 year old you

I’m kind of cheesing a bit because I’m a photographer and videographer and I have a strong love and passion for the craft. But man was it good. It was so nice in fact, I replayed the sequence twice before clicking off this video
Tim, love that you said "tall dude" for your abercromby section... but 34 length is small boy tall 🙈 ... I'm working on creating a platform to help the Tall men like me, where 36 inseam is the starting area. Any brands you can suggest for us that have that and longer? thanks!
