I actually see Bobby Rock teach and perform his metalmorphosis live at a clinic in Lawrence Kansas at Liberty Hall, It was sponsored by Joe's drum shop which was a very small drum store downtown on Mass Street that was only open for about a year and ran by Joe and his wife I wish that store would have survived Joe was a great drummer and an even better dude and his wife was a bass player and Joe brought Bobby Rock to Lawrence to do his clinic that was the one and only event that Joe ended up hosting unfortunately they went out of business shortly after that but the important lesson in all this was the things I learned from body from this clinic in from his metalmorphosis program I literally still used today and when I teach I use a lot of Bobby's methods for my students Bobby is a phenomenal drummer and it's so much more than just your productivical rock drummer He is a graduate of Berkeley School of Music I'm pretty sure which is where Mike portnoy went to school So yeah he's from that whole school of guys Steve Smith Vinnie callahouda Mike paranoid all of them were students of Gary Chaffey at Berkeley
Always like it when ppl share cool stories like that, must've been something to see Bobby live sorry to hear that store went out of business tho :/ At least you learned something from the short time it was there! 🤙🏽
Bobby Rock worked with many well known bands and guitar virtuosos such as Neil Zaza, Brett Garsed, Nelson Brothers, Vinnie Vincent Invasion and also Michael Angelo Batio's band NITRO. Nowadays, he is playing in Lita Ford's band. Bobby Rock is a great jazz-rock drummer, he recorded an album entirely in fusion style. Check it out. m.ua-cam.com/video/oOEqFznkpzY/v-deo.html

The Amazing Brett Garsed there. Great album
This dvd has a big influence on my playing
Fucking Awesome
I'm pleased to hear that his snare drum sounds about as crummy as many that I've owned. 👍
That hair at the 4:12 mark is FUCKING EPIC!!!!!
AWESOME !!
Worked the book a lot when I was a kid. Used tx 444 exclusively until they stopped making them
What we could called a ' SOLID DRUMMER '

Is there a pdf booklet that comes with this?
I didn't realize Paul Stanley played drums so well.
Umm
Maybe you remembering Eric Carr.
When he makes hos triplet crossover fast tempi on toms abd snare he looks like a ninja doing some kond of combat move lol.
is Bobby Rock still around ?
Yeah, playing with Lita Form last I heard.
Scout Bashaw yes he is playing with Lita and also doing solo
Bro he worked with some of the most famous people and still if you googled him barely anything shows up
26:28!! SALSA!! 51:53 DOUBLE BASS BLASTOFF!!
I wonder if you need those fancy alligator boots to play those HH parts.😁
The original video was a little longer, why has it been cut off?
Apparently it was to cut our credits out of it, Jim.
@@DougQuance Hi guy!
He's a good drummer of the era but I always had trouble taking him seriously because of his stage presence.
Stage presence? He''s a rock drummer, what do you expect him to look like? You never heard of VVI?
Pffffff.so superficial to be disturb by the superficial.
6 years and 11k views ?
Currently he's playing the exact same stuff...only a little better.
