    When he was asked what he looked like before the Vinnie Vincent audition, he replied with "I look like a cross between Paul Stanley and Rambo...." Hahaha, he really does.

    Thanks for sharing, I was the producer/director and editor of this video and it was one of most fun projects ever. Bobby is one of the most wonderful and talented people i've ever known and think about this experience all of
    the time.

      wow, you should be famous too. bobby rock still is one of my favorite drummers ever since I was a kid. he did few clinics at spritzer music in the valley and somewhere in garden grove. I still remember is lime-colored peavey drumkit with 4 bass drums and 9 foot pedals. I hope he's doing well of course. I know he bared the tragedy of losing his wife and unborn child many years ago but in front of his fans, he was unfazed and still taught like the Incredible Hulk he was on the kit. May God Bless him and his many incredible talents!

      pnsmexico You can catch up with Bobby on his Facebook page (just search for Bobby Rock),he lists his gigs there. He's still kicking ass out there in drum land. And yes, he had one hell of a kit for this video. We were fortunate to have a killer recording engineer, Jack Joseph Puig (grammy winner!), for the production. Jack used 35 microphones to capture to full effect of Bobby's kit. I think it shows (sounds) on this video.

      +james carey Didn't Jack Puig do a remix of a Megadeth song, perhaps from Risk? That name sounds familiar.

      +austinfailz I don't think so, but he's good at everything he's done. I didn't see any mention of Megadeath on his wiki page:

      Thank you for this. I bought this as soon as it came out. It not only taught me other techniques but made me learn other genre. Coincidentally, I'm now an editor, too. Thanks again.

    Bobby Rock reveals that he's been classically trained at Berklee school of Music.
    I'm not sure, but I think Bobby can also read and write music notation.
    I'm also not sure, but I also think he's done a lot of Session Work with various Musical Acts.
    Session Musician are the True Professionals.

      Because that dude is just a dick! Bobby wrote a book that's been out for a while that talks about his experiences with Vinnie Vincent Invasion. I can't believe what that dude put him thru. When asked if he would ever go back and play with him he said he would. This guy is not only a world class educated badass drummer, he has to much class for his own good. There's no way anybody would have anything to do with VVI now anyway. He looks nothing like back in the good ole hair band days. This VHS tape and the Carmine Appice tape are the only VHS tapes I still have. If you're a rock drummer then this tape should be in your arsenal of bag of tricks library.

    I was in a band engineering called Blackstar in Oklahoma city in the 80s and we lost a drummer so Bob came out to play drums for the band and I was blown away with his talent. They stuck us in a rental home and one nite after rehearsal we walked to Wendy's Hamburger s
    And a F4 tornado was down in a valley as we walked back to the house. We were so freaked out I left the next day and Bob left soon after.

    My favorite drum book is Metalmorphosis by Bobby Rock. It sucks that it is out of print. My copy is getting very worn.

    Probably one of the most arrogant drummers in all of rock at the time. I went to one of his clinics back in the day and he was very very basic. He is a good player but he was in a dressing room primping his hair and putting baby oil on his body so he’d be all lubed up I guess. I remember that the most.

    • @Panheadzach
      @Panheadzach Рік тому

      Lol..serious! 😂 My friend Justin saw him do a drum clinic in Stockton where I'm from. And he was telling the people how important it was to lift weights. And tell everybody you're in charge of the band. I thought that was interesting. A mafia mentality band leader. 😂
