What is your experience with Daiwa's line capacity claims? I just got a 1000 that says right on the spool it holds 160 yards of 6 pound test but it only takes 60 yards of 6 pound test to fill the spool.
I’ve never been asked this nor really paid attention because I don’t fish less than a 2500. I could see why it makes such a big deal with the 1000 class.

I think they are shims for the line lay but I’ve never used them. Ask someone who knows better than me.
Exactly what they are for. Most times just save them for later. Mine laid level out of the box

I have had a few and they haven’t given me any issues.
