I mean... Chris Martin is such an U2 fanboy... before Viva la Vida they were turning basically in a cover band of the slower side of U2. This was probably his teenage dream coming true.

@blueboy189Yellow is pretty much an easy song to sing, I think it would be more challenging for Bono to sing Chris' low notes, like in the song Moving to Mars for example.
@blueboy189I just looked up that version, I definitely wouldn't say Bono did any better than Chris did here. Which honestly is not surprising, I mean everyone is unique and no one can have someone else's voice. The best we're going to get is a great version but in someone else's style.

Well, I know Chris was a big U2 fan... so I guess this was a dream come true!!🙂 He did really well...of course he couldn't sing it like Bono but nobody would expect him to anyway! I was a big fan of U2 in the late 90s (but then from a certain moment and on I just couldn't stand Bono's personality 🙄) I also loved Coldplay's music in the 2000s ❤ I think their music had strong influences from U2 and Radiohead at the beginning. To be honest, in a couple Coldplay songs when I first heard them on radio I thought it was Bono singing ...funny. But I think later Coldplay evolved and gained an own identity. And Chris is such a sweet person!! Anyway, I love the music of both bands ❤❤

Chris is decent, but it really does go to show just how good Bono is.

"I can't live with or without you" meaning that he can't live with her (because she has a boyfriend/husband) and can't live without her because he cares so much about her. "You got me with nothing to win and nothing left to lose" meaning she has led him on so much and he has given her so much that he has nothing left to lose, but nothing to win either (a relationship with her)
