Banana Hobby is thrilled to announce the pre-sale of the highly anticipated 105 mm AF Model F-22 Raptor EDF jet! This masterpiece is now available exclusively at BananaHobby.com.
🔹 **Revolutionary Design**: We've collaborated with AF Model and JP Hobby to create an EDF jet that maintains the stunning aesthetics of its turbine counterpart-no cheater holes or vents!
🔹 **Thru-and-Thru EDF Duct System**: Our innovative duct system ensures maximum performance by efficiently managing airflow from intake to exhaust, enhancing thrust without compromising the jet's sleek look.
🔹 **High-Quality Build**: Constructed with turbine-grade EPO foam, this jet features preinstalled high-voltage GDW servos, CNC metal servo arms, and a heavy-duty retract and e-brake system from JP Hobby.
🔹 **Exceptional Performance**: With a wingspan over 51 inches and a fuselage length of 71 inches, this 1/10 scale model offers the lowest stall speed and one of the highest top speeds among foam jets. It's perfect for both expert and trainer pilots, capable of extreme maneuvers and stable, high-alpha flight.
    🔹 **Feature Highlights**:
    - 8-13 channels configuration
    - Sequentially operating retractable gear doors
    - Operational navigation lights
    - Detachable wing-mounted drop tanks
    - Ideal for scale training and extreme maneuvers

Its been flown off of thick grass. Thick grass is not recommended even though it did take off. The video is on the rcplanereviewers channel on the second day of talking about the F-22

If it's supposed to be jet accurate, gotta bring back and have thrust vectoring!

    • @bananahobby
      @bananahobby  Місяць тому

Vectoring is an option we are looking into, however, this will increase cost and there is already a few that can’t understand that options and more electronics doesn’t decrease cost or make things more affordable.

It looks better than the freewing 90mm, but costs $1,000 more, and doesn’t have a higher thrust/weight ratio. The 105 has a ratio of 1.2:1 on 12s, but the freewing has 1.5:1 on 8s with mods, but still ends up being cheaper. The only real difference between the two is cheater holes. This doesn’t have any, but the freewing does. If scale matters more than performance, get this. If you’re after raw speed you can’t get better than that Zeus or F22 from freewing(they have the same power train). Hope banana doesn’t take this down, I’m just stating facts.

What are you basing the thrust on? The new ducting design will have increased the thrust through flow through design. The video wasn't flown at WOT. Since you haven't flown the new design, you have nothing to compare. Do appreciate your input.

This model is in a different league. Here are the differences:
      1. **Heavy-Duty Gear**: The gear is extremely heavy-duty, painted white, and equipped with brakes, typically costing around $300. It features no pivoting axles, no plastic wheels that melt off the axles, and actual rubber wheels instead of foam. It also comes with the newest JP gear/brake controller and sequencer that consolidates all the gear, door, and brake controls in one place.
      2. **Stock Features**: It comes with stock lights, servo-controlled gear doors, and wing fuel tanks that the other F-22 model lacks.
      3. **High-Strength Rated Servos**: The servos are HV and turbine application torque rated, costing $60 each, compared to the $60 total for all servos in the other model.
      4. **PNP Configuration**: The Plug-N-Play (PNP) version includes the motor and ESC, which alone cost as much as an entire cheaper F-22 jet.
      5. **Quality and Scale**: This model caters to those demanding quality, larger size, and scale appearances and features. It's a turbine jet converted to EDF, which enhances the aircraft's structural strength.
      6. **Superior Attachment Points**: One of this model's biggest strengths is the robust fuselage attachment point, unlike the other model, which has zero structural material in that area. The other model only has foam sandwiching a plastic rod mount, which allows the tailerons to pull aft and downward at high speed.
      7. **Accessibility**: This model is intended for enthusiasts who desire larger jets but are unable to fly turbines at their fields.
Additionally, the thrust tube and intake design in this jet optimizes the 105mm, resulting in exceptional performance even at 4,900 feet altitude. This F-22 is quicker than any other AF Model EDF and either matches or exceeds other stock F-22 EDFs. While it may not appeal to everyone, it caters to pilots who demand quality, size, and scale features. There are many lower-cost and lower-quality options available in the hobby for those with different preferences or abilities.

I'm looking for a larger size airfare because I fly high and far. My FW 90 starts to get pretty small at those distances.
I also want the simplicity of an EDF. Otherwise, for speed, I just go turbine.

£2000 after the £300 postage and Vat to the UK. I don't think it's worth 4 times more over my current Freewing 90m F22. I could maybe stomach £1000 to £1200. But thats it.

    • @Mrtcoltpilot56

Have to understand it's made to turbine specifications with the highest grade materials and specifications on the market. HV high torque metal gear servos attached $60 each, the JP 105mm EDF fan, and esc $600, JP Brakes and landing gear controller. Predominantly made for those who aren't able to fly turbines at their field. The highest quality to which customers asked for. Not everyone will want this.

@Mrtcoltpilot56 Sir, thank soooo much for making me understand the cost as well. I want it too and asked the same. Still I ask. What is the flight time. And still, Thank you again for the info. That helped for me to more pull the trigger on it. I request they give you a credit of my comment when I purchase one.
