I love this F-22, obviously! Question is, for us with a little less resource, do you suggest staying away from the Freewing F-22 6S 9-blade 3672-1900Kv 130A ESC?
You could definitely do the stock 6s PNP version with that unit if you're on a budget... It's ok and it'd be extremely lightweight and nimble, but ARF PLUS is always the way to go if you want to step things up.
From Fernando. For anyone asking about the EDF setup... That's the fun part, testing different units to reach your goals. I'll also say that optimizing the intake path also helps, but the most crucial factor is the fan balancing... If anyone wants the best balancing work see above. (The Fan is a 12 blade put together with spare parts)
I love my Frankenmotor 12blade 64mm! Like Fernando said, this airframe will fly itself. Off power, it behaves like a glider. I got about 8 fly days on it AND I am a new flyer, new new.
I mean it's no harder to fly than any other so I'd say intermediate in stock form... If you want to mod it you really need to know what you're doing. Cheers!
Thanks! Yeah, I built this setup custom with an alloy 12b rotor, inrunner, and high stator housing to really get the sound to hit right. It's a very mild setup too! Only pulls about 80 amps.
I bet I get as much or more flight time using a 6S 7000mAH battery, and at the upper end it becomes diminishing returns on thrust because of form drag. 12S is just another **** measuring contest. Great if you want to go that way, but a must? Not really, IMO.
HV is more for power efficiency than flight time. Getting more flight time on 6s is easy, just won't have the power under the curve like HV amp for amp...
Yes, the airframe is heavily modified in terms of intake flow and I also reinforced the tail section to handle the power with the full flying stabs. This is actually a pretty low power setup I built more for sound than performance so it only pulls about 85 amps.
@fern6978 thanks for the reply. Would love to see a small video on the set up of the plane. What paints were used (lovely job btw) how you done the reinforcements etc. I was thinking of putting carbon rods through the vertical stabs and upgrading the stock ELV servos. I'm running the FMS 1500kv on 10s but it's pulling 150A so it's holding me back from 12s
@fern6978 5500. I don't fly it often cos of that. I stay at 9s most the time. Spent a fortune on expensive 160A 12s ESCs for the F22 and Viper 10s and don't use them cos I feel for my lipos! But what options are there for me? What other 90mm can you recommend?
@@M4rkmcc21 Oh yeah that's a brick setup (Way too heavy and amp hungry) You'd see tremendous improvements going with a lighter and more efficient 12s setup and your packs will thank you for it haha! 12s 4000 is the sweet spot IME. A lightweight custom setup would be the way to go. 👌
The sound is awesome!
Need small solid rocket as missile that can be fired maybe with color flair
I want one........
What transmitter and receiver equipment is installed, any telemetry?
He using a old airtronics radio. No telemetry.

Good video Pat!
Camera and mic setup? Sounds liek mic records you and camera records jet/outside audio...
one boom mic on camera and 1 remote wireless mic on Fernando. working on improvements still learning.
Sound is amazing Fernando,,, have you seen my F-100 fly yet ?
No man, you finally got that cg figured out? Post a link brotha! 😁
@fern6978 yes,, century jet had it way way off.. let me find the link

Glad you got one man... The F-22 is amazing!
Really is it the same with the 90mm - i would assume it's a real glider when out of the power also?
yes sir- we have questions! What EDF unit are you using? Sounds sweet, and crazy fast -:)
很強的爆發力,跟噴射引擎有得比,聲浪也很棒。
Thanks buddy! It's a great plane! 😁
Very nice !
Needs thrust vectoring…
Would you consider this a expert level jet or is it pretty user friendly?

Lol
How does scaling an aircraft up or down have an effect on aero?? Is it basically 1:1?
Wow it sounds good!
I have a question: How cool is that?? Did you just put 12 cells on the stock setup? Did I miss something?
Hey buddy... No no, this is a completely new and specd power system. Nothing stock around here haha
Omg that sounds amazing!! What’s the motor and fan? 12s 😳😳

Yeah this thing is a monster! What kind of EDF do you installed in there?
Hey, I've still got your Rafale nozzles playboy... LMK!
He calls that his CG mark but that is way farther forward than the manual shows. What's up with that? Very cool otherwise.
Not at all... CG's right at 150mm as per the manual, and for once it's accurate ha! (Note the neutral elevator position during the interview)

Any DIY reinforcement on the airframe? Stock servos? What KV is the motor and do you know what Amps ur pulling? Cheers

@@M4rkmcc21 Man, that's a crazy hot setup... How many mAh are you running? Those poor packs lol

You in Illinois? That field looks familiar
Yes. Matteson Ill. SAC field.
What Edf unit is he using?? That sounds insane!
This is a custom setup I built with an alloy 12b rotor and HET inrunner... Built more for sound than speed.
you need a camera onboard 💞
I totally agree! Yes we do.
I love how he won't expand on his setup.
"Classified" 😉😄
That with FPV VR would be insane
You gotta upgrade youre camera man
Great plane. I guess dude is skipping legday to go flying😂.
Neva! Haha
S-57 is the G.O.A.T
My grandma flew faster than that and I don’t even have a grandma 🥸🥸🥸🥸🥸
Yeah, this setup and plane isn't meant for speed. I have it setup for sound.
