The trail runnin leads us to raise the spirit to higher levels, we know the true value of connecting with the Mountain, demonstrating the Power of the Mind, demonstrating that there are no limits.
See you again very soon ? Defo !! Can't wait for your next challenge. This one looked very good, variable terrain and weather (as you'd probably expect). Just a tad disappointed you never got the Hobnobs out.
Oh my goodness Dean what a great run again! I was on Kinder Scout a couple of days ago, up from Hayfield, and William cough. I did the complete Kinder Scout Plateaux Edge route, two nights out. First near Kinder Downfall and second on top of Ashop Head, walking anticlockwise. I think during that mean hail storm on Saturday you were just leaving Kinder Downfall and I was right on the other side leaving Crookstone Knoll. Sorry I missed you as I'd certainly have shouted an encouragement to you. I had a pint and bowl of chips Sunday midday at the Sportsman Inn. Super-good video again Dean, thanks for vlogging along your route (I still don't know how you manage that and the running!) and the views shown along the way. Cheers, Warren :)
Hi Warren, thanks for watching and I hope you had a great time doing the Kinder circuit... Sounds like you did. The weather was a bit changeable during this run but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Itching to do another soon but I've got a big walk coming up in a couple of weeks so need to take it easy 😁 Hopefully our paths will cross some day, all the best.
Brilliant video Dean really enjoyed watching it. Funny that you mentioned going up William Clough brought back memories. It did for me watching it. A walk up there about 10 years ago on my own I got talking to a guy about our both very new and very matching La Sportiva B2 boots. We ended up walking the route chatting and then a pint in Hayfield afterwards. Said gentleman (Ste) is now a good friend and from that one encounter through various connections it lead me to mountains, wild camping, trail running summer and winter climbing in the UK and abroad. Paul who ran the charity event we helped out on last week on Kinder is a friend I met through Ste. Well done on the finish something I'll definitely take a look at entering next year.
Hi Simon thanks for watching and for sharing that story, it's amazing the twists, turns and chance encounters that lead us to certain things. I have met some great people over the years due to walking, one of which is now a great friend and we went to California for 2 weeks for a walk in Yosemite. I saw your friend Fiona at the Hayfield CP during this race, recognised her from your pics and the Harrier marketing. Didn't say hello as I would probably have sounded weird 🤣🤣
Awesome to see you enjoying life so much and your videos are FAB! Recommendations from bonnie Scotland - The Ochil Ultra 30 miler (on my doorstep) end of September and The Dava Way 50k starting in Grantown on Spey in the beautiful Cairngorms on 11 November. Good luck with Spine North
Thanks for watching Nina, great to hear from you. Hope you’re doing well up there in Bonnie Scotland. Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll get googling.
Fantastic route, such variable weather but nothing that detracts from the beauty of the Peaks. Well done - not an easy run by any standards! Great video as always Dean 👍
Well donne both of you on the run . Your an inspiration Dean ! I have started to consider running the Glorious Peaks , thanks for the awe inspiring video.
Great video! This makes me want to explore more of Kinder. I've mainly ascended Grindslow Knoll, Grindsbrook, and Crowden Clough. Seems like there's a lot more to check out!
Thanks for watching Jess, just got home from a run in the Yorkshire Dales which was a similar distance, still can't run it continuously yet though 😁 some day I will.
There's always a bit of hiking in the longer stuff to be fair. I've covered a marathon distance with continuous running before but it wasn't particularly hilly.
Well done Again Dean, your clocking the miles up. Looked a cracking route this one. I’m off up Kinder tomorrow for my mates 48th. (No better way to spend a birthday). Might not be 35km though lol.
Fantastic, you had all the weathers as well, knowing me I’d have been in shorts though 😂 Doing this so soon after the skyline is an achievement in itself. I’m preparing a list of questions on all things running for our next meet 😉 Atb Mark
Great stuff Dean, 36k on that terrain is no joke! I'm heading up that way tomorrow from the south coast, hoping for the weather you had at the start of the day and not the weather you had later in the day 😁
And that's why it's important to always carry the full kit list, and run with decent kit. How does Stef find the new Harrier Exmoor waterproof? I've got one, just not used it yet.
Thanks for watching Ashley, I've gone for some Scott Supertrac 3. I wanted something with a bit more cushioning for the longer distance events. Upon reflection though I'm wishing I'd stayed with a more minimalist shoe like my Inov-8s and worked on my technique. The Scotts are taking some time to wear in, they are more cushioned but feel stiffer than the Inov-8s. I've only done around 50km in them so far so we'll see how they go, I'm hoping they are worn in for the TGO challenge walk next month.

Thanks for watching Kev, really looking forward to Woodhall. Been working on the van over last few days to get it ready, it's now green 😁
Well Done Dean ... Oh what it is like to watch the young run!
Haha thanks for watching Dafydd 😁
See you again very soon ? Defo !! Can't wait for your next challenge. This one looked very good, variable terrain and weather (as you'd probably expect). Just a tad disappointed you never got the Hobnobs out.
Haha the HobNobs were for emergencies only on this trip 🤣 Thanks for watching

Great video of the race Dean! Gutted I didn’t see you or Jane - I opted for an early start. What a fantastic day out it was with stunning views 🤩

Definitely a lot more to explore the Northern Edge is spectacular. Thanks for watching
Two big events in two weeks! Beast!

First through the door!!loving the trail content!
You're too quick, literally about 30 seconds after it went live 🤣🤣
@@DeanRead 😂 I was just on my morning scroll and the notification pinged in 😂 couldn't resist 😂
@@changethetimes haha nice one 😁👍
Youre doing well for 70 Dean lad🤣 . Seriously though well done mate 👍
I felt like I had the body of a 70 year old when I'd finished 🤣
Great run dean well done , Iam training for the 9 edges challenge so might see you out sometime 😀🏃♂️🏃♂️
Excellent, I quite fancy doing that race myself. thanks for watching 👍

Hope you had a great time last week 👍😎 Thanks for watching
Hi Dean, great video, great weather. I was wondering if you are going to do some more walks and maybe more wild camps with kinder 🐶
Thanks for watching Jacob, I have a camping video to edit soon
And that's why it's important to always carry the full kit list, and run with decent kit. How does Stef find the new Harrier Exmoor waterproof? I've got one, just not used it yet.
She really likes it, it has everything you could need from a jacket and fits perfectly
Well done me duck 👍
Thanks for watching
Great work! Did you find this harder than the edale skyline?
The Skyline Race was harder simply because of the time pressure and the heat on the day. Thanks for watching 👍
I see you've replaced the Inov8's. What was the shoe of choice? And how did it compare?
Thanks for watching Ashley, I've gone for some Scott Supertrac 3. I wanted something with a bit more cushioning for the longer distance events. Didn’t think you were 70
It's the Plant Based diet that keeps me looking younger 😜 Thanks for watching Mark
