- Few days back Suhas Patil requested Tai's Yaman with "Tose Neha Laga" Bandish, so here it is, an elaborate Yaman. No other concert details available. But I think on Tabla is Shri Balkrishna Aiyar, I may be wrong.
My sincere Namaskar. No one, no one can even come close.

She was so great, I didn’t want to comment. But,Today,anyone starts to learn music, from any Guru, the first one is usually the Yaman. But, this profile of the raga ,will be never seen hereafter ,for sure. We have lost a legend...a big loss, indeed....

Kishori Amonkar has a voice which makes classical renderings sweet unlike some singers whose voice quality makes things harsh.

" Where , where have gems like these been hidden away - the tranquil misty rendition of this yaman surpasses plain magic. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to hear it , and I will certainly be listening to this Yaman again and again.

Great observation. Yes she has used the shuddh madhyam .
Also observe 1:02:13 where she uses the rare S G R phrase. The audience, notice and appreciate it with their characteristic “ahhhh”.

There was a CD of Yaman in a Mumbai concert of the 1980s; I wonder if this is it. This is one of her best Yamans which is among her best ragas.
Prasenjitji I am besotted with this version of Tai's Yaman. Please could you tell me a bit more about this CD you have mentioned. Clearly I have not come across it before and would like very much to listen to it. Indeed this is amongst the very best of her Yaman renditions.

@@anandketkar2191 Sorry Anand. The Bombay Nehru Centre recording is Bhopali and Bhinna Shadja. I misremembered.
@@prasenjitduara686 I missed your reply . The Bombay concert Live at Nehru Centre is certainly much later than this recording. It is a wonderful concert as well - two renditions of Bhoop and Bhinna Shadja which is what Kishori referred to Rag Kaushi Dhawani. And yes this Yaman is one of my top five Kishori pieces. I have been listening to this every other night since it was uploaded. Magic and more !

It is Smt Maya Upadhye. I just confirmed it with her. She learnt and sang with Kishori tai during the 80s and 90s. :)

@@nerdywatercolorist6551 I think that the vilambit composition is more to provide a structure for the Raag exploration. She might have chosen not to take the Antara again.
