Omg!!! Akhal Teke has always been my #1 favorite horse but I have never ever seen one in real life! That is incredible!! Beauty just continues to get more and more special every day!! Akhal Tekes are so so rare. The Rocky mountain makes total sense to me. You have found a real gem in Beauty. Wow!!! I never would have guessed Akhal Teke!!!!

Me neither, especially as the number one! SHe is more medium build and her personality is kinda sleepy and chill even when left alone, quite the opposite of any Akhal I've seen. I wonder if she'll have high endurance though! ;-P
Would have never guessed this either given she's an Amish bred horse likely. I would have guessed Rocky Mountain Pleasure horse in there for sure. But I sort of doubt the Pervian and Akhai...However I would believe that those two breeds would be used to develop the Mountain Pleasure horses. .Like the dog DNA lineage tests, I really don't think these horse breed tests are all that accurate. and how DNA works, if you breed two Mountain pleasure horses together, the genes for the other breeds could be magnified and come up more frequently in a DNA lineage test.
Some part of this makes me think that maybe she had some tb or other light breed down the line with a decent amount of teke blood, especially if we're looking at horses that would be available to the amish, generally don't know much about gaited breeds though

She was not cheap though plus some of the better Amish breeders have some amazing quality stock and they breed extra on purpose to train and sell. They may have preferred a less sleepy horse for their own work though. Beauty is a bit of an energy saver type horse who might be better suited to just mid to low level amounts of work instead of working out in the fields for long periods. The breeders would have a lot of very high quality stock to choose from such that even the ones they desire less are still super good horses for many uses.
I personally think it’s jealousy or insecurity when others comment narcky stuff. Shae is stunning, growing in confidence and rightly so. She works so hard on her channel and lines of business, she’s a growing business woman with a great head on her shoulders. To be able to balance all of that as she does, you need to be bold and fearless. I love the fact Shae feels comfortable in her own skin and wears gorgeous colours. I believe in lifting others when they’re learning to fly, not trying to clip their wings because you may not be able to reach the same heights. By lifting them, you also lift yourself and become a better person too.
Soar high Shae, keep glowing because your mission is beautiful and so are you. 🙏🏻✨🌻

I totally agree. Shaw is an amazing woman and role model. I know a lot more about horses and riding since watching her channel and enjoy the experience. I wish I lived close by and be able to become a confident rider. I live in Virginia
From 1866 to 1940, the US Army operated Remount Stations throughout this country to ensure a steady source of quality horses for military purposes. The Remount Station used by my family was located in Front Royal, Virginia. My Grandfather often told me stories about the stallions local farmers crossed with their farm mares. Every 4 years the Army would travel through the countryside buying the colts. As I recall, the following stallions were stabled at Front Royal; a Spanish Jack, a Thoroughbred, a Standardbred, a Suffolk Punch, and his very favorite a 14-hand Morgan. The genetic makeup of many horses today reflects the influence of these Army Remount Stations.

I just want to point out something that a lot of people don’t notice. In this video you can hear her clucks, kisses, woahs, and a rewarding words like “good boy”. This is so important because you don’t want to be kicking on you horse right when you ask them. I love how I can hear those cues and it just reminds me of how good of a rider you are. Good job!
I love how you love your animal buddies and you don't mind getting into the dirty work that it requires to take care of them.

Beauty is amazing! When I first saw her I thought she might have some royal bloodline but what a nice mix she is. You certainly have a gift for finding such fine horses to be rescued. 😊
Becky here. I used to trade out work for boarding my horse. One of the new horses in training was sooooo spooked by everything. We strung a rope across the top of his paddock and draped a tarp over it so is would blow around in the wind and then put his hay under the tarp. Food motivated him to face the scary thing and after just a week anything could blow up during training and he was chill.
I think Beauty would look even better in a purple / gold colors as her coat looks fairly warm in her colors
The best dogs are rescues. Our flat coat retriever is a rescue and we could not ask for a more perfect pet. Thanks for rescuing your sweet dog and not buying one. And he is so cute!!!

My daughter just nabbed a really tall dog from the pound - part Shepherd/ part Doberman, approximately 3 years old...and we have no idea why anyone gave her up!! She is just a sweet huggy love and suits my daughter perfectly. Maybe it was how big she got. No idea.
We got our sweet Samoyed, Casper, when he was 5. His previous owners were unable to keep him anymore, and they chose us to be his new family from many who wanted him on the Facebook website on which they had posted his need for a new home. He turned 13 the end of last year and we cherish every day we have with him.
I have 2 rescues. They were strays so their breeds are a guess but the vet and I think my first is a shepherd/lab and the second is a catahoula, possibly a pure bred but might be mixed. Pretty sure my first was a failed hunting dog that got trained the traditional way and just lost his trust in humans and the catahoula was too submissive and is epileptic so they ditched him, not the best for a farm/hunting dog.
I love them so much, I couldn't ask for better dogs.

Guessed right about her color. Wow about her breed test. Paso makes sense and is far more likely than Akhal Teke. Beauty is a true gem!
its because shes not a purebred one then that would be different,j i totally see it in her in my opinion ,
@@iloveowls90 I just picked up on something. Just because the Akhal Teke is mentioned alphabetically first, doesn't mean that Beauty has a high content. These breeds are listed from A-Z. I think it's more likely she has a little Arabian in her, rather than AT. Also wanted to point out, as Shae said while these breed tests are fun, they should be taken with a grain of salt. A friend of mine has a Ragdoll cat with a pedigree tracing back almost 30 years, yet the breed test said the cat was 18 % Ragdoll.

HAH! I knew it! Didn't say because it was sooooo improbable, but I *love* akhal tekes - and I love Beauty! I made a comics book on an akhal teke in Turkmenistan a couple of years ago, and it has been my best selling book. Yay! 😀

@@MsSonali1980 Head and neck, mainly. Not only the way they look, but also the way the head is attached to the neck - like the greyhound of the horseworld. And then the ears - they are finely chiseled, slim and somewhat long - just like an akhal teke. 🙂

Anyway, the book is available in Denmark, but the postage would make it very expensive to ship, so I mainly sell it in Denmark. Also, though I did translate it into English, the book itself is only available in Danish.

I was for shitz and giggles looking for akhal teke prizes a few months ago, I almost fell backwards. Up to 100k Euros (I actually don't know how realistic those prices are, could also be due to the embargo regarding Russia that the EU has in place, I rather had thought from 5k up to 20k would be realistic).
@MsSonali1980 Akhals are more in Kazakhstan which is its own country 😊
There were some Tekes brought over for a breeding program for the Nez Perce tribe some years back. I suppose it's slightly possible one of Beauty's ancestors was in that program.
@@jaysmith8199 I know that they are not from Russia per se, but they breed there and it was easier to import them from Russia (at lest the European part) then from Kaz or Central Asia in general, because it's closer. The Sowjets back in the day even caused the breed to decimate because they didn't see any work force value in them.
...I am wondering what genetic markers might have triggered the Akhal because it's hard to imagine a random Akhal Teke stallion in an Amish herd. 🤣 But she's gorgeous, that's for sure!
Akhals are floating around. Horse Plus had a Akhal mix they rescued
Tekes were crossed with appaloosas to try to go back to early native American horses before they became aqha cows with spots. Many color breed horses get mixed in backyard barns, then picked up at auction by Amish.

have no manners and just take off whenever they please. And, rider doesn’t realize the potential danger they are in and make excuses for

@@anyagetman8596You are right: when white people started to try to save the Appaloosa breed from extinction around the turn of the 20th century, they had a tough problem. The total number of existing Appaloosa horses had been greatly decimated after the federal government restricted the Nez Perce tribe to reservations and forbade tribe members from owning and breeding them anymore.
Appaloosas had become so rare that the settlers crossed them with every breed imaginable,including draft horses.
The offspring of these crosses often had spots, but were very coarse and large, totally unlike the original Nez Perce breed.
To try to remedy that, the progenitors of the Appaloosa horse registry bred the few remaining horses with the Appaloosa coat pattern with higher quality and more refined breeds, such as Arabians.
Unfortunately, the breed registry has gone downhill since then. At shows, the registry rewarded horses that were bred like quarter horses to the point that the spotted pattern became rarer and rarer. This happened because the genes for the spotted pattern had become quite diluted, and breeders were upset. They did not want to take the risk of breeding solid horses that they couldn’t sell as Appaloosas.
Later, and due to breeder pressure, the registry started accepting horses with no spots for both showing and breeding, which greatly dampened public interest in them. The gene pool is once again, extremely attenuated, and registered Appaloosas have lost their elegance.
If you are picky, you can find an Appaloosa with a more desirable genetic background. They’re supposed to be small horses not big plodding horses.
Shae’s heart horse Prince Charming is an excellent example of a well- conformed stock horse type of Appaloosa, and he retains the loud Leopard coloring. Horses like him do not grow on trees. He is pretty exceptional.

She mentioned she was hunting for a word Beyond "Elegant" and I think she was either looking for "Sophisticated" or "Debonair". Royal blue is obviously a regal color but combined with her light and dark color coat, it extenuates character and gives the air of refinement. I know it was a simple detail but I was also hunting for the word when she mentioned how to describe Beauty's look in the bridle and saddle.

Any regular watcher of your videos should know better than to question your overall knowledge about horses and their related accessories - including the proper sizing of a saddle for any particular horse. You have shown that you are a thoughtful owner who consistently offers superior training and care for your horses. You always do a great job, Shae!

I've never seen anyone ride in a baroque saddle before so this was really fun. It really suits your petite frame, Shae. And I don't know why people would issue critical comments about a saddle on these videos when you're trained at saddle fitting. The architect in me loves the videos where you break down the architecture of tack!

OMGosh I love how excited you are about the results. I know about that rare breed from following HAWS...Help Alberta Wildies Society (there's a story there!) and I have supported a rescue helping to save some of these horses from Ukraine since the war started.

I remember from what I have read in the past about the Akhal Teke breed is that they are very intelligent, and Beauty has already demonstrated that characteristic in droves.

The Akhal-Teke makes sense based on the texture of her mane and the fineness of her coat and some of her conformation. Based on the coat and mane/tail I was originally wondering if she was part Arabian, but conformation-wise that didn't make sense. Now it makes more sense!
