- Hey Horse Lovers! It's time for an UPDATE on my beautiful fillies Ezzy & Ariel the Two Foal Besties! ARIEL THE BAY ROAN FILLY: She is a 5-Month-old weanling who was imported from a Ranch in Manitoba, Canada. She is a Brabant, Percheron, QH X and her color is BAY ROAN. She was completely unhandled when we purchased her 3 weeks ago from the filming of this video. I will be working with her then introducing her to BELLE & EZZY once she is ready.

BELLE & EZZY: For more back story information: in February, I purchased Belle from an auction and well... we discovered she was pregnant about 4 weeks later following a wellness exam and quarantine! We were completely shocked but also very happy. This will be our first foal ever born at Free Spirit Farm. Here is a little background information: Belle is a 7-year-old Dapple Grey, Draft who is just under 16.2hh. On 6/16/23 Belle gave birth to her MYSTERY FOAL at 1:15AM!!! We were so excited and overjoyed upon the foal's arrival! Belle had a beautiful filly and we decided to name her Esmeralda. Ezzy is bold, intelligent, kind, willing, and independent. We absolutely adore her and Belle! In this video you will get to see the foal training I have done with Esmeralda thus far. I believe in a calm, gentle, natural approach in regard to training horses (and foals). Watch to see how baby Ezzy does during her session today! I am SO THANKFUL that Belle (and Ezzy) came into my life.

Every time I see Ezzie nursing and enjoying the presence of her mom, I feel bad for Ariel. She was weaned too early and probably too abruptly.

Is it just me but does Ezzy look like she is going to be a long bodied horse compared to little Ariel she is just stunning and I think she may be bigger than mom when fully grown. Ezzy sets such a good example for Ariel that you are a safe person with her love for you Im sure that its going to help Ariel so much along with all the work you have already put into her. I am loving this journey with these babies and I feel privileged to watch it all unfold.
Ariel is truly thriving under your care and with proper company. Seeing her gait become more confident and her tail stand up is really heartwarming.
Its great seeing them run and play. I am glad they all get along so well.
Ezzy and Ariel are gorgeous, but Belle is majestic! She is one of the most beautiful, commanding horses in spirit and stature. Ezzy looks like she will have the same build and beauty that her mother has. I’m so glad Ariel is feeling comfortable and accepted. Lovely to watch these girls enjoy each other!!

Isn’t it amazing to see the amount of confidence in a horse that is raised with zero negative experiences? Little Ezzy just exudes confidence. Little Ariel has TWO wonderful teachers (Shae AND Ezzy)that will show her the way and bring her out of her shell. It’s going to awesome to watch!
They are so cute together! Gaston eating the Maple leaves in the tree shows he is a true Canadian, haha! 🤣❤
I really like that Ariel get to grow up with a herd. She'll learn manners, be comforted, and just be a well rounded horse. ❤

I don't believe their is evidence that Arial was weaned too early. She is older then Ezzie. She didn't look malnourished at the auction and she eats just fine. More likely then not she is not missing nursing

Watching Ariel prance around with her tail flagged is so heart-warming... happy filly! You can see a little difference in their necks. Ariel's is stockier the Essie's. Bothe are gorgeous girls 🙂
Ariel is very square in body and close coupled and going to be large, Ezzy is longer backed and going to be enormous these foals have beautiful natures and are a delight. I could watch the girls for hours I'm so glad you got Arial poor baby pulled off her mother put in a truck and auctioned off your so patient and kind with her and now she has a best friend and she seems so happy now great video
It is good for Belle to chase around behind the “her” fillies. She will have an even more graceful and trim figure in no time. She is such a lovely mare and Ezzie takes after her. Of course Ariel is so cute. What a chunk she will be.

Ariel is such a beauty, you can really see the Brabant blood in her. I'm so happy she and Ezzy are forming a bond with each other! The girls are adorable together 🥰
So true. Ariel is the spitting image of some of the Brabant foals I've seen and their coloring.
I’m so glad you pointed that out. I’m not a horse person, but I can tell how different Ariel looks from Ezzy (and Belle!) in her body and head shape. She has a more stocky build and I was wondering where that came from. I looked up Brabant horses and it became obvious where her “thicker” (I don’t know how else to describe it) body and stronger head shape originated. Ariel is beautiful and if she continues to grow up like a Belgian draft horse, Kyle is going to have one ginormous gentle lady to ride!
I am fascinated by Ariel's color. I don't know if it is just the camera doing its own thing, but it often appears (esp in sunlight) that her body color is sort of cool, diluted lilac instead of a dilution of the warmer, orange chestnut color of her head. Cool lilac and warm chestnut . . . two colors that a sane person could never wear together without being committed, yet look really cool paired together on one horse. She's truly a horse of a different color. 🥰 You have two beautiful fillies, and so nice to see them together and becoming friends. ❤
This is what I like about You Tube and your channel. We can watch the everyday events with you. My horse passed away and its so great to watch you and your beautiful horse and watch the foals grow and your farm going through its improvements.

Now that we know it, I think you can see the Clysdale in Ezzy so clearly! And I'm so happy for Ariel that she found a friend in Esmeralda and be accepted from Belle. She found the best place for her to grow up!🧜🏻♀️❤💃🏻
The fabulous fillies 🐎🐎 It is wonderful for both of them to have each other. Ariel gets a confident friend in Ezzy who can show her life is full of love at FSE and Ariel is the friend Ezzy needed to play with and grow up together. Belle is being a protective mamma, but at least she is better with Ariel now plus the girls can let off steam together and Belle can munch her hay. They certainly love the hay! Bagheera at 28 deserves some down time from being an aunty to the rambunctious pair. The whole place looked gorgeous with the Autumn colours.❤❤

I don’t think Ariel was in any danger other than potentially going to a bad owner. It was a higher end sale with loads of foals from one breeding barn.

The foals are so lovely 💞 When I see Bell & Ezzy maybe Ariel is remembered on her mother. She is also a little girl. In Austria the foals are 6 month with their mother, never shorter 💝 The corvette is very super 🤩

Ariel has a lovely face. It feels so good and healing that you have them safe and well protected. I never knew that horses were so much work to take care of, and that they live such transitory lives. It is so good to know with your farm they are safe and loved most of all. Well done Shae. The barn looks fantastic and blends in well with the other buildings.

The expression in Ariel's eyes has gentled so much. You can see she's beginning to trust and love. So sweet to see the two of them having fun!
My brabant gelding was the most beautiful horse I had ever seen. For his size, 17h and an even 1 ton weight, he could move like a dream. I cannot wait to see these girls grow up and live a beautiful life with you! ❤

We all have our colours exc over in the uk we see Aerial as a strawberry roam and your paints are piebald for black and white and a skewbald for brown and white it’s really educational as we are different parts of the world and I do really enjoy watching you guys you are so caring and I love the way you talk to your horses it’s really heart warming and that’s what they pick up on even ezzy she is a dream you stroked pot luck on picking mom cos you had a surprise with ezzy and I love you all ❤❤❤❤❤
