I absolutely LOVE traffic control! They just switched which side of the bridge near me that is closed, so traffic control is very important near me! Great video as always!
I work for a Public Works Streets Maintenance for a large city in Oklahoma its awesome to see another perspective of all of this. Most of that large rehabs are contracted out... We mainly just deal with potholes, curb and gutters... and panel replacements. Definitely subscribing!
This city is same way. We have the contract for this year's concrete patching here. They too have a crew that does smaller scale projects across the city. Thanks for subscribing!
@ARoadBuilder well hell ya. As a crew lead I get a vibe you are one as well. Got great leadership skills. You teach but not from afar. You're in there leading by example 🤘🏼
Awesome video, this for sure has to be one of my favorites! The barrel semi that you guys have is awesome, I also really like the direction indicator barricades you guys carry (we don’t use those here in Colorado). Great job on the traffic control 👍
Thank you! Yeah, I always see in other states how people do traffic and always wonder how they get away with just using barrels on a taper. Different rules in different states.
Do they actually let you flag on highways where your at? Here they just have spotters on interstates now in IL. Only time we actually flag now is on 2 lanes or in residential type roads.
Maybe they're not done working on that section of road? Sometimes contractors rent traffic control and the rental company takes longer to pick it up too. Not sure though. We normally pick ours up after completing all work on the road, however we too have some traffic control spread out on roads we've had done for a few weeks now for the simple fact that we haven't had time to go pick it all up yet.
awesome, what do you guys use the pintle on the back of the trailer for? hauling small equipment or hauling even more in a utility trailer or something? or both?
The only thing that's used for is hooking onto an arrow board when necessary during setup or tear down. Usually we have a pickup ready to hook them when we pickup, but I've seen situations where we didn't. We just drag it to a drop yard nearby if we use it, we don't travel far with anything on there.
Rarely, but we do from time to time put an arrow board on it to either haul it off the road after picking up a setup or setting up something with it. Usually just haul them with the pickup trucks, but there's been times we've done it on semi.
I've worked in and around Peoria a lot on the roads. That's cool you found my channel! Thanks for watching! Roads between Florida and Peoria IL differ when it comes to weather. We get freezing cold weather up here that really makes roads fall apart quicker. The Florida isn't 100% safe from bad roads though. The intense heat and UV radiation can cause asphalt to crack and form potholes. The salt air, particularly in the coastal areas, can lead to faster corrosion as well. 32% of Florida's major roads are in poor or mediocre condition - National Research Group 41% of Illinois' major roads are in poor or mediocre condition. - IL Road and Transportation Builders Association
Are y’all patching asphalt roads with concrete or does the camera just give the roads the color appearance of asphalt? Pretty interesting how different areas do things differently like Road Construction Ahead signs vs Road Work Ahead and using those flat white boards for tapers instead of barrels ect.
I've never seen a sign like that before that says "road construction ahead", I've only seen "road work ahead" and very rarely "men working" though sometimes there is a sign that just depicts a man with a shovel instead of having the text.
Nice to see some more of the set up, its been cool learning about all the different parts of concrete road patching
I'm glad you're liking the videos! Thanks for watching!
I love the videos
@@jaysurati1016 That's great! Thanks for watching!

I'll try to get more of it! Thanks for watching!
Always wondered how the traffic arrows worked cool video.

Appreciate you saying that! Thanks for watching!
Got my flagging and traffic certs love when I get put on highways for my company

Awesome video
Sadly there are no barrel cones in the Netherlands
Thank you! What kind of traffic control do you have over in the Netherlands?
@ARoadBuilder I'll make a video on it soon
@@ARoadBuilder They use panel barricades which are vertical and cones, but not barrels.
the tom tom car is the one used by bing for their street maps
Thanks! Will have to see if it shows us 😂
These videos are so satisfying! You guys pick up all of your cones and signs but where I live the don’t . Any explanation?

@ thank you for the information! I have always wondered why. Now I know. Keep up the great work and keep on doing a wonderful job!
Road work ahead
I sure hope it does! 😂
I love this too, I which I can help work
13:17 tomtom is a navigation app
And yes google have their own cars
Yeah I wasn't sure what tomtom was for. I just knew of Google street cars.
Dude at 2:25 has the same coat that I have, dang.
Popular coat!
Pretty awesome! Is the barricade trailer for the semi built by you guys or somebody pay someone to build it
We built it. We have 3 semi trailers like this that were built by the company.

i noticed the pintle hitch on the back of the trailer, do you guys actually pull stuff with it?

Yeah, our signs are all Road Construction Ahead. I just did Road Work Ahead for the channel for shortness 😅
@@ARoadBuilder So where is that then and are they MUTCD compliant? I would assume so, right, just rare?
@@xijaomao It's about all that I've seen used here in Illinois. Everything is to IDOT standard when we do traffic control.
