Nice. The best thing about these over my G6 are the processors. I opened my apps like you did and mine was as quick and I've had this phone since the spring of last year. My wife still loves and uses her V20 she's had since the last week of June last year 2017, and I honestly haven't seen a reason to upgrade...the G7 and V30 are sweet, but I'm content. The V40 Will be the phone to get...Thanks for the review!!
Art Dog yeah an OLED screen is much better in display as well as more battery efficient. Although LCD screens are much better now than ever before...but still OLED is the better technology.
The reason is because the lg g7 screen is warmer where as the lg v30 display is cooler... You can change the display looks on the lg g7 though...bin terms of sharpness, quality and accurate colours, the lg g7 is much better.

Some will say that force gpu rendering will take up more battery but I haven't noticed any substantial difference but by forcing 2d gpu rendering you're telling the gpu to handle fonts, android gui, web browser fonts, & more. All 2d images will now be handled by the gpu freeing up your cpu to do more logic base computations making everything snapper, searches faster, a.i. more responsive
I have a question. I saw a gaming review of the v30 and the guy in the video said that you have to turn on 2d you rendering(in the comments) to have it perform well in all games. Is that true? And can I tell it turn on only when playing games(or do I change the minimum fps settings in the games in the settings app)? Thanks alot!

The new models are never improved; always too many new features too quickly to just be a polished version of the previous model. They have to do it or sink against Samsung and Apple.
LG V30 still the best but G7 speed is insane
LG V30 still the best because:
1.No Notch
2.Speed is still fast
3.Much bigger battery

The v30, has usb c to hdmi output, no notch, sd835 still very capable and the screen on the g7 it's very stretch out for my taste, 19:9 it's my limit.

G7 is a little faster but when taking the price into account v30 is definitely more worth it (it's a 100 euros cheaper at the moment in Lithuania)

Turn on Developer options - Force gpu rendering - set window, transition, & animator duration to .5 for all 3 settings - you're welcome

v30's screen is better but it displays 50% less content than g7. Which means more scrolling.
