As a dad, I can confirm that you two were building more than a bike. You were building memories. Long after your son has outgrown the bike, he will remember building it with you. Great video.
It’s awesome to see that you got your son involved with you. He’ll remember this for a long time or maybe even try his hand at becoming a mechanic. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
this just makes me want to build my 1979 z50r and one day do this with my kids. wish i had this kind of relationship with my dad, he taught me a lot about mechanics but never with bonds like this.
Awesome and unique video.👏🏻 Not only because there’s not so many youtubers, building projects together with their kids, but because it’s a great quality content. Especially assuming that you’ve finished this awesome project, had a good time with your son and uploaded an awesome video about it.😎👍🏻
Sparky, you need to stop with the wife's kitchen knife. I used to "not use" my wife's knife too while cutting out gun placement in my Pelican 1750 gun cases. Then the epiphany of my electric bread knife hit me. I now have a set for my garage that isn't hers. Runs through foam padding like butter and allows you to shape the foam a little easier.Great builds by the way, keep them coming.
Roughly 3:20 seconds in was the most settle but assertive “correct yourself” I’ve ever heard since the show Monk lmao. My little 3 and half year old daughter will do something like that as I build my 97 z50 that’s going to be here in about 5 years lol and it’s big bored 88cc goes 52! That’s me at 195 on it too and I just did the exact mods they did beside keeping my rear tire and front 3.50-8
Looks amazing, classic 80s CR and XR (and some XL lol) color ways.... wish someone made a conversion kit to recreate the Z50R look on the new Monkey 125.... love the look of the new Monkey as it looks like one from the 60s through 80s, but it'd be cool for an option to make it look like either the old Z50R's or late Z50R's 😅
How durable would you say this paint combo is with the colorrite / 2k clear? I'm wanting to paint an xr250 frame the same way but questioning the durability compared to powder coating
Hey mate, is it true the front wheel is 2.5 wide and the rear is 3.5? Can i run a 3.5 on the front and a 3.5 on the rear aswell, or does it not fit? I hope you understand what im asking and can help!

You never out grow z50s 😂
Dad Goals 101, My Dad bought me a Honda 50 back in the 70s. Fat Tire, ugly yellow but my first Mini Bike. LOVED that thing.
turned out badass awesome, five out of five ichiban dad stickers !

Too cool. Lucky son, awesome dad!!

Super dads are the best! This is how you make great adults...
Great father/son project.
Glad I found this channel. I hope it grows.
Im restoring a 94 z50 right now, this is great
Thanks for shareing what will undoubtedly be special memories for you both.
Excellent👏 Fun build, great saving that iconic little bike and cool mods too. Good father and a very happy son.
I love it! Im rebuilding a z50r as well now and this came up as recommended! But in my case Im both the adult and the kid 😆

Awesome build. Love the conversion! Also cool that you involved your son and did it together.

Well done...nice job on the bike and spending quality time with your son.
Nice project to do with your son and a very nice outcome.

Well done on the old tire removal. Works every time for me.
Great build! Looking forward to more!
That little thing is awesome looking. Good job!
That turned out awesome!
3:45 - time for better Dad Jokes when you get busted so easily
I felt that I’m getting in trouble again while laughing 😂

The boy should keep that one forever. I don’t think I would have painted the engine though I think it looked great just cleaned up.
Cool build!!! Nice work
The top fork plate/clamp is super thick compared to the add on Amazon
Great video!!
This is a great video.
Awesome ✨
Where did you get the dust covers for the forks. Definitely want them when i put these fork to my sons bike
Subscribed! I love this
Did you use the universal white bonding primer on the frame and tank? Or what white primer was that if you don’t mind me asking
I grew up riding that z50, I use to do donuts in the gravel driveway till there were no rocks left in the spot and rubber was getting layed down.

And that folks is how you raise your sons! Don’t make them hold the flashlight, you get better lighting in your garage and build it together.
What collie paint is that? I’m digging it! Great build guys
Which risers did you guys get with that handle bar set up?
I subed because of the bikes and beards shoutout

Dude, are you still making decals?
I need some for the NSR. 🤘
Not often, but if it's something I got saved I may be able to work something up
Do you remember when you made the decals for my NSR250?
Man, it’s been a long time.
Do them tires fit on the stock forks and swing arm?
Yes, on a Z50, check out my other video, it shows how
This is what UA-cam was made for .
Whst did those forks/front suspension come from?
Did you ever find out where he got them?
@@grantleneave2140 I never mate :(
