Others may have said already but the Needlenose combination is in reference to the *original* Skyquake from G1, who's jet teammates, the Predators, could attach to in jet mode.
I'm looking forward to all of the potential reuse for this mold. Obviously Dreadwing is an easy go-to, but I hope we get a G1 repaint with its 90's as hell color scheme (GPS withstanding). I would even be down for a Machine Wars Starscream or even Universe King Atlas.
Mine got delayed from Amazon (of course). It looks amazing, great review as always! I am going to be making a custom MW Starscream to go with my MW Megatron. Way too excited for that
The backpack and hollowness looks like it could be solved by getting rid of the front landing gear, that's what's blocking the front of the nosecone from sitting flush which would collapse everything else up neater.
You don't even have to remove it, all that's needed is to take the screws out and file the gap it is supposed to fit through a little, after that the nosecone can transform fully and everything will peg in.
Bro's from the same continuity as War For Cybertron and yet he's got engineering that feels straight of Galaxy Force/Cybertron. Can't wait for the Dreadwing repaint of this sucker.
I wouldn’t do that Dreadwing is supposed to be coming soon I’m just saying… be patient it will come soon I think he’s either a capsule (exclusive) or he’s the leader for Wave 4 (I know this because he was listed along with Skyquake and Armada Megatron)
oooooooooooooh this looks fantastic, there's stuff I really wasn't expecting, specially the alternate torsos, what a nice figure, can't wait to get it.
Can't wait to get this guy in hands , I personally can't afford him at the moment but my birthday is coming up and he is definitely one the top of my Birthday list .
Thanks for the review. It seems the ratchets on your copy is better than what That Toy Guy ended up with, so for once in a while you're actually lucky this time. Also, I looked at your review, then went back to his, then tried checking your review again and...UA-cam just hid it from me. Had to scroll way down to find it. So there's definitely some algorithm working against you there. You're still my favorite reviewer of all time so judging by the amount of your reviews I've seen, it SHOULDN'T try to hide you from me, but...I have no clue what's going on there. Yes, I did check his review first but only because it showed up randomly and I hadn't even planned to check this robot now.
The vehicle reminds me of Machine Wars Starscream I received from an uncle years ago. Looking it up on tfwiki, I've learned that that Starscream was a recolor of G1 Skyquake. I don't care about Skyquake, but if they sell Dreadwing or a Machine Wars Starscream with this mold, I'd probably snatch one of them up. Edit: Did not yet inish the video before commenting.
The transformation on the shoulder is like the Commander Class figure Dreadwing.but then the legs gave me the surprise Pikamee face. It's unfortunate he won't be able to transform into the Guardian Mode. Anyways, awesome toy in both the jet (which the wing span doesn't matter since he has three thrusters for maximum take, if in real life could actually work) and the robot mode with the Minigun. I just love the Minigun so much.
I will actually defend the jet mode's stubby wings and wide body, since that's the whole concept behind Lifting body aircraft (Which have basically no wings), or even something like the J35 Draken, since a good chunk of it's wing surface is dedicated to engine intakes.
I would be more Happy if they make the Deluxe Class version of the G1 Predators, they better make them attach on top of Prime Skyquake just like the G1 Skyquake, in fact this Prime Skyquake has some Design Elements with his G1 Namesake.
You're missing a part of the transformation that every reviewer that I've watched has missed except for PrimeVsPrime! The canopy opens because its supposed to thread between the wings before you snap them together! Its weird, but I like it because I've never seen that engineering before!
For me, I like my legacy transformers prime figures to be accurate to the transformers prime TV show, no matter if the mold that they decide to go with is accurate to the show or not. bulkhead did it perfectly, Sky quake here has the option. And also, Arcee has the option. Knock out on the other hand, they weren’t even trying.
@@purplewolfranger22 I mean, the boxy vehicle mode fits bulkhead. it would probably fit his rival, break down more, but we’ll see if this gets remolded.
Hello Baltmatrix! He could fly, it's just a question of speed. Look at the F-104 or the X-15. It works for me as a SIFI jet. However, i'm not happy with the lack of ankle tiltage of the robot mode at that level of price.
I think they had tried to design in the fashion of Transformers Powermasters in the comic books where two decepticons combine into a space jet. Individually the two became two basic jets. Looks like they missed their mark
Is Baltmatrix unaware of G1 Skyquake’s compatibility with the smaller jets? The combination with Needlenose is a reference to that. Presumably Needlenose will be remolded into one of them.
The gap on the sides is unfortunate but nothing else could have been done without sacrificing the movement range of the arms. The needlenose combination is a little lame but needlenose himself wasn't too great anyway. Kind of a jet connected to a guy type of figure. Overall an admirable effort but armada optimus prime is still the one to beat in the upcoming legacy figures if you can stomach the commander price. Despite being a little lacking in paint that figure is virtually perfect and will jump in value if overload/jetfire manifest.
For keeping the shoulder butterflies in place and fixing the gaps in his chest, you have to fold the cockpit and collapse it more than you'd think. It takes more force than I'd like but it works perfectly and fixes up everything with the torso. I'll post a link here to the fix i found. ua-cam.com/video/qkP0QyKbpT4/v-deo.html
don't overestimate the value of wings in aircraft. there are fighter jets that can lose an entire wing and still fly, with a triple engine and smooth fuselage like that it wouldn't surprise me if this jet mode could just bruteforce itself into the air.
You have to remember, legacy is not completely accurate to the seasons they are representing, look at bulkhead, not even the same vehicle, arcee, not show accurate etc but this figure does look good anyway.
"x gimmick is dumb and silly" man, balt just sounding like a grouchy old man nowadays and he's been repeating this statement for so many times for the past releases, it's a toy they do silly things that kids find cool. Normally I just watch vids and move on but this comment is so frequent it's annoying. I still think Skyquake is a cool figure, not gonna pick him up but gonna wait on a dreadwing repaint.
Others may have said already but the Needlenose combination is in reference to the *original* Skyquake from G1, who's jet teammates, the Predators, could attach to in jet mode.
the Needlenose combination is supposed to be like G1 Skyquake and the predators since they could interact like that
I'm looking forward to all of the potential reuse for this mold. Obviously Dreadwing is an easy go-to, but I hope we get a G1 repaint with its 90's as hell color scheme (GPS withstanding). I would even be down for a Machine Wars Starscream or even Universe King Atlas.

oh, that MAchine Wars version looks AMAZING! I have the original Machine Wars figure and love it...that big beautiful brick
I don't care about Prime toys, but can't wait for the G1 Skyquake remold/repaint.
I may pick up two of these , one to keep as Skyquake amd the other to make Dreadwing.

At 1:22, it was dreadwing in the Transformers Prime cartoon, not dirge
Thanks. I keep thinking it's Dirge since they are both blue/gold.
Can't wait to get this guy in hands , I personally can't afford him at the moment but my birthday is coming up and he is definitely one the top of my Birthday list .
The Blue jet is Dreadwing not Dirge.
I don’t blame him though despite them being very different characters in the long run they do share the same color scheme
Dreadwing is accidentally called “Dirge” instead.

So many redeco Potentials. But this one is going to be my favorite. Criminally underused character.
This would make a great custom Sky Shadow because of the vehicle mode.
Seeing Skyquake with his cannon I'm reminded of "Ol' Painless" from Predator.
Looks more like what I'd expect a WFC or FOC version of him to look like
One of my shoulder wings flew off into another dimension the first day I had him. I cannot find it ANYWHERE!
I will actually defend the jet mode's stubby wings and wide body, since that's the whole concept behind Lifting body aircraft (Which have basically no wings), or even something like the J35 Draken, since a good chunk of it's wing surface is dedicated to engine intakes.
The vertical stabilizers are supposed to be at a 45 degree angle according to every official image, including the box art.

Good news, the unsubscribe then resubscribe thing worked.
The jet mode is a thing of beauty.
Prime vs Prime showcase that the shoulders for skyquakes does lock into place.
I like how it's combining assets of the g1 and prime designs
Cool figure because it combines with needlenose.
I’d be interested in a G1 Skyquake repaint.
Is there a review on the custom work?
We might be getting dread wing, don’t know about smokescreen. or Starscream and BB.

@@haydenreviewscustomcombos fits doesn't mean accurate to the TV show. Your comment makes literally 0 sense.
@@purplewolfranger22 I end up confusing myself a lot. but, I really do think this mold would fit breakdown better.
Indifferent to Skyquake (and Prime). But I look at this as a potentially great custom piece for a Vehicon Jetstorm (the toy design, not the show one).

I want an Autobot repaint of this somehow. Just make an Autobot out of this mold, cause it's cool as hell and I want one, but I don't want Cons.
King Atlas was repainted from G1 Skyquake. If there is to be an Autobot repaint, I would want it to be him.

1:23 No, it was Dreadwing
the legs remind me of the Robotech Alpha Fighter legs
And the feet look like the Valkyrie from MACROSS.
@@TheLostBoy1974 kinda sorta, at least the front half.
Skyquake & Dreadwing
hmm some designer has been playing with the alpha fighter
I would put silver paint lightly on the blade edge
Ngl i kinda want to see habro use this mold for TF prime megatron
Where’s the menasor video?

I haven’t been here in a long time…
No dreadwing ?!
4:50 I’d rather have that play option than not have it.
Looks like the back is supposed to be pushed in. I would ask Hasbro about it
Where is Transformers Legacy evolution animated universe prowl (get it at Hasbro pulse)
it could still fly, but it would need loads of thrust.
Dreadwing, not Dirge. But close.
It was Dreadwing not Dirge.
Why can’t any toy reviewer fix the back? Do I have to do it myself??
You know this thing's not a bomber plane, right?
Love it!😮

Love the model, but egads... he needs better colours.
You need to fold in the nose cone BEFORE you drop the torso together
Cool
