This video is a testament to why you should not try to 'keep pace' with partying rockstars.. or really, any 'party people' Edit: it's also a cautionary tale about pushing people and starting shit. Don't do it. Ever. You have no idea who or 'what' you're pushing around. Leave people alone, yeah? You might just get your teeth kicked in, or even buried in a shallow grave.
The day Josh Homme picked up a microphone, the world became a better place. There are two, maybe three vocalist in rock'n roll that can really grab a hold of one's soul. Josh Homme is one of them. Chris Cornell would be the other.
I still think of Josh as a guitarplayer who also ended up doing vocals than someone whos primarily a, singer. He is a super awesome singer with a nice distinctive voice though.
I listen to this a lot, and it even feels like every time I was drunk witrh my buddies in the city on a sweltering hot saturday in the summer. Stuff is...happening... and no matter what it was we just went with it and had fun and then later...you called WHO to come get us? So that's why he's so mad. And I did WHAT in his bathtub before I passed out? No seriously, I did that? And he's mad at only ME?
I remember Homme from kids older than me listening to Kyuss, then I caw him in Qotsa and thought the band had timeless stuff to offer, each couple of years I check them expecting them going to shit, yet they get better. Hats off to the band, vids are also always ones thay don't age. This is what you call genius
Smooth Sailing, I Sat by the Ocean, I Appear Missing (and some more I'm forgetting).... so many classic tracks on Like Clockwork. QotSA might be the most consistent band of the last 15+ years.
jesus that was directed well. i dont see much use of the on-body holster cam but this was possibly the most visually striking and gorgously fucked use. great work everyone involved, and i'm so happy to see good music be given visuals that compliment it in this strange future time of musical existence.
This video was directed by Hiro Murai, who also directed the videos for: - Childish Gambino - This is America - Childish Gambino - 3005 - Flying Lotus and Kendrick Lamar - Never Catch Me - Spoon - Do You Not to mention he's directed most of the episodes of the show Atlanta
Hell is but the temple of the closed mind.... lyrical genius right there 👌🏻. I don't care how many years/decades go by.. this song will never get old to me
To me, this video represents QotSA's style perfectly. The sorta buzzed out daze, blurred memories and the next day hangover just fits with their music. Ever since the Feel Good Hit Of The Summer
QOTSA will forever hold a special place in my heart. They are like no other band on the planet; incredibly original, cutting-edge, and cool. As Dave Grohl said, "The best rock 'n roll band in the world"...
Shinagawa station...qotsa has literally stalked me everywhere I’ve gone in Japan since Lullabies to Paralyze...its a good thing I love this god damn band
Holy hell, I was listening to this track while studying. I look up and see a foot being buried and had to rewind to watch the whole video. That was an epic ride for this awesome song.

4:10 is the musical equivalent of being on a trip. Just like the video. Its so stange to be heard in a kind of mainstream song. Im not complaining i love it.
It's always been hard for me to pick a favorite anything; movie, band, food, etc., but I decided the QOTSA is my favorite band. Everything that Homme makes with Queens is gold.
If you have ever been a westerner in Japan and have found yourself inexplicably partying with a group of salarymen and businessmen, you know this video is actually a documentary.
stuporstar Well, ...Like Clockwork is a criminally underrated abum that was overshadowed by pop releases at the time, which sucks, because Queens of the Stone Age are truly one of the most talented and musically interesting bands around today. Maybe ever.
I've been watching QOTSA videos all afternoon. This is the first one I've seen today filmed in HD. I've never really noticed the difference until now. Man, what a difference.
I don't think anyone really understands. Josh Homme has reached a level of Coolness only achieved by The Rat Pack, Elvis, Steve McQueen, Bill Murray, and Bruce Campbell before him. It's impossible to be nearly as cool as this guy. Josh Homme is the new king of Cool. *Long Live the King baby.*
This was played at my wedding for our 'first dance'. On record too just to make it that much sweeter. We got so carried away, we forgot to invite everyone else to join in with us... :)
Yeah, because gingers come with extra punching power. I'm not sure I'd want to party with him, but can I hire him as a bodyguard? Oh, he's got a job already? Damn.
I just realized on my millionth rewatch that the guy at the bar who gets hit with a beer bottle is Troy. @1:35
WHAAAAAT
"What did you do last weekend Josh?"
"Oh, you know. The usual."
Oh shit. I'm here again.😊
😂😂😂
this is probably my fave QOTSA song.. the groove is just sick
SO COMPLETE AHHH I LOVE THIS SONG
@@reflejodelosrios same here! That guitar/analogue synth line before the end...I get some NIN vibes here! LUV IT!
This is my theme song lmao
Born to Hula
I actually don't care for alot of QOTSA material but this song and "I sat by the ocean" are two of my favorites.
took 8 years for me to realize how brilliant this video truly is
Same here, this one's crept under my skin play by play.
I see this as the best video they ever did. Maybe ever will.
This song makes you feel a little high. It's perfection
yep
Makes you feel drunk.
Josh is the literal embodiment of "if you have all kinds of fucked up problems in your life, just write really awesome songs about them"
shit went from 0 to 100 real fucking quick
Haha that it did.....
I would like A bowl of Miso soup
What's crazy is that's exactly what can happen when you're drinking hard with hard drinkers.
In Mr. Yoshi's defense he thought he was slaying a demon at the time, so... accident?
“That escalated quickly!” Ron Burgundy
Brilliant! This is a classic right here. Shows that music videos aren't quite dead yet.
I never thought anyone believed they were? Some of the most creative music videos I've seen have been in the last 6-9 years.
I think this video was inspired by an older video from - Franz Ferdinand - Ulysses.
No they aren't this is proof makes me happy every time
yo i actually didnt get the golden ray gun. You'll be hearing from my lawyers shortly.
This video is a testament to why you should not try to 'keep pace' with partying rockstars.. or really, any

I’m fairly certain QOTSA are on a constant loop in the depths of hell
4:10. THAT riff. That riff messed with my head in many ways. It's absolutely brutal, yet so simple.
Gives me chills each time.
In all seriousness these guys are probably a blast to hang out with. I hope they never stop making music.
Definitely are
Josh is a brilliant guy, funny AF and kind too :)
rock cannot survive without bands like these
😀 👍👍
Love that riff and rhythm so sleazy and funky like the devil's own lap dance!
the devil does lap dances?💦
my birthday parties better go like this
I had this on repeat like 45 times today in the car.
the opening riff to this song is literally the jankiest thing and i love it
Fun fact: Same Director as "This is America" by Childish Gambino (Hiro Murai)
and some episodes of Atlanta. Guy's a bona fide genius.
This song should be renamed to This Is Japan
@@Megaalith it's in Korea...
no wonder why I loved this clip so much. Now it makes perfect sense.
Yeah that's really sick and not only directed episodes for Atlanta also did a couple of ones for HBO's Barry

Billie Joe Armstrong for me too

I think it's John frusciante in the runnings for #3

those 5 mins told a better story than all 3 hangover movies
I’m not so sure budy
Brilliant
But i am still wanduring what the hell that dog creature was
Cringe gen z
Those are fun movies, why the hate?
i've only just seen this for the first time and i have a whole new appreciation
hilarious concept.
Also one of the best videos I've ever seen. How did they make it more hardcore than they are?
i did NOT expect this to be the video to this song AT ALL. O.o
i see you in nearly every song with an opinion, are you a music critic?
Diogo Filipe Rocha
i already know
Potassium why ask questions you already know the answer to?
This is one of the craziest videos ever... a Japanese, high class, corporate Clockwork Orange.
I know your comment is old but it really is just Japanese Clockwork Orange. They even engage in the old ultra violence
...Like Clockwork Orange
i don’t know if you guys see it but it reminds me of Clockwork Orange
Reminds me of my twenties, minus the violence.
Japanese salary men on a normal night out
Definitely one of their funkiest songs, man, such a jam
I listen to this a lot, and it even feels like every time I was drunk witrh my buddies in the city on a sweltering hot saturday in the summer. Take It There by Massive Attack is also very good! Both the song and the music video (starring John Hawkes)
I LOVE JAPAN and queens of the stone age so useful for total perfection in music generally this video oooohhhh quintessentials
Looks like an evening you´ll never forget...
Hell is but the temple of the closed mind.... lyrical genius right there 👌🏻.
I don't care how many years/decades go by.. this song will never get old to me
You can't find a single interpretation on this song and it kills me
A dream of mine is to have a night out like this in Japan!
Well this is a hidden gem.
One of my favorite music videos
Best Band Ever!! wish the new clip was a video.
This song "came back around" for me and I've been playing it on repeat for the past week. Forgot how amazing the video & song are.
Hell of a video, still rocking it in 2023 lads
Love the David Bowie influence, through Trent Reznor vibe. Love the spaces in between the notes making it groove!
I've been geeking out about this very thing. So much Bowie. Glorious!
I wish i could thumbs up again 👍 every time Isee any QOTSA video.
This is the best short story of the corporate world I have ever seen.
"YOU KILLED THE FUCKING DRUMMER YOU IDIOT!!!!"
So I heard that Japan would not release "...Like Clockwork" due to censorship issues.
Josh Homme paid the Japanese music censorship board a visit...
Jordan Gray this is my favourite comment
They get the Pearl Jam foot.
true story
Mikey said the same thing about Japan with the Mini Mansions Gummy Bear video or images (Mikey's tongue with Gummy Bear).
He probably beat the shit out of them 😂

Still one of best soundracks to go down town ❤
This one of their best videos.. So creative and abstract.. QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE.. their like pirates with the gift of music .. genius band!!!!
What a pefect song to listen while you're totally wasted, it gets me so fucking pumped for some reason lol
This is top 3 the best guitar solo
Love this song, love this clip.👍🤘

My favorite music video ever
I CANNOT get enough of this song or video
It's all in motion
No stoppin' now
I've got nothin' to lose
And only one way up
I'm burning bridges
I destroy the mirage
Oh, visions of collisions
Fuckin'bon voyage
It's all smooth sailing
From here on out
I got bruises and hickies
Stitches and scars
Got my own theme music
It plays wherever I are
Fear is the hand
That pulls your strings
A useless toy
Pitiful play thing
I'm inflagranti
In every way
It's all smooth sailing
From here on out
I'm gon' do the damage
That was getting done
God only knows
Where love vacations
If reason is priceless
There's no reason to pay for it
It's so easy to see
And so hard to find
Make a mountain of a mole hill
And the mole hill is mine
I hypnotize you
And no one can find you
I blow my load
Over the status quo
Here we go
I'm a little bit nonchalant
But I dance
I'm risking it always
No second chance
It's gonna be smooth sailing
From here on out
I'm gon' do the damage
'Til the damage is done
God only knows
So mind your behavior
Follow prescriptions
Of your bloated savior
Every temple is gold
Every is designed
Hell is but the temple
Of the closed mind
Closed mind
Closed mind
Closed mind
It's all smooth sailing
From here on out

Choreography and scene designs are brilliant!
Ive seen this video literally 50 times and just noticed Troy in the Bar 😂.The Epitome of friendship, Brilliance.
Core memory unlocked
I was lucky enough to meet the band on Era Vulgaris tour. Josh is so sweet and down to earth.
I must say, I really like the people in the comment section. I think I finally found a place I can call Homme.

That riff is the sexiest thing I have heard in years. Never mind Josh's voice! Damn, this is hot all over.
This is one of the better music vids I've seen lately and makes me wish I was cool enough to hang out with Josh Homme.
This is quiet simply the greatest song/video ever made.
I did a semester at Seoul National University when I was in college. I can attest to this. This is life in South Korea. My god was it glorious.
Perfection...
One of the best music videos i watched in a longggg time
