Great songs on the album as a whole also, its different, and different is aways welcome :) This album, Mogwai's one and Concrete and Gold by Foo Fighters are going to be the greatest albums of the year in my opinion. Great bands evolve over the years. As they travel the world they pick up new influences and experiences which shine through their music. Each Queens album sounds vastly different to the last. This is all part of their evolution. Chill out naysayers, get the album and listen to it over and over again. You'll start to discover hidden snippets of gold and each song will grow on you. Give Queens a chance, they deserve that don't you think?!
MsIndigo78 ... Words of wisdom and ones we should all adhere to! People are far too quick to judge and critique! Honestly, how many songs, the more you listen to them have "grown on you"? Listen again and I'm sure eventually, like before The Queens will become 1 with your ears!
I've had it on repeat for a few days now. Like Clockwork has already aged like a fine wine, and I say this as someone who began listening around Rated R/ Songs for the Deaf. In fact I've seen them live twice now. The first was between the 2 albums I mentioned, and the 2nd was the Like Clockwork tour. Two very different, but very good shows. I have not gone out of my way to find it, so I was not aware people are criticizing the album, but I don't understand why anyone would.
Once again, I wonder where all you expert level QOTSA fans crawled out of regarding this album's style and production. Josh has ALWAYS praised and used super dry drum production (major influences being early ZZ top albums) and the way the drums are produced on Villains is a very natural and logical evolution of that ideal. It fits PERFECTLY with the music, and sounds very much like "real drums" no matter how hard you might personally be struggling to hear nuances or cymbals within the mix. Not the band's fault, not my fault, get better at listening.
I will never forget the day I saw QOTSA - No one knows, they have changed my musical life. Now I can't imagine my playlist without a single qotsa song there. This album is definitely must have for me. Thank you Qotsa for new inspiration. _\m/
Once again QOTSA have done did it again. Done made something that I can just listen to over and over again and at a particularly trying time in my life. Thank You.

>THIS ISN'T QUEENS! WTF HAPPENED?! WE WANT THE SAME ALBUM OVER AND OVER AGAIN! This entire album is 10/10. Some of the best work they've ever written, and probably the most fun I've had listening to a Rock album in years. Stop hating, or stop listening.
Seriously this is arguably the best album they've put out. Most bands this late in their career put out serviceable songs but there are at least 3 or 4 on this album that rival stuff on their earlier material.
Thier last album took a few listens and then a few more closer listens to realize I was falling for it... And now some of the songs I paid the least attention to are my very favorites. This band is notorious for getting better with each listen, a sure sign of a truly talented group..... And as far as influences on this track, makes the think budgie meets zeppelin meets qotsa .... Some of the best
Well...I turned this on this morning at 5.30am and listened and thought, eh...I am not feeling it. But then I listened again (honestly probably fifteen times in a row) and boom. Do yourself a favour and listen with some decent bass headphones and hear Mikey go. And then the duet of slide guitars from Dean and Troy, it sounds ace. I heard it live - sounds much more raw. I'm disappointed that the drums feel and hear more like background - but we can't have it all. I get why hardcore Rated R/Songs for the D won't like this. I actually love that Josh has evolved with his albums. Nothing annoys me more than when bands just sound like they're in a cycle of self-plagiarism. I love that Rated R and Songs won't be repeated again - they exist in the specific time and in a specific place in the band and my history that I love to keep in there. But the few songs and snippets we have so far tells me that Villains will have something for the old school fans, and something new for us to dig ourselves into. Evil has landed...and its in my head....so I need it.
Needs to be listened to on high quality speakers/headphones for sure. They did not compress and boost the high/mids of the bass much at all so they're pretty much inaudible on laptop speakers. When you listen on good shit though it's awesome cause it gives you that big counterplay sound of high and low.
Nick Osbaldiston I first listened to it on my headphones and fell in total love with. Sounded so pure. Then I put it on my soundbar speaker and it sounded *completely* different. Almost like two different songs.
I think people is hating the "production" on this album just because they heard it's by mark ronson, chill out, the songs are good, QOTSA are making great music

They’ve released some pretty good stuff, I can say that.
First riff is so LedZeppelin-esque it made me smile and like it instantly. The whole song is full of riffs and I love it. Great songs on the album as a whole also, its different, and different is aways welcome :) This album, Mogwai's one and Concrete and Gold by Foo Fighters are going to be the greatest albums of the year in my opinion. And on a side note, thanks for posting them on UA-cam for listening.
Yes there are a lot of Zeppelin influences in the whole album and for me one of the best albums in 2017. and absolutely great collaboration by Iggy Pop and Josh Homme on ''Post Pop Depression'' in 2016.
C&G was okay but it's one of the Foos' weakest efforts imo. This album is better but by no means a masterpiece. Still, I'm glad both bands are still releasing decent material and I'm not mad about either album.
I'm so glad I'm just now getting into this band. A lot of you sound like over pretentious hipsters because this song doesn't fit some mold of what you think they should sound. I think this is incredible.
Beyond incredible and already standing up to the test of time. It's TIGHT.
Cheers to the most underrated band of all time, they are AMAZING!!!
[Intro]
Close
Come close
[Verse 1]
Going on a living spree
Plenty wanna come with me
You don't wanna miss your chance
Near-life experience
Faces making noise
Say, be good girls and boys
It ain't half empty or full
You can break the glass, or drink it all
Dig it
[Chorus]
Close
Come close
Close
Come close
[Verse 2]
A blown up cabaret
The last float on parade
'Cause their sleep got left behind
Every puzzle piece of mind
Handshake in facade
Play the fool or playing God
Just for God's sake play along
Well, you can have a laugh, hit it
Du-du-du-du-duah!
Duuu-du-dudu
Du-du-du-du-duah!
Duuu-du-dudu
Du-du-du-du-du
[Bridge]
Diving
Falling, no they're different
I fall beyond definitions now
Commence
[Guitar Solo]
[Chorus]
Close
Come close
Close
Come close
[Verse 3]
Going on a living spree
You really wanna come with me
They couldn't miss the chance
Near-life experience
[Bridge]
We're all a little tangled
We're all a little mangled
Yeah, unfold, let it go
Yeah, unfold, let it go
Yeah, unfold, let it go
Yeah, unfold, let it go
Here.. we..
[Outro]
.. come!
Here we come
Here we come
Here we come
Get outta' the way
Here we come
Get outta' the way
Matters not
What the people say
Matters not
What the people say
'Cause here we come
Here we come
Here we come
Get outta the way
André Prexedes thanks, now everyone on my neighborhood will listen to me singing 😎
I believe the sli-[?] is "sleep".
Thanks for this.
André Prexedes Anyone know what tuning the guitars are in?
André Prexedes blown up cabaret
It feels like forever for the full album release, if i die after listening to this album i'll die the happiest man alive.
I don't know what I like better, the drums or the guitar...
@Guilherme S. Sousa The bass is great too
B A S S
Love this song! I just like that they're doing what they want and aren't afraid to change how they sound
Love it when a great band gives us a new thing all the time. Not same same, same same, same same.
Listening to this song at 37,000 feet while flying above clouds is pure bliss
What the hell, i just can't stop playing this song in a loop! XD
Hey I didnt know you were into qotsa😂😂
Me fucking either! I’m loving that bass line and groove! It makes me want to write!
hjoly shti
This outro is like OMG
So much guitar and they all blend so well and the drummer is just doing his thing makes it such a good song
I like this tune a lot more than the first single from Villans.
it is going to be a great album
Agreed. I'm not sure what I think of The Way You Used To Do... Mixed feelings. Sometimes I like it, sometimes it's just 'meh'.
The Way is good it's just too repetitive for how long it is. The guitar tone is cool but after that long it gets really grating
Reid Alldabooks . I heard the way you used to do and thought I would hate this album
that opening though...
this song is the definition of cool
Anyone else just totally LOVING this album? The music gods have surely heard our prayers..
Significantly better and more interesting than The Way You Used To Do (not saying that song is bad, but this one is definitely the better of the two)
That bass line adds some incredible depth here.
They are really talented. And they stay rock obviously.
“It ain’t half empty or full
You can break a glass, or drink it all”
favorite line
My life philosophy in one verse!
The hand thats moving the devil-puppet is the hand of the protagonist from QOTSA's "I appear missing" vid. Go figure the rest ;)
Okay but why is this the perfect song for feeling like a classy ruler
I really love that bass line!
MsIndigo78 agreed!
I agree, 1st listen through of the evil has landed meh, now f yeah

5:30 is so fundamentally QOTSA. I love hearing the change very time I listen to this song
Possibly the best QotSA song ever written. Has everything you want. Love it.
this solo guitar makes me feel alright
I will never forget the day I saw QOTSA - No one knows, they have changed my musical life. Now I can't imagine my playlist without a single qotsa song there. This album is definitely must have for me. Thank you Qotsa for new inspiration. _\m/
Once again QOTSA have done did it again. Done made something that I can just listen to over and over again and at a particularly trying time in my life. Thank You.
One of the few remaining bands in the eyes of mainstream that rock hard and keep that sexy spirit alive...
I don't care what anyone says, this album is awesome so far! Can't wait to hear the rest of it!
Justin Light its great
Im with you! It drops on my birthday and I'm purposely waiting for it as a gift from the gods. Screw all these people downloading the leaked copy!
+Filipe I'm your torpedooooo
Macz SCRAAATCH LIKE A CAT AND BARK LIKE BITCH
In my opinion this is one of the best qotsa songs!!
Man, that guitar riff is everything!
since I don't see many positive comments, I'll leave one...
This song is fucking awesome.
What are you talking about? I see nothing but positivity.
love the intro of this paired with the outro....they should have Ted on stage to solo the last part out sometime. ua-cam.com/video/_onagRhKN5E/v-deo.html
Now that time has passed.. the likes are representative
NLM unfortunately... there are loads
@@Orlando-go1tb 2 years ago lmao, that was a little different
>THIS ISN'T QUEENS! WTF HAPPENED?! WE WANT THE SAME ALBUM OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
This entire album is 10/10. Some of the best work they've ever written, and probably the most fun I've had listening to a Rock album in years. Stop hating, or stop listening.
Seriously this is arguably the best album they've put out. Most bands this late in their career put out serviceable songs but there are at least 3 or 4 on this album that rival stuff on their earlier material.
Justin Widle I agree and I have heard neither of their albums. Just because of this song.
Justin Widle I WILL CONTINUE LOVING
Haha, anyone who doesn't like things I like is a 'hater'. Right?
dude this album is one of my favs love it
Thier last album took a few listens and then a few more closer listens to realize I was falling for it...
'specific time and in a specific place'... You couldn´t said it better.
thanks bro
Needs to be listened to on high quality speakers/headphones for sure. They did not compress and boost the high/mids of the bass much at all so they're pretty much inaudible on laptop speakers. When you listen on good shit though it's awesome cause it gives you that big counterplay sound of high and low.
ZiPolishHammer totally man...
Nick Osbaldiston I first listened to it on my headphones and fell in total love with. Sounded so pure.
Then I put it on my soundbar speaker and it sounded *completely* different.
Almost like two different songs.
This album seems to have a perfectly awesome aesthetic of chaotic badassery
This bass is so delightful...
So far, the most catchy song from Villains, IMHO
gosponbreeze I Might Hate Orphans??
EvitalovesThings I Must Have Opioids
EvitalovesThings I Missed Her Ostrich
Is male have ovaries?
Hearing this live at Riotfest 2017 WAS A NEAR LIFE EXPERIENCE! Years later still gives me shivers!!
The guitar solos are magic
I loved Villains, just wanted to say it.
I think this was the fastest I've clicked on a notification in a long time.
Paralysis by Analysis ain't that the truth!!!
Paralysis by Analysis Same
Paralysis by Analysis same
Paralysis by Analysis same
Paralysis by Analysis same lol
5:48 - The guitar in this section is amazing.
This song fuckin goes places, man
There are only 9 songs on the album I didn't think they would release anymore singles early and I honestly didn't want them to
to be fair the songs are pretty long. this album is probably over the 45 minute mark that most normal albums reach (which for me is about 12-15 songs)
TheSroolik 48 minutes!
Yup, longer than Clockwork actually.
i was right weren't i
they gotta tickle the tip, just to keep us hard
Like Clockwork is still my favorite album, but this is a VERY close second. QOTSA is like a fine wine, only getting better with age
Heard this song when it came out, a few months ago, and thought "meh". Now I just can't stop playing it on repeat! Soooo obsessed with it!
I never realized that so many of the songs I liked but couldn’t find were all made by this group.
Opening with that crunchy guitar riff and killing it with the face melting solos!
I think people is hating the "production" on this album just because they heard it's by mark ronson, chill out, the songs are good, QOTSA are making great music
Or maybe I just find it bland and boring? I like QOTSA but that doesn't mean I have to like everything they make.
What is this 😴😴😴
It's too tame and compressed to my ears, sounds monotone and muffled.
I don't like the production because it sounds like Queens have been restrained when they should be flying
THAT'S THE WORD!! Tame, they sound tame and compressed, thank you
This is the one stuck in my head the most, to the point where I have rinsed this album to and from work for over a week but here I am on youtube because the CD is still in my car. This album is going to get me a speeding ticket I swear.
