Mikey Shoes is fucking on point here, perfect backupvocals and those basslines are just dirty!
The Fontaines I can see how it sounds like an mm song but I've been listening to soothe much of the first album mini mansions 😂

Tammy Sickness A lot of the lyrics are wrong there but good effort
Sorry i just copy from google so i can practice (i'm from argentina) , thanks for telling me
Tammy Sickness ahh dont worry. Im not trying to be mean or anything. 👍
@Tammy Sickness I totally agree with you. We have so much in common. Let's date each other, baby.
This album is another F*$King TRIUMPH for QOTSA...just shows how versatile they are, and how ADDICTIVE they are to listen to...one of the best bands of the last 20 years, IMO.
@@ДмитроСавранський-г7ц If shitty pop sounds like Queens of the Stone Age, I'm in.
The riff from 4:00 - 4:12 always gives me goosebumps, damn, I absolutely love that riff.
Oh, yeah, but... Fuck me, this was 5 years ago... Anyway... For me it's at 5.10 when the bridge ends and explodes into the breakdown. Such a huge rush when that rhythm section slams in and just shakes everything right the fuck up.
@@richarquis I always crank up the volume in the car when that part hits. Still gotta remind myself not to drive like a madman despite the adrenaline rush though lol
I love the Zeppelin undertones. Makes me energetic and happy. They sound like their own music, it’s just an added bonus from a LZ fan!
I don't know if you know about Them Crooked Vultures, it's a band formed by Josh Homme on guitar and vocals, Dave Grohl on drums and John Paul Jones on bass
It sounds like Led Zeppelin if Led Zeppelin was a hipster indie band from the 2010's lol. That's not necessarily a band thing by the way.
I think Queens of the Stone Age has some rock classic sound, kind of like 70s rock sound but also a modern sound, I love this band
My first thought when this album came out was that it sounded like so many of my favorite old 70’s rock bands, I could name at least five influences off the top of my head immediately. A lot of Queens fans don’t dig this album and I just don’t get it. It’s so good.
@@ewiemama definitely sounds like 70s band.. Deep Purple & Led Zeppelin came into my mind
I used the rest of my data for this song
Edit: thanks for the love y’all I have good WiFi now so it’s been on an endless cycle for 4 years ❤️
granted the song is amazing, but when it starts up at 5:08 I JUST LOSE ALL CONTROL!!!
just gets you soooo hyped.
@@Yaooosteve the best part starts at 2:55 imo. the whole song is fucking dope in all honesty tho
Been in love with this song ever since i watched the live version a month ago 😃❤️😃 Love qotsa! So pumped for their new album!
The drumming is outrageously good.
You should see him live, it was one of the coolest things I've seen.
John Parkhill Agreed. Two solos and every detail in each song. Awesome.
Some Guy mars volta was silly to get rid of Jon T. They have even come out and said firing him was one of their biggest Mistakes as a band.
This song is utterly amazing. The attention to detail in the arrangement is sublime. Thank you for producing music that matters!!
I've been playing ,recording and touring for 30 years now.... IMO, this is a great track... People need to stop focusing on who worked on it and start rocking out.....
its like one of those awesome performing porn stars making sweet sweet real love to a guitar
I'm definitely picking up the "Them Crooked Vultures" production to it. Love it all.
I would like to differ here. It's important to know who produced the tracks or albums you like. You could get a fucking great surprise. And this album was produced by Mark Ronson. :)
Nothing better than start the day with a new song of Queens of the Stone Age.
Mikey's bass playing in this is mad
was too busy drooling over the guitars first listen but holy shit your right his bass work on this is pure fire on this! 😍
Callum Dineeno Mike is so awesome. When I saw them perform "I Appear Missing" on Letterman, I was mesmerized by his playing.
Agreed! "The Way You Used To Do" had me worried because in the mix there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of emphasis on Mikey's bass lines
This song was featured in The Grand Tour as well as Forza Horizon 4, I guess us car guys really like this one
WTF? I didn't even know that.
I was just listening to Queens, listened this song and I really liked it, and I am a car guy. LMAO
i discovered QOTSA because the "Little Sister" was on the track list for Midnight Club 2
Rook Mine Boi in NFS Payback appears another song called "The Way You Used To Do", but they appears in so many car games, the first song I heard about them was in a game called Destruction Derby Arenas, song called "Regular John", and I fall in love with them instantly, and later in NFSU2 the song called "In My Head" and after I buy that CD and I realyze that the song freatured in the same CD called "Little Sister" that appears in the game Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition, and there are more for sure, and as u see all from car games, I consider myself a petrolhead and thanks to that I also discovered bands like this one that become one of my favorites, the best ones for me.
Can someone just make an hour long mix of the final minute thirty? Saw them in Chicago last month and they did it for a solid 10 mins. Still not enough.

André Prexedes thanks, now everyone on my neighborhood will listen to me singing 😎
This song has been stuck in my head for the past 3 days, which is fine by me, it can stay stuck there as long as it wants.
@jimdick2809 It has been stuck there that long too. Banger tune. Epic band.
Are there really people that are taking issue with this album? I think it's brilliant.
Also, Josh is a fucking *fantastic* lyricist
Jamal Hellboy DiCaprio yikes man, I’ve never disagreed abt anything as much as ur comment
I think the writing is great I just dont like the production. I dont think it's a bad album at all I just think it could've been better
Josh isn't just good with lyric, he a good preformer over all. I genuinely think he has one of the best voices I've ever heard and the style of music he involves himself with is amazing
Unlike most 90s-00s rick bands QOTSA have been pumping out good songs and albums since they formed
you forgot to finish that;
"... pumping out good songs since they formed AND until after they released Songs for the Deaf when they suddenly went all faffy hair gel sleeveless shit with a side of no balls"
@@fargmonger5393 why are u here then if you don't like it? fuck off whiny beeeeetccchhhh ;)
This has such a them crooked vultures vibe, it's my favourite song on the album. Every time QOTSA do something different and it's amazing. Keep it up boys 👍
LunaSerenity That's because Them Crooked Vultures has Josh Homme as a lead singer.
i cant believe this. You come here telling them to keep it up, like you're their mother or something! YOU HAVE NO AUTHORITY OVER THEM, THEY'RE GONNA KEEP IT UP IF THEY WANT TO KEEP IT UP NOT IF YOU SAY SO! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!
Ben Zozic ha ha, i know ( or i hope so ) that you're joking but there are so many people who are easily triggered, it's so weird..
That outro is simply fantastic.
That bass kicks ass!

First riff is so LedZeppelin-esque it made me smile and like it instantly. The whole song is full of riffs and I love it. Great songs on the album as a whole also, its different, and different is aways welcome :) This album, Mogwai's one and Concrete and Gold by Foo Fighters are going to be the greatest albums of the year in my opinion. And on a side note, thanks for posting them on UA-cam for listening.
Yes there are a lot of Zeppelin influences in the whole album and for me one of the best albums in 2017. and absolutely great collaboration by Iggy Pop and Josh Homme on ''Post Pop Depression'' in 2016.
C&G was okay but it's one of the Foos' weakest efforts imo. This album is better but by no means a masterpiece. Still, I'm glad both bands are still releasing decent material and I'm not mad about either album.
Homme's unique guitar solos are genius. Idiosyncratic, creative, funny. Pretty much sums up the man. Rock on!!
WHAT A WAY TO START THE DAY WITH A NEW QOTSA SINGLE!!!
fuck. they've always been able to capture "classic rock" without being a gimmick in the modern era. this song proves it. it kicks so much god damn ass.
SUCH a good song to go for a drive to 🤤
QOTSA is just the last great band in rock history. Among the greatest.
I would love your input on our last video from our first album. It got the attention of one of my heroes Joe Bouchard (ex bass player founding members of BÖC) who is following us on Soundcloud but returns from people who likes same music is always the best. If you have just 3 minutes to listen and a bit more to comment, that would mean the world to me. Keep rockin' ua-cam.com/video/i1fVRW6z3n4/v-deo.html and Happy new year
The way he says "come close" gives chills everytime
Well...I turned this on this morning at 5.30am and listened and thought, eh...I am not feeling it. But then I listened again (honestly probably fifteen times in a row) and boom. Do yourself a favour and listen with some decent bass headphones and hear Mikey go. And then the duet of slide guitars from Dean and Troy, it sounds ace.
I heard it live - sounds much more raw. I'm disappointed that the drums feel and hear more like background - but we can't have it all.
I get why hardcore Rated R/Songs for the D won't like this. I actually love that Josh has evolved with his albums. Nothing annoys me more than when bands just sound like they're in a cycle of self-plagiarism. I love that Rated R and Songs won't be repeated again - they exist in the specific time and in a specific place in the band and my history that I love to keep in there.
But the few songs and snippets we have so far tells me that Villains will have something for the old school fans, and something new for us to dig ourselves into. Evil has landed...and its in my head....so I need it.
Needs to be listened to on high quality speakers/headphones for sure. They did not compress and boost the high/mids of the bass much at all so they're pretty much inaudible on laptop speakers. When you listen on good shit though it's awesome cause it gives you that big counterplay sound of high and low.
Nick Osbaldiston I first listened to it on my headphones and fell in total love with. Sounded so pure.
Then I put it on my soundbar speaker and it sounded *completely* different.
Almost like two different songs.
I know a lot of people may disagree, but I'm really liking the feel of this album so far.
LiTAQ Its not that I don't like it, I do.
It's just very different from what I'm used to hearing from QotSA and as others have mentioned, I am reminded of Them Crooked Vultures. That and although this is still very much Queens in its feel, there is a part of me that was hoping for something adding more songs that feel like their first album, or Songs For The Deaf...
LiTAQ Every album sounds different but yet so familiar. Don't know any other band who can pull that off.
One of the best modern bands of today
QOTSA is just the last great band in rock history. Among the greatest.

2:58 - 3:36 is one of the best bits ive ever heard in a song. way too good.
It’s mesmerizing. Both guitar riffs are great, and the backing riff gets more frantic as that section progresses. This song is perfect.
I like this tune a lot more than the first single from Villans.
Agreed. I'm not sure what I think of The Way You Used To Do... Mixed feelings. Sometimes I like it, sometimes it's just 'meh'.
The Way is good it's just too repetitive for how long it is. The guitar tone is cool but after that long it gets really grating
Reid Alldabooks . I heard the way you used to do and thought I would hate this album
What the hell, i just can't stop playing this song in a loop! XD
Me fucking either! I’m loving that bass line and groove! It makes me want to write!
5:10 from that moment i swear it gives me that old school '98 QOTSA vibe.the whole recording is sonic pleasure.
Best album of 2017!!! I hope they win every Grammy they got nominated for... QOTSA have been badass since 1998. Been listening to them since their first album!!!
Dont see how people say this doesnt sound like qotsa. This song is classic Queens. Especially from 5:00 on.
yeah, why use more than the first two strings on your guitar? is basically what anyone who says 5.00 onwards is the only good part of this song means. if you like hearing songs with only two chords go back to the 40s and fuck off trying to stop people progressing. Bands change over time. I love their old stuff. their new stuff isn't hitting as hard but its still quality in my opinion. point being, theres plenty of music to listen to. If you want something that sounds like THAT album.. listen to that fucking album rather than let it taint your view of this one. Most things we like are things we never even knew about at some point. give new stuff a chance.
it seems people just want lullabies with a 2018 sticker on it. fuck doing anything new..
Agreed. These derpers are only familiar with 'Puttin' on the Hits Queens'. Never really absorbed old school QOTSA.
This song makes you feel untouchable
It fills you with so much power
Significantly better and more interesting than The Way You Used To Do (not saying that song is bad, but this one is definitely the better of the two)
It feels like forever for the full album release, if i die after listening to this album i'll die the happiest man alive.
One of the best f*cking songs I've ever heard. I'm gonna make a guitar and bass cover of this.
This is my first time hearing QOTSA, and I must say it's pretty great...
wow. they literally have a song for every mood and occasion. Check out lullabies to paralyze, rated r and the self titled. thank me later
I can tell you this: Queens of the Stone Age have been around for ages now. I first heard of them back in 2006 when “Go With The Flow” was featured in Gran Turismo 4, then I heard them five years later in Gran Turismo 5 with “The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret”. They’ve released some pretty good stuff, I can say that.
"Here we come" I got chills.
Listening to this song at 37,000 feet while flying above clouds is pure bliss
Love this song! I just like that they're doing what they want and aren't afraid to change how they sound
The hand thats moving the devil-puppet is the hand of the protagonist from QOTSA's "I appear missing" vid. Go figure the rest ;)
Cheers to the most underrated band of all time, they are AMAZING!!!
Love it when a great band gives us a new thing all the time. Not same same, same same, same same.
I'm so glad I'm just now getting into this band. A lot of you sound like over pretentious hipsters because this song doesn't fit some mold of what you think they should sound. I think this is incredible.
Great bands evolve over the years. As they travel the world they pick up new influences and experiences which shine through their music. Each Queens album sounds vastly different to the last. This is all part of their evolution. Chill out naysayers, get the album and listen to it over and over again. You'll start to discover hidden snippets of gold and each song will grow on you. Give Queens a chance, they deserve that don't you think?!
I agree, 1st listen through of the evil has landed meh, now f yeah
MsIndigo78 ... Words of wisdom and ones we should all adhere to!
People are far too quick to judge and critique! Honestly, how many songs, the more you listen to them have "grown on you"?
Listen again and I'm sure eventually, like before The Queens will become 1 with your ears!
I've had it on repeat for a few days now. Like Clockwork has already aged like a fine wine, and I say this as someone who began listening around Rated R/ Songs for the Deaf. In fact I've seen them live twice now. The first was between the 2 albums I mentioned, and the 2nd was the Like Clockwork tour. Two very different, but very good shows. I have not gone out of my way to find it, so I was not aware people are criticizing the album, but I don't understand why anyone would.
Okay but why is this the perfect song for feeling like a classy ruler
This outro is like OMG
this song is the definition of cool
5:11 always my favourite bit, it sounds so good
since I don't see many positive comments, I'll leave one...
This song is fucking awesome.
love the intro of this paired with the outro....they should have Ted on stage to solo the last part out sometime. ua-cam.com/video/_onagRhKN5E/v-deo.html
Once again, I wonder where all you expert level QOTSA fans crawled out of regarding this album's style and production. Josh has ALWAYS praised and used super dry drum production (major influences being early ZZ top albums) and the way the drums are produced on Villains is a very natural and logical evolution of that ideal. It fits PERFECTLY with the music, and sounds very much like "real drums" no matter how hard you might personally be struggling to hear nuances or cymbals within the mix. Not the band's fault, not my fault, get better at listening.
Why does everything have to better or worse than something else to everyone? Just enjoy everything for what it is. The record is definitely a grower and not a shower but it doesn't need to be compared. Queens aren't the same band physically or mentally as the were in 2002. Aren't even the same as 2013...all that means is we'll continue to get fresh music. I'm personally thrilled its nothing like any of the previous records. Anything else would just be stale.
It’s not that much of a departure, it reminded me of era vulgaris but it brought in some new stuff too, awesome record
This song fuckin goes places, man
Sounds like a Them Crooked Vultures song
hmm depends on what kind of music you were expecting from this album... but then again, expecting a specific sound on a new QOTSA album is flawed thinking as they change their sound so much album to album. I honestly would have preferred more haunting stoner rock but definitely still looking forward to the rest of this album!
tomdesavoix except for the final part...which sounds like Eagles Of Death Metal 😂
So much guitar and they all blend so well and the drummer is just doing his thing makes it such a good song
I really dont know whats so wrong about this and why people seem to hate it so much in the comments. For me every album has some sort of theme to it. Like clockwork was so dark and depressing it felt pretty heavy and maybe Josh Homme wanted to try something new. something to lighten up a little. They always experienced a little and they always changed things a little and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. creative people need to try out new things they cant just stay in one mold, its against their nature.
Just enjoy the damn music and dance
Like Clockwork helped me through a really hard time in my life but this cheers me up y'know? .. It's great that he's an artist that doesn't stick to the same old, same old but I've loved his stuff since his Kyuss days.
In my own opinion they don't have a bad album, like you said it's called experimentation and like clockwork was depressing because Josh Homme wrote the album after pretty much dying on the operation table. Who cares they still make amazing music I think.
this is literally the greatest masterpiece I've ever heard.

It's ALMOST as if people have different tastes
@@incandescentadolescents1889 What "Sheep" by Pink Floyd , its a brilliant song, What an Album ANIMALS is a true Masterpiece. Lullabies to Paralyse , QOSA another masterpiece, along with most of their albums too.
Anyone else just totally LOVING this album? The music gods have surely heard our prayers..
I think people is hating the "production" on this album just because they heard it's by mark ronson, chill out, the songs are good, QOTSA are making great music
Or maybe I just find it bland and boring? I like QOTSA but that doesn't mean I have to like everything they make.
I don't like the production because it sounds like Queens have been restrained when they should be flying
I don't care what anyone says, this album is awesome so far! Can't wait to hear the rest of it!
Im with you! It drops on my birthday and I'm purposely waiting for it as a gift from the gods. Screw all these people downloading the leaked copy!
Like Clockwork is still my favorite album, but this is a VERY close second. QOTSA is like a fine wine, only getting better with age
I really love that bass line!
>THIS ISN'T QUEENS! WTF HAPPENED?! WE WANT THE SAME ALBUM OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
This entire album is 10/10. Some of the best work they've ever written, and probably the most fun I've had listening to a Rock album in years. Stop hating, or stop listening.
Seriously this is arguably the best album they've put out. Most bands this late in their career put out serviceable songs but there are at least 3 or 4 on this album that rival stuff on their earlier material.
Justin Widle I agree and I have heard neither of their albums. Just because of this song.
Thier last album took a few listens and then a few more closer listens to realize I was falling for it... And now some of the songs I paid the least attention to are my very favorites. This band is notorious for getting better with each listen, a sure sign of a truly talented group.....
And as far as influences on this track, makes the think budgie meets zeppelin meets qotsa .... Some of the best
5:10 and on.....when that part hits pure awesomeness. I gotta buy this album.
I will never forget the day I saw QOTSA - No one knows, they have changed my musical life. Now I can't imagine my playlist without a single qotsa song there. This album is definitely must have for me. Thank you Qotsa for new inspiration. _\m/
I hope you guys are comin to Hungary too. 25 y my top 5 of bands. And yes genius
There are only 9 songs on the album I didn't think they would release anymore singles early and I honestly didn't want them to
to be fair the songs are pretty long. this album is probably over the 45 minute mark that most normal albums reach (which for me is about 12-15 songs)
I think this was the fastest I've clicked on a notification in a long time.
Here. We. Come.
That bass line adds some incredible depth here.
All I gotta say is THIS ALBUM FINALLY CLICKED! I kept listening over and over, wondering if it was always going feel underwhelmind and disjointed. Then all of a sudden BHAM. FUCK YES! AND I DON'T GIVE A SHIT... "TURNING ON THE SCREW" FROM "ERA VULGARIS"KICKS ASS. WHOEVER DOESN'T LIKE THAT ALBUM. ITS THEIR LOSS! BAMMMMM!
Same here. First listen planted curiosity, by the fifth listen I was singing right along and losing my shit loving it so much. And I NEVER understood why somebody wouldn't like Era Vulgaris.
5:30 is so fundamentally QOTSA. I love hearing the change very time I listen to this song
Once again QOTSA have done did it again. Done made something that I can just listen to over and over again and at a particularly trying time in my life. Thank You.
This album seems to have a perfectly awesome aesthetic of chaotic badassery
This bass is so delightful...
“It ain’t half empty or full
You can break a glass, or drink it all”
favorite line
I never realized that so many of the songs I liked but couldn’t find were all made by this group.
The drums on this kill
its always the same with QOTSA ....you need to listent the music 10 -15 times and than you will understand and like/love ....since over 20 years im a QOTSA fan...the first and the second album i love it at the beginning. since songs for the deaf, i hate every album at the beginning.....but if i listing more and more to the albums, i love them more and more.....QOTSA ,you crazy little pigs...you will be my favorite band, all the time ;) see us in munich :) hey play for me an old song : everybody knows that youre insane ..because i know you are! hehehehe ;)
I still come back after 7 years. 2017 was the best year of my life. I remember buying this on launch. i graduated highschool with honors, had a job, a car, was going to college for HVAC, got a girl. Then it went to shit in 2018. Now I'm homeless. 2024. Everything will be alright just gotta keep going. I will be back except the girl. I'm focused on myself now.
It does grow on you. When you've been around since the 90s, u have to evolve! I am a fan that returned to Queens..doesn't make me any less.. I "can't quit them baby.."
QUEENS!!!
I first heard this on the forza horizons 4 xs radio and this song is so good
One of the few remaining bands in the eyes of mainstream that rock hard and keep that sexy spirit alive...
People who are hating the production are always hating something everywhere. This sounds fresh as fuck.
