I just started carnivore about 3 weeks ago. Already lost over 10 pounds and have a whole lot more energy. I've done keto in the past and found it hard to stick to, but find with this diet it's much easier. I think not allowing any carbohydrates is the key. Thank you for sharing your story. The main person who used to talk smack about me doing keto, then carnivore (and for using 1 T of heavy whipping cream daily 🤣), was my ex's mother. She was the most toxic, unhealthiest person alive, (survived a brain aneurysm, 2 heart attacks, a stroke which she had to stay at a rehab facility for awhile to learn to walk and talk again, surgeries to remove blood clots, overweight, uses a walker and cane, ect). No lie, right when she wakes up, first thing she does is light up a cigarette and drink a pop, but somehow, someway, it's ME who's unhealthy and sick from eating the way I do, and I'M the one who's going to die. 🤣🤣

There are many benefits and most people do lose weight. I have not lost any weight on Carnivore myself and that has been sad for me as I have tried so very hard for nearly five years now. I still keep going though. Today I had a cup of black coffee in the morning and later about 12 ounces of steak . That maintains my weight but doesn't result in any weight loss. I have lost 8lbs but my non-scale victories are: gums not bleeding, sleeping almost through the night (up only once), dreaming again, fungus on toes drying up, heartburn 98% better, flashes in my eyes are gone, obsessive food thoughts are gone and brain fog is gone. I'm sticking to this way of eating. I have lost some inches but I'm trusting the process and know that when my insulin resistance goes down my body will release the weight. Never going back!!!!

Yup. 75 here. I cut carbs after being diagnosed with fatty liver disease with NASH and fibrosis in 2019. I backed into keto by just constantly identifying sources of carbs in my diet and eliminating them. About a year and a half ago I transitioned to carnivore. Today I am 60 pounds lighter and normal weight. My liver is now normal with no disease. I do 35+ pushups per set and 25+ inverted rows per set. I take no prescription meds. I am stronger and healthier than I have been in decades. Every day is good.

In 1987, when I was in my 20's, I was having problems and I went to the endo. He ran tests and said that I was hypoglycemic and prediabetic. I was not overweight, but he said, "No more carbs for you". I went home and cried to give up carbs, but I was afraid of diabetes, so I did it. In one week, all my problems went away. I was so ecstatic that I told all my friends. They were horrified. They said I was going to get fat and die young from a heart attack or stroke. I felt so good, that I didn't care. I had stuck with it all these years because when I cheat, then in 2 hours, all my old problems (from the insulin dump) come right back. Now I am in my 60's. I am still slender, energetic and healthy. My friends who told me this was dangerous: they are overweight, diabetic, autoimmune diseases, and some have died of stroke and heart attacks. I also lift weights now. I am not a bodybuilder, but I am strong and flexible, just like when I was young. I remember how I cried when the doctor said, "No more carbs for you". Now I could kiss his feet for giving me the Fountain of Youth.

First low carb, then Keto, then mostly red meat Keto. That has been the last 14 years. But I noticed at almost 60, my hair and nails were thinning and my skin was starting to wrinkle. Our species typically hunted every day. And when we got an animal, what were the prized cuts? Throughout history and across cultures, the heart and liver were considered sacred foods. They went to the hunter, the chief, pregnant women, etc. I thought, what if I ate like I was the most successful hunter ever? I started eating ground heart meat and liver, both from beef cattle, every day. The changes have been amazing. Particularly the liver. I started with a small piece a day and noticed my skin, nails and hair improving. So I increased the amount and the improvements increased too. I am up to a pound of liver a week and 3 lbs of ground heart meat. The improvements are amazing. I routinely get mistaken for someone in their 30's. But its not just the appearance, my sleep, mental concentration and energy levels feel like my 30's too. I don't know what to call my diet- maybe carnivore warrior 🙂? But adding large amounts of beef heart and liver has taken me to the next level.

It's so SO SO important to watch at least 1 CARNIVORE Video a day to stay on track and KEEP a person (ME)... mentally focused. Love your video's..... keep em coming. Love your style. ///. Yeah.. I needed to hear THAT: "Don't Cheat! It's Not Worth It. It could take DAYS to get BACK into Ketosis.". /// WHOA... I didn't know that. 15 Pounds lost in about 1 month on a transition from Gluten Free,.. to No Veggies and Limited Carbs..... to Pure Carnivore....and LION for the past week. BUT THEN LAST NIGHT... I had a solid sweet tooth,...THEN just before bed...I started playing the vision mind games and poor logic games of ... "Welll just a raisin. Just ONE raisin. ... .which turned into a monster bowl of gluten free KETO Granola with a 1/2 cup of RAISINS... with Whole Milk. Talk about jumping off a cliff! Ha. But I feel great this morning and I'm back on LION / CARNIVORE. I miss my Egg Yolks. I believe in YOLKS for massive brain health. /// Okay... sorry for the diary entry. Have a blessed day. /// Love your channel!

I'm 63 with full blown emphysema, mild arthritis and lifelong depression which until recently I was able to manage naturally, no meds, Don't drink alcohol or smoke anything. Bi-weekly acupuncture, keto diet and vitamin supplements, keto since 2010 and maintained a 50 lb weight loss(went from 162 lbs to 112, Im 5 foot 2). But it was always a battle with the Food Monster, and recently, anxiety. Started doing OMAD (one meal a day) 2 years ago with the occasional 1 or 2 day fast. But it wasn't enough. The emphysema was getting worse, and despite no meds and biweekly acupuncture, the violent coughing fits got worse and worse. Saw Dr. Berry, your channel, and Carnvorous Me and decided to give it a go. A month ago, did keto carnivore. Then on July 17th, started strict carnivore, NO veggies. Then on July 25th, I cut out coffee, heavy cream, and stevia. I take Keto Chow and some vitamin supplements. Eventually I will do lion diet. But for now, I have NO ARTHRITIC PAIN in my ankles, hands, or back. And I still cough, but NO VIOLENT COUGHING FITS for the first time in YEARS! And I've won The Battle of the FOOD Monster, NO CRAVINGS! And no bloody gums!! Thank you for all you do, looking forward to better health, and being able to travel from New Mexico to Maine to visit my kids, which I haven't been able to do for the last 2 years due to shortness of breath and tachycardia. Much love to you and your family, Kerry from New Mexico USA thanks for this awesome interview!

@@ladeene06 Sugar and carb (wheat) addicts are just that - addicts. Both of them hit the brain in the exact same way that cocaine does. When I tried going keto (but lower fat, basically a Dukan diet), I panicked thinking of what I couldn't have and there was a lot of backtracking. Now I've learned from various YT videos how to make anything that I might crave, but ketofied. Chocolate, waffles, muffins, bread, cookies - everything has a keto or high protein, low fat, very low carb equivalent. Once I could default to my new recipes, I calmed down about what I might be missing. It doesn't seem that important anymore, or I've finally kicked the addiction. Living on ketones is very Zen-cheerful and I like the feeling compared to the energy crashes I used to get, as well as the constant hunger. I've often wondered why no one opens up a 'Boot Camp' on an isolated island for sugar/wheat addicts to go to, to get off of the stuff. The only way for some people to wake up is to not have a 7-11 or grocery store anywhere available to them. Isolation plus 'here's your food for the day, no sugar or wheat for you' plus seeing how they feel after a few days.

She spent her whole life battling being overweight, due to the SAD diet and died before her time because doctors refused to consider her diet, prescribed by them, was killing her. Doctors don't learn nutrition in med school, so they know very little about it. Doctors were fooled by the SAD, just like the rest of us. I have lost several relatives for no good reason because the American diet is such a sacred cow no one has questioned it. I am angry, so angry, at their needless suffering.I also believe the food industry and the pharmaceutical industry are fine with slaughtering us, as long as they are banking big bucks. SO INSPIRING!! LOVE THIS! As a 55 yr old fatty, I'm super excited by all this information. I've been doing Keto/Carnivore since late Aug 2022, it's early June 2023. I'm down close to 50 pounds!! Literally like 1-5 pounds away and my weight is funny, I get to that 50 pound mark and then gain a few then lose and gain more then lose more. hahaha it's a rollercoaster.
BUT I weight myself everyday and I'm 100% not even worried about this. I'm simply in a short plateau, which happens. My body is doing whatever it needs to be healthy and this has happened often in these 9 months and the weight loss picks up again when my body is ready. I was literally stuck at 300+ pounds for like a month. It was so frustrating because weeks before I was losing weight effortlessly. Thankfully Dr. Ken Berry and others encouraged me NOT to worry, NOT to get hung up, TO trust my body and keep doing what I've been doing. That was almost 20+ pounds ago and so many months ago I can't hardly even remember.
THE BEST FEELING is to hear guys like Ron talk about doing this at his age and feeling AMAZING! When you've lived to your 50s and had nothing but the slowly creeping waist, the ever increasing weight, the decreasing mobility, YOU will realize that 70s do NOT look good AT ALL. BUt now I'm excited for the future. I've recently rediscovered the wonderous flavors and fun of grilling out. I haven't done that in DECADES, literally. I'm also so grateful for this way of eating and all the people who talk about it on UA-cam and share their experiences.
LIFE is now full of possibilities and I'm not even close to my goal weight of 185! But it's only a matter of time before I get there. Thanks again for sharing this vid.

I eat mostly ground beef with some eggs on some days.

I hope your situation improves. I've been carnivore for close to three years and have experienced all of the great benefits. Mostly eat fatty cuts of beef that I buy on sale. Untrimmed tri-tip is my all time favorite. I don't shy away from butter either! Sometimes I'll eat sardines or chicken. Especially like chicken thighs heavily salted and grilled till the skin is crispy. I'm sure by now you've tried adding more salt or an electrolyte mix or more fat, but if not, give it a go.

Make sure you are not dehydrated (alone with some of the other advice here). Caffeine (if you drink enough of it) can be dehydrating. I saw a reply to another video on this subject - the guy replying said he was a chiropractor and that he recommended giving up coffee in situations like yours, specifically back pain.Or you could just cut back on the caffeine. See your doctor about the low energy issue. Much of that can be checked with blood tests for thyroid and other problems.

GREAT interview! :) By the way, I'm just NOW finding out about the "transition" period but we're all set to start this Friday! Since we're mentally prepared, we're going for it on Friday! :) We've got our electrolytes and we're starting with 30 days on the BBBE! Wish us luck, and that we'll completely avoid the "carnivore flu"! :) By the way-- why is it called a "flu"? Should we expect fevers?! :) P.S. I'm personally hoping for MORE sleep! :)

We MIGHT (water) fast on Friday and start Saturday, because all we have now is the meat, butter, bacon and eggs in the fridge. :) At least now we know to look out for this "flu'. One of the downsides of losing weight, is losing strength (or capability). I remember working in Yellowknife and tying down Hercules skids, I didn't have enough weight to push down the binder handle, without a long pipe. I ended up setting all the chains and binders and my partner who was 380 snapped them down with ease. That is why Brian Shaw is so strong, big factor is weight. You said you workout now, if you did when you had weight, you'd see the difference now. I exercise every day, example putting free weights over my head was easy when I was 200, completely different now at 175, I am not as stable in my stance. Love what you are doing, very interesting to follow your journey. Cheers.

I am new to low carb/carnivore and keep falling off the wagon while pushing my shopping cart down the dreaded "Cookie" aisle at my supermarket. I got myself off the chips and nacho chips, etc., thank goodness, especially because excess salt has an adverse effect on bone density (I think Dr. Berry said that??) -----So-----Maybe I should shop at: 1. Butcher shop. 2. Fresh vegetable/fruit stand for green stuff and berries. My Publix is like a fairy wonderland of carboholic delight. My sugar habit was well started in childhood.
