Not to nitpick (absolutely to nitpick) but there are medical Mr. Handys (called Mister Orderlies) in new vegas! I know for sure of the ones in the old world blues DLC, but there might be some in the base game I'm forgetting. I'm fairly sure they grant more XP per kill, too, while still being on a compatible XP scale to fallout 3, although the wiki doesn't have their XP drop listed.
4:59 I think we can safely say she has Speech, Guns, and Repair as Tagged skills, with good base values in Melee and Unarmed, and a bit in Science. Tracks with her high Perception.
I would consider Lucy convincing the organ harvesters to free the ghouls a successful persuasion check. Probably not a lot of XP, but a nice change from the enemy/main quest/location formula.
Dear god, if you even dare cover any of the pokemon in the pokemon movies and anime. The only one I think even remotely possible would be detective Pikachu
Another factor you may or may not have accounted for when looking at the differences between Fallout 3 and 4's levelling systems is that the XP requirement to level up progresses differently in each one. The XP requirement to level up in Fallout 3 increases by 150 each level (requiring 200 XP to get from level 1 to level 2, then 350 XP to go from 2 to 3, then 500 XP to go from 3 to 4, etc.), while Fallout 4's is half that, with it going up by only 75 each level (requiring 200 XP to get from 1 to 2, then 275 XP to get from 2 to 3, then 350 XP to get from 3 to 4, etc.). Combined with the increased XP for kills and discoveries, Fallout 4's system might actually be faster and easier to level in the early-to-mid-game. It's only in the late game at higher levels that Fallout 4's lackluster quest XP progression starts to really slow things down.
Great video, but you missed 2 things. Arguably the encounter after her wedding, would have given an xp boost for "lovers embrace" which is given even in non-romantic encounters in some of the games. And the vault quest probably would have been boosted with a well rested boost as well. I'm not sure how much that really would have changed things, maybe a few hundred more xp. But still interesting to throw in there. Great video!
I know raider xp rewards scale with the players level, because their level increases too as you level up, but It's still often sort of random. sometimes you'll get 8, 10, 20, 25, 30, etc, and when you're higher level you're more likely to both encounter tougher raiders and get a raider or two who give the higher numbers in an encounter.
This is exactly the type of content I love; and will definitely be returning to Level with You. Hopefully with Maximus next. Seems like the easiest to judge out of the remaining two, since the Ghoul has been leveling for 200 years.
This video was great. I appreciate that you address the things like perks and bonuses that you couldnt accurately calculate, even though they would definitely effect her xp gain. I also think using F3 & NV was a good move. Film Theory used F4 in their video they posted today and got a similar outcome, but it didnt seem to match with the specific encounters from the show.
@@kittenarcader Yup, to add to this, my parents who mostly watch shows instead of play video games loved it. I did as well as a long time fan :) It finally got my mom to try Fallout, too.

Fun fact they just started production on season two filming starts in around two months. Hoping for the end of July for filming to start. Got to say its amazing how fast people can build a set like NV set are badass cant wait to show people
I have to say that your video is better than Film Theory because you go level by level in chronological order and included karma. But it is interesting FT buffs her XP with "survival model" considering she is the protagonist and is not likely to die.
Very similar calculation that the Film Theory channel had, although they used slightly differently leveling criteria. Wonder what perks Lucy would have? I'm always down for Whacky Wasteland!!
For some reason, VATS does not actually require a Pip-Boy. In Fallout 4, while escaping the Vault, the Sole Survivor can use VATS to kill any Radroach, despite not getting a Pip-Boy until they open the Vault door to Escape. It's entirely possible the Ghoul is using VATS because he is one of the show's three "Playable Characters."
Seeing as both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas use the experience system, and with the tease of the Lucky 38 and the rest of New Vegas at the other end of the Long 15, I would say that using the New Vegas experience system could work. And since we haven't seen any strange things occurring on her travels, Lucy would not be using the Wild Wasteland perk. We can also assume she's picked up the Travel Light perk towards the midpoint of her journey, seeing as she's moving a little faster wearing the armored Vault-Tec jumpsuit. Her Speech skill is lower than average, but she's doing her best. She might have picked up the Gunslinger and Commando perks at the start, seeing how proficient she is with one- and two-handed firearms.
I'm so deeply obsessed with this idea!!!! I haven't seen the Fallout show, but I love the idea of giving stats to characters who don't come with stats in the media they're from!! I am definitely seated :)
No &*$% way The Ghoul only has INT and LCK of 4 each. He's a crit machine with the Chemist perk. And 200 years of XP, even if we're using the FO3/NV system, he's definitely hit a high enough level to start dumping perk points into Intense Training, so while I get that they had to make him a balanced character for FOS, in the show he's definitely a level 99 OP god-king.
I really enjoyed the show, and while I’ve liked to watch YT videos on the game lore for years I’ve never actually played the games myself so I don’t really understand how they work despite understanding the universe. Seeing the game mechanics and levelling applied to the show here has been really cool!
Lucy and Maximus level up *fast* for thr numbee of encounters they win or don't, so I think you also have to either decrease the XP to level or grant xp to a greater number of events as well.

You gave her "Location Found" points for barely glancing in the general direction of the Hollywood Sign from a far distance, but didn't give her anything for actually being in the location of the Radio Tower? That makes no sense, especially considering that she should just about be touching the actual letters of the Hollywood Sign for it to count, and even then it's very debalable that it would or should even count as an actual location, whereas a working, in-use Radio Tower is most DEFINITELY a certified location. Also, she should probably get more "Location Found" points when she came across the Train Station where Maximus was abandoned by Thaddeus, seeing as I can't recall any in-game Train/Metro stations that DON'T give you XP for finding them. (I'm NOT saying that there are absokutely, 100% guaranteed, no Train Stations that don't award XP, I'm just saying I can't remember running across any myself, in Fallout 3, 4, or New Vegas.)
Depends on the specific leveling mechanics that differ from game to game. Lvl10 in Fallout, lvl10 in Fallout 2 and Lvl10 in FNV are not the same, to put it mildly. Assuming Lucy has four tagged skills she might be lvl 12 (how she gained all the exp required is another question). Not to mention that her equipment varies from basic to none (at lvl 12 the PC in Fallout would have his/her own suit of T51b and a plasma rifle)
Wait wait wait! We need to know how she raises her stats, and what perks she chooses! Given her performance, I think she has raised her endurance, her agility and perception at least one each with "intense training". That takes care of perks (she gets 3). She also raises her stats, but we dont know how much. But she clearly ignore speech (since she allways fails), and she dont improve in combat, so I think she focuses on medicine (raising her medicine skills improves her use of drugs in the syringer)- but where goes the rest of her points? I think she is trying to maximize either lockpicking for some future hard locked vault door, or going for a laser using combat build, but havent found a laser rifle yet..? And maybe just maybe she tries to do a "no kill run".. Robots, creatures and ferals doesnt count.. Unless its a Fallout 4 build! Then she has 7 picks, which must be 1 point in agility, endurance and perception, and "black widow", "attack dog" and "action girl"! But the last one.."gun nut" maybe?
I prefer to look at Lucy as an enemy encounter. She has an unmodifed 10mm pistol and 2 pieces of basic armor. A similarly equipped raider would be level 5 to 10. BTW, she fails a lot of speech checks. I would downgrade her Cha.
So, what’d you think? Accurate? Debatable? What do you want to see next? Let me know down below!

I refuse to believe Maximus has more intelligence than the ghoul. That man is sub brick intelligence
Let them eat cake lol
I prefer to look at Lucy as an enemy encounter. She has an unmodifed 10mm pistol and 2 pieces of basic armor. A similarly equipped raider would be level 5 to 10. BTW, she fails a lot of speech checks. I would downgrade her Cha.
