The fact that jack manages to plunder over half a million in value of things, and yet technically made a profit of -3 shillings, is possibly the most on brand thing ever
Wealth in these terms isn't about turning a profit; it's about being able to maintain the lifestyle for as long as you want to without starving or losing your ship. 😂
I know these non-saw episodes don't get as much love from the algorithm, but I came for your personality and I love when you branch out to other properties like this! This channel has grown so much since when I saw your first video. Even though you barely had 1/10th of the subs, I knew you were going to do well. Much love!
If you’re this talented of an accountant, and you manage to edit these videos with such sultry voice over, UA-cam has truly gained another star. In a year or two you’ll be Cinemawins level. Can’t wait to watch the growth!
Foot The Bill has quickly become my favourite series on youtube. I'm a big fan of doing way too in depth calculations for things that, in the grand scheme, do not really matter, so breaking down the costs of heists, slashers, death traps, and pirate hauls is just the fix to scratch that itch (bars) keep up the amazing work, this channel is going places!
Honestly, I’m just impressed you can keep the pounds, shillings and pence straight, not that it’s the more crazy part of accounting in this but the conversions and slang between them always seemed wildly convoluted to me😂😂
I love these types of April’s fools videos. Next year you should do the Lego movie -I’d be happy to help with research as an excuse to go through old Lego catalogues!
1:08 TO BE CLEAR; that is pre-decimalised GBP. now a GBP(£) equals 100 GBp(Pennies) just like Euros and dollars. I know Kitten Arcader understands, I just don’t want the rest of the word thinking we still use fantasy coins.
Absolutely love this approach to the formula you've been using. I could see it working well for heist movies as well to see the profit/loss by the end. But for now, I'm def getting hype for that Scream episode
Genuinely one of the most interesting videos I have seen from you. Really impressed on how thorough your research is. Don't let yourself get lazy, your work speaks for itself. Keep it up!
This video is amazing, I love Foot the Bill, and want to see spins on it. Your in depth research is always incredible and very entertaining to watch you break down. Joined.
Kinda crazy how that entire chest of Aztec Gold that caused this entire curse and all the troubles for the pirates, couldn't even pay for a third of an unladen swallow, uh, I mean ship like the Interceptor.
I was laughing so hard the second he said we'd be calculating how much of a profit Jack makes because of how often he immediately has to give everything back. Great April Fool's video! It delivered genuinely good content while also being goofy enough that it works as a prank, just smart stuff all around.
I've been watching foot the bill from the start. Outside of Saw (and home alone which is basically Saw) this is by far my favorite video. The costs and spectacle of Now You See Me and Five Nights at Freddy's were a bit too abstract for the humor and style to land the same way for me, but this one worked really really well. I'm excited to see how you continue to develop the series!
One could argue that the rum Jack drank on the deserted island was stolen by him and not confiscated or blown up, so he might have walked away with a net gain.
Absolutely love the video, reminded me of times when I was younger and watching the trilogy for the first time, also humor that hits right on the mark as always
Btw, some ships were built by the Dutch with payment being "Guilders" . 1 Guilder is roughly translated to the buying power of about $30,000 The largest ship ever built was "The Gouden Leeuw" and the cost was a crisp 100,000 guilders . Wait a minute... Elizabeth had one of the coins for what? Half her life? And she wasn't cursed? But then Jack picks one up and is instantly cursed? What the plot? (Also just realized this after forever)

absolute insane. when you brought out historical ship pricing had me in stitches.
The (rightful) implication that all property is forfeited on imprisonment, regardless of proof of ownership is honestly hilarious.
This is an incredible amount of work for an April fools video
I know this was a joke but can you do the rest of the Pirates series? This was amazing!!

What about the costs to have Michael Bolton sing a tribute song to Jack Sparrow? Surely that falls within the bounds of the show.
