I saw this live and this video doesn't do her singing nearly enough justice. She literally blew everyone off the stage that day. I was shocked. I had never heard her live before but she is the real deal. Amazing technique, consistent voice top to bottom, and excellent command of her instrument.
I would rather say at this stage, she is a "lirico-sfogato" or a good "lirico-coloratura". To be come a real "drammatico", she will need a few years ...
operabilia This voice is too weighty to be a lyric coloratura; but I do agree that she's not quite a dramatic soprano either. I'd call her a lirico spinto.
Whatever fach one deems appropriate, Ms. Wilson has a technical facility that surpasses nearly anyone singing this repertoire today, giving her the freedom to do what she wishes with text, phrasing, style, drama. Aspiring singers should watch and learn! Thrilling!
Love the singing and expression!! Killer high notes! Where's the first part of this aria??? Suited her FAR FAR better than Dich Teure Halle. The dress is however, very unflattering.
Terrific young artist singing brilliantly: How wonderful...but please, get a stylist that is the most distracting, disturbing, pink wrinkled dress...she deserves better...and keep on singing like this!

@@cliffgaither "gotta say something"...Nope. I guess none of you were ever taught the old adage, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." No one HAS to say anything negative about another person's appearance. It's rude and childish. Maybe she likes the dress. Maybe she likes how she looks and feels fabulous in it. @@LibbySingsMezzo ■😁 We should listen to her sing & not look at the dress ... ? but ... if people "eat" with their eyes, first ... surely, people "hear" with their eyes, first. I try to never judge a voice unless I am hearing it live in a decent hall, but but what I have heard in the clip and a Trovatore selection also on YT did not impress me simply because the basic instrument has no inner core. Listen to Ponselle, to hear the difference. She is lacking an essential purity of line and even just as essential I don't find the voice an attractive one--of course that is a personal feeling.
She needs to work on her coloratura. It can be sloppy indeed. She is doing I Lombardi soon... It's going to be a disaster. She should stick to *later* Verdi. Her unique big and bright timbre, her impressive breath span and her magnificent pianissimi make her ideal for post-Luisa Miller Verdi operas. I've seen her twice in the Verdi requiem, once in Ernani and once in Un Ballo in Maschera... Elvira was her weakest role precisely because of the coloratura wasn't ideal. In the other roles she was absolutely mesmerising.

I look forward to seeing her shortly in Albuquerque. I can only imagine what you are describing at this point. She sounds amazing!
@@robbijennings7016 was it good
She "LITERALLY" blew them off the stage? That sounds like a lawsuit just waiting to happen for personal injury...
Wow. Pianissimo and Fortes. Agility and all. Wonderful.
Close your eyes and listen!

Finally...a real dramatic soprano. Unlike others who are attempting at this rep.

Thaddeaus Foster lirico sprinto with coloratura.

Yeah, she's not a dramatic. I heard her in Trovatore in Chicago. She was really great!!!! Not a dramatic, though. A nice big juicy lyric.
Brava 👏🏿
Great singing!

sing norma please
Jerry Arispi She will...
She could've went higher for a better climax at the ending
Gutsy performance - Brava! But as others have said - OMG that dress! Color is good for her, but she really needs a stylist.
MISS PITCH AT LEAST YOU SHOW YOU UNDERSTAND THE PIECE.

Wrinkled? It's a gathered silk dress; that's the style. Pretty sure she's so amazing she doesn't need your approval.

Some sloppy coloratura here but an impressive performer nonetheless.
