- When she first meets Attila, Odabella shocks him by standing defiant and boasting of the strength of Italian women. In this excerpt from “ATTILA Highlights in Concert,” soprano Tamara Wilson sings the two halves of Odabella’s thrilling first scene: the cavatina “Allor che I forti corrono” and cabaletta “Da te questo or m’è concesso.”

Great job really, singing & accompaniement-wise. Portraying Verdi's genius & power like one can't "get rid of" the melodies once finished (if we like Verdi + have beautiful remembrances of this aria like me). Beautiful powerful voice + singing technique (I bet), Tamara Wilson's.
Eh… no.
'Bel canto on steroids'.
Well that's really, really bad.
Physically she looks like dramatic soprano which is deceiving. BUT those cords are lyric soprano to the core. She has a similar vocal weight as Saioa Hernández vocally who is also a lyric but Saioa has more voice and technique than this lady.
Oh shut up, no one cares about your amateur desktop assessment, hear her in person, then perhaps we can begin to assess your baseless accusations.
@@jmahlon Mmm hmmm OK. Baseless? She is a lyric soprano, period.
@@jmahlon , I don't quite agree with the tone you used, but you are 100% right. It's not enough to listen to a video and make assessment on the weight of a voice, you need to hear the singer IN PERSON. Recordings don't do justice to many big voices, at all; they can sound small. If we went by videos/recordings alone, Birgit Nilsson, Kirsten Flagstad, Deborah Voigt or even Joan Sutherland and Dolora Zajick would be "lyric" singers too LoL.
And it's best you ignore chosentenore. He's a known troll, spewing lies and hate wherever he goes. Don't give him the time of day, he's not worth it.
@@beachfanatic2010 i am so sad she's singing Wagner now and heavy Verdi.
@@dennisdeemii You should be cause she is a lyric soprano.
Her Turandot was a wobbly mess.
Here she actually is wobbling less.
Still not good. Pretty bad actually.
I bet she’d never heard a good version of this aria or maybe even never heard it before.
You get carried away with your put down. You have no idea what she might have heard.
