I'm late to the party when it comes to Halo and I've been slowly going through the series by beating one game a year. I finished ODST recently and it's funny how for me, every game has been better the last one. My ranking would be ODST>3>2>1 so far, purely in terms of single player campaign. ODST is much more down to earth and I liked it, including the more balanced difficulty and shorter missions. I already knew it had a great soundtrack, but playing it further confirmed it. Love the jazzy tones and the piano + oboe in this one.

ODST is so good, finally no longer stuck as John Halo and instead a more regular group of guys on Earth and one of them is Nathan Fillion.

Just finished replaying this game earlier this month. I've been going through the Bungie Halos for the past 6 months or so. Finished Reach last week. The soundtrack of ODST is my favorite in the Bungie series. But I do think the campaign is last for me from the 5 Bungie Halos.
I guess my order would be H3>H1>Reach>H2>ODST. Given the story timeline of the series it does bum me out that there were no elites in ODST. They are such fun enemies. So when I booted up Reach not too long after finishing ODST, I was like, "oh yeah, I really missed fighting this enemy type."
