Nah respects for giving the old timer a chance to experience it. I would of done the same he looked like a good man. If he was younger I would of said hell nah
Get you some rim tape and eliminate that tube altogether. Why more people dont do this idk but it can be done with almost all MTB and Smaller bike rims.
I'm 16. Just wondering how fast can this bike go and do I need to register it and get insurance on it and get a motorcycle license to drive it on the Highway
I disagree on some of your upgrade strategy. First off, the battery powered light. NOT. With that now you've got an extra thing to charge that'll flop around if you do any bumpy riding. Do what I did: buy a handlebar switch for $3, connectors to the Sur-Ron harness for a couple bucks, and two 15 watt, 12VDC aftermarket car spotlights for $15. They throw more light than stock & I can switch both lights on and off, or run with just one. Plus they run off the ample Sur-Ron battery, and since they bolt directly to the existing light bracket no flopping. 2nd, new pegs because your shoes bend over the "narrow" foot pegs? What do you wear when you ride, Crocs? I wear boots because I mostly do dirt riding. Proper footwear has been a mainstay of biking and motorcycling FOREVER. I suggest you visit a shoe store. The CST tires aren't great, but they aren't terrible. I upgraded to more dirt-worthy tires rather than go dual-sport like you did. The foot peg brace? Sure, you can buy one for $30. I made one for $4 out of threaded stainless steel rod and a few nuts. Skid plate? I upgraded mine, but what is everybody riding over that they scrape their skid-plate, cinder-block garden walls? If you're terrain is so severe you're scraping the plate, you're probably also going to scrape your forks, your wheels and your swingarm. Might want to pick a different line to ride next time. Also, you lost your axle cap? It's significant that you either never bolted it on, per the assembly instructions, or you managed to lose a cap that's been torqued down to 20Nm. Something you NEED on the Sur-ron that you didn't mention are bark-busters. I can't tell you how many times those things have saved my bacon. Before I got them I rode through some thick brush, the brush pulled the brake lever tight causing me to lose control suddenly. With bark-busters, no more brake pulling by the local flora, and I've ridden through pretty overgrown terrain where branches have popped up grabbing unsuccessfully at my brakes. That portable light you suggest is amateur-hour for sure.
Don't do the belt to chain upgrade that's for guys that ride in mud really. The belt is just as good in most cases and even better in some cases that's why some people change the main rear sprocket to a belt drive they are less maintenance big time and quieter the only time you really don't want a belt is when you ride in wet areas or muddy areas a lot.
They sell on off switch s for the lights that are easy peazy to install it runs in line with the stock harness and you mount the switch on your bars and the switch's light up
Hey Tyler I looked in the description, but there was no link or mention of the front mudguard. Anyway you could link me? Also, I really like the low-profile look of those smaller mudguards/fenders… How is it holding up?
That light you put on was so jumpy and you was only on grass. The original one stays on strong and won't bounce. Also original one is wider view. It would be good to a new cable that allows it to be turned off.
That old man with his hard tail living life and then got on a e dirt bike he’s for sure seeing times from his youth years how they changing I been trynna get this bike over 2 years on and off my cart 🥵 I can’t wait to buy one latter
You can always protest your inner tubes in some water once you determine there's no air bubbles coming from them install them in the tires and then once they're installed in the tires and the tires are on the rims fill them up make sure you didn't puncture the inner tubes then install them on the bike otherwise you'll have to take him back off again
@@LoneStar_yota must be alot of fun riding the surron around Texas. I'm thinking vaout ordering the surron tonight. I just hope it's all good to ride around california
I think the thru axle deal is a design flaw. Read reports of many many people losing front wheels. I had it happen last week. Mid ride noticed clunking. Saw the byways missing and the 4 clamping bolts all loose w one missing. I cranked them all tight when I got the bike and a week later my front wheels is almost fallin off

I would add that Sur Ron needs to improve the headset bearings, as they are junk and go bad very fast. the head tube should be capable of accepting a more robust bearing design, like that of a dirt bike ... and the Sur Ron needs this upgrade for sure.
Yeah idk who in their right mind would think it’s a good idea to have a light on at all times of use it’s a waste of battery that’s not needed like that plus wear on the light. It’s not making it any more safe in broad daylight.
