My dream is for a OneShot sequel, despite the ending being wholesome and seemingly final, I'd give anything for more time with Niko and the clever game mechanics that OneShot utilizes. The fan-made mods for OneShot are wonderful, like OneShot Aftermath, but they aren't very long unfortunately. Incredible Interview as well, It's very well done, and I loved hearing more about one of my favourite games!
There's another OneShot continuation mod if you're interested! It's called "OneShot: Fading Memory". It even has its own Steam page! It comes out on August 25th.
Why, why I haven't seen this, I've wanted to see an interview with Oneshot developers for so long and I missed it :0 A great job, I'm happy to finally see one, even half a year late!
So many things to say First of all your very underrated this video is great Second of all after the "whos your favourite character" no one even mentioned Alula im just depressed And third i like how people can relate to you on how hard it is to not just say "so cool/awesome/great" cuz it actually is so cool
Aw thank you!! 😄 Alula would of been my other pick after the Lamplighter and Niko 😅 All of the characters in OneShot were so likeable! It was really awesome to hear their stories on the game! I tend to say "that's so cool/awesome" a lot in my day-to-day life; and after editing the interview I was like "wow I said it like 36 times". 😂 I think it might be an anxiety thing for me, but I'll make a mental note to change up my vocabulary a bit for devs I interview in the future. All jokes aside though, I was amazed and impressed about all the work they've done for the game 😄

So, I have stopped on this channel by accident, and I just want to say that this channel in criminally underrated. I finished OneShot month ago and I really enjoyed it. This interview is also good, I literally watched everything. Good luck in your UA-cam career : ).

Just. Wow. You are definitely extremely underrated. I was just wondering the other day about these questions, and to think someone would make an interview about it and also make it THIS GOOD was something I wasn't expecting. The background footage, the drawing timelapse, the questions and the interview itself, the little icons and your avatar bobbing and reacting, it was incredible. This video will probably be burned into my memory for a long time to come. I wish you all the best in the future with your channel, this is definitely quality we see so rarely on UA-cam :)
God i hope your channel blows up one day… its so cute and i love it. Your underrated, Oneshots underrated, and i hope you both get superbpopular someday! The youtube recommendations blessed me with you and oneshot years back!

I'd probably regret not subscribing to leave at least one form of appreciation to your skill and the point that you went out of your way to get the devs into an interview. Thank you.
One of my favorite unused soundtracks has to be. Just watched a 1 and a half hour of someone telling the story of Oneshot, I was like mind blown and I want this uh memory t be in my head forever and I, plus the good ending when NIKO and the player said goodbye to each other, thats when I discover your channel cuz I just still cant move on. Pretty surprised for someone who is, uhh not to sound mean cuz this is my first time saying this word in a sentence, underrated to interview Oneshot dev's, not saying that only big youtubers can. But anyways, I hope you get like 1k subs in the end of the year. :):):):):) Edit: I moved on with the shitpost's lol
Went ahead and linked this in the official Oneshot Discord. I'm very surprised that this doesn't have more views, and that your sub count isn't higher, especially considering the quality of the videos.
This video just popped up in my recommendations (probably 'cause I've been seeing a lot of OneShot content recently) and I just want to say this video is reeeeally good, I couldn't stop looking at the screen 'cause I didn't have Aknowledgment of a lot of things the devs talked about and it was just really cool to watch and learn. One of my favorites curiosities is the Journey Inspiration for the cemetery, since Journey is also one of my favorites games ever so it was pretty cool to know that two of the bests games for me are connected even just that little!
I just want to mention that heck this video is so well made, not only the animations are great and the editing is amazing always showing the person who is talking and gameplay footage of every game, and if that wasn't enough there are timestamps of everything and small indications of which song is playing in the background, the effort put into this is incredible and it definitely deserves so many more views than the amount it has, so many details that just make this video perfect.
Well when i first saw this interview, I thought I won’t watch the whole video cus it’s literally about 2 hours long . Though i was really attracted cus this interview includes nearly everything a guy who has just finished the solstice ending wants to know. The whole 2 hours then passed like minutes. I remember when i attended anime expo and the publisher i think had a booth up handing out merch for oneshot and gamecodes, i immediately fell in love with the characters and story and don’t regret every playthrough ive had with the game. By far one of my favorite rpgs :)
This interview was so cool! (Pour one more🍻) Jokes aside this was really good, I didn't realize the role Izzy had, and it's nice to know more about this team given th recent news :D Only thing is that I wish you had talked about the little prince more, since that would have melted my heart probably 😅 and also put "the simulation" as a background, which was actually the song that made me discover this game. Thank you! In retrospect I wish I had read The Little Prince prior to this interview. I didn't actually read it till I was mostly finished editing this interview and my OneShot review. But I saw a handful of parallels to it and OneShot. Also love in The World Machine Edition there's a desktop option in the style of the Little Prince cover
Thanks for this interview, this was lovely to hear, so many cool details! I definitely look forward to hearing you cover Outer Wilds and its DLC someday :)

Hi! Thank you for this video. I'm currently self-studying game developing and I needed some inspiration and tips cuz I'm planning to make a game on my own. Oneshot is probably the best game I've ever seen in my life. The story, the characters, the music, and the experience were just so perfect. And it would be my dream to make such an amazing game like Oneshot, so I decided this year to try and achieve that dream. It's definitely gonna be tough but with enough hard work I can do it. (Or maybe I'm too ambitious and I'll probably give up at the end but who knows, wish me luck i guess lol)
1:31:58 I think I know what they meant that they can't talk about something considering new announcement Yesterday (on OneShot steam release 5th anniversary) on Night twitter trailer was published that OneShot will be releasing on consoles!
I remember Night and GIR tweeted that something was coming last week but I'm just now finding out that it's coming to consoles!!! I'm excited!!! I might not be able to relive the initial OneShot experience, but I do plan to pick up the Switch port so I can have emotional turmoil on the go!
OneShot is one of those games you never forget. The characters, the story, the interesting puzzles you have to solve outside of the game window, everything just works together really well. The fact that this game was made in a month simply amazes me. Also, the content you make is really good. I hope your channel will grow really well.
Oh man, I came to your channel by curiosity honestly. I watched some of the old videos and finally reached to this one. Honestly, I expected this channel to be over 1-2k subs minimum and when I saw only 299, I was shocked honestly, this channel deserves way better honestly. Yeah, I'm sub #300, yay! Finally, this interview is one of the best with wholesome, entertaining and with its funny moments that I had ever see and good animations you got, they are amazing.
Aw thank you so much for all of that and checking out my other videos! And thank you for being my 300th sub! 😊 I plan to continue making more videos and interviews down the line, and I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed my work, that really means a lot to me! 😄
Great interview. Though as someone who really enjoys the puzzle jingle it bums me out we didn’t get the full song and it got actively replaced by probably my least favourite in the soundtrack. I understand it probably fit the tone better but man… I hope that song gets released someday.
After playing OneShot in 2023, I'm happy to know the history & ideas that were in development. I'd love to get in contact with the team, but nonetheless, having the history here is appreciated. It's funny listening in that ideas like the Sound Test & Character Bios would be added to the console ports. Even when something is perfect, there's always more to improve. Thank you to all the effort to all parties.
a great interview and a very well made video too. wish this channel gets the attention it deserves OH and the mention of Niko plushie reminded me that Carbot's plushies are back in stock today, so thanks for that
I really loved how you edited all the video, very clean and well made! Also very helpful every time you showed the material they where talking about. I can tell you put a lot of effort in it. Don't take it for granted but I might do Spanish subtitles for it to show my gratitude, also for any Hispanic fans that might be out there, It would take around a month if I do so.
Aw thank you! 😊 I appreciate the gesture a lot! If you do decide to, please don't stress or burden yourself if its too heavy of a task to do. It is 2 hours and I know having to translate that would be a LOT to go through. Not to mention getting the words to synch with what's being said. 😵 You enjoying the video is all I can ever ask for from anybody 😄
It's legit, I can't vouch for RPGmaker . net's site as a whole, but the download should either stat automatically or give you the option to access a media fire link. I re-downloaded it just now to see if I had any issues. When launching the game for the first time you might also get a Windows defender notification, I had this happen to me, but it's safe to play. The only two things I'll note is that 1) once you get to the Glen puzzle and it changes your desktop picture you'll need manually change your desktop top back after you're done 2) I had this issue where some of the fonts looked messed up, I didn't investigate it too much as to why it was happening for me, due to already being familiar with the Steam version, but hopefully it'll be normal for you Hope this helps! 😀
@@AFoxOnTheInternet Note about 1): if you talk to the PC that changes your wallpaper again after clearing the puzzle, it will change it back for you. Most people didn't really think to do this though, so that's why in the steam release the game will change it back automatically once the puzzle is solved now.
I don't know if its just the algorithm doin, well you know algorithm things but I'm so happy that this game is getting more attention, even if it's quite a bit after the release
One thing I find interesting about this interview is when Michael was talking about what he would improve on the game is that what he said what he wanted to do did come to pass on the The World Machine edition.(I played it on Nintendo Switch)I haven’t played the PC version so I don’t know if they did implement a mini map on pc or not in these last two years. Anyhow I love this game to death and Fox Guy on the Internet, I find your content fun and engaging. Keep doing what your love! (And get out of student loans!… Ehehe… I might have to deal with that soon…)
Recently watching this but i notice how they added a lot of things said here on The World Machine Edition of OneShot which is really cool, they tried to improve even more and added little things to it that also makes a little more comfortable to play im pretty sure a lot of people appreciate that. Also, the video is great, everything is well edited and you did a great job at it, watched it entirely, a little late, but amazing video
Hi! sorry for the delayed response and the lack of captioning, I hope you were able to understand the video. It'll take some time but I'll try to include subtitles within this interview as soon as I can. Thank you for bringing it to my attention 😄
@@AFoxOnTheInternet oh, don't worry, for now I have some other videos in watchlist, so when I'll have time to see all of this there will already be captioning :) meanwhile thanks
There are two sequel/spin-off options: 1. You play as Niko is his/her village and world, and he/she reconnects with the player, or 2. You play as an old or new character in Oneshot's world with the sun restored and Niko gone, and just living in that world.
I can't play it yet bc of money problems.. But when I do, I'm gonna make a twist, i ended watching the full story of the game on yt Best 4th wallbreak game yet Sometimes i feel i wanna interact with the characters in the game world itself
I will say I love the “OneShot” Steam achievement. It’s description is “The game back to its roots.” And I love that! As you must beat the game without closing the window, (sleeping and entering the tower don’t count). Just like the old game.
Wonderful interview! Haha, developers were talking about adding a mini-map and I see now they added it in the Console version =) Wow, I accidentally watched the interview on Nightmargin's birthday! :)
1:12:23 I can't tell if Michael was just listing off what was being implemented into the console version, or if his desires led the project's direction. (Okay it's probably the former, but the latter is funny.)
mAN I WAS LIKE 10 WHEN I FIRST PLAY ONE SHOT, AND I PLAYED THE ORIGINAL VERSION, I KILLED NIKO, BC I THOUGHT THE "YOU CANT CLOSE THE GAME" WAS A LIE, AND IT ISINT, I WAS LIKE *TEN* , NIGTHMAREGIN AND ELIZA OWN THE LITTLE 10 YEARS OLD ASTRO A TERAPY
Aw thank you so much!! 😊 I've had a bit of a delay due to life and other projects, but I should have my next video out within the next two or three weeks. 😄
I just beat Oneshot like this morning, and this is as far as I know my first encounter with Oneshot on youtube in quite a while. UA-cam?? Are you spying on me ?!!
Recently, a Video about Oneshot that was made by a channel that had less than 1k Subs at the time. The Video went from 10k ish views to 220k+ Views. Do you think that that video's Algorithmic Success is starting to push your 2 videos on this game to getting more Views than Usual, Fox? Said video was made around 6 months ago.
Is it the video done by Paracosm? My analytics mentioned that a lot of my traffic came from his Why OneShot is the most Underrated Game Ever video and I actually just watched it (it was a good retrospective). My viewership did see a massive spike last week, so I assume the UA-cam gods are doing us both a favor 😅

(Or maybe I'm too ambitious and I'll probably give up at the end but who knows, wish me luck i guess lol)
Thank you! And I wish you the best of luck on your game dev project!! 😄
Me: wait wait wait… Oneshot is updated in the world machine edition with some of these edits!
Fun fact: This is the most viewed video out of all of this channels videos.
And tho other video about OneShot is the second most viewed video
I love nightmargin so muchh ahhhhhh TwT btw love the background sketch
1:31:58 I think I know what they meant that they can't talk about something considering new announcement
Yesterday (on OneShot steam release 5th anniversary) on Night twitter trailer was published that OneShot will be releasing on consoles!
I remember Night and GIR tweeted that something was coming last week but I'm just now finding out that it's coming to consoles!!! I'm excited!!!
I might not be able to relive the initial OneShot experience, but I do plan to pick up the Switch port so I can have emotional turmoil on the go!
Me: *finishes your interview video* that was cool!!
OneShot is one of those games you never forget. The characters, the story, the interesting puzzles you have to solve outside of the game window, everything just works together really well.
The fact that this game was made in a month simply amazes me. Also, the content you make is really good. I hope your channel will grow really well.
It's definitely a gem I wish I could re-experience all over again. 😄 And thank you so much!! 😁
this is one of the most underrated channels ive seen in a while! this feels like a channel with over 1k subs! i feel like you get bigger soon!
Thank you so much!! 😊 I appreciate that!
1:29:00 lmao what a hard decision to make!
Im amazed by how whole video is montaged despite being literally 4 people speaking lol 1:27:19
10:25 i like and hate the uhh how do i say it. game frontpage?
a great interview and a very well made video too. wish this channel gets the attention it deserves
OH and the mention of Niko plushie reminded me that Carbot's plushies are back in stock today, so thanks for that
Aw thank you!! I appreciate that! 😄
And I'm glad I was able to remind you about the Carbot plushie haha
The game is so good and you can’t say no without lieing
😵 You enjoying the video is all I can ever ask for from anybody 😄
i clicked on the link for the original oneshot in the desc. but virustotal flagged it for a bunch of things, can I trust it?
It's legit, I can't vouch for RPGmaker . net's site as a whole, but the download should either stat automatically or give you the option to access a media fire link. I re-downloaded it just now to see if I had any issues. When launching the game for the first time you might also get a Windows defender notification, I had this happen to me, but it's safe to play.
The only two things I'll note is that
1) once you get to the Glen puzzle and it changes your desktop picture you'll need manually change your desktop top back after you're done
2) I had this issue where some of the fonts looked messed up, I didn't investigate it too much as to why it was happening for me, due to already being familiar with the Steam version, but hopefully it'll be normal for you
Hope this helps! 😀
@@AFoxOnTheInternet Note about 1): if you talk to the PC that changes your wallpaper again after clearing the puzzle, it will change it back for you. Most people didn't really think to do this though, so that's why in the steam release the game will change it back automatically once the puzzle is solved now.
@@AFoxOnTheInternet thanks dude! 👍
I didn't know that, but that's good to know! It's definitely the right call to have it automatic in the Steam version 😀
Oneshot devs dont make me beg for a sequel😢😢😢LETMEHUG NIKO
Funny enough, apparently someone was working on a 3D Oneshot, though they've since abandoned the project.
Also, re: the Author's name - TBF, at least half of that could be a legit human name.
I don't know if its just the algorithm doin, well you know algorithm things but I'm so happy that this game is getting more attention, even if it's quite a bit after the release
please tell them how tf they made on little cat feet, tell them to release a flp or something, it slaps!!
you are so underrated! you interviewed with the devs of legendary game!
Aw thank you!! 😊
What. What? WHAT?!
Why does this guy (or fox ;] ) have not even one K subs?! HOW?
Aw thank you! 😄 I'm sure we'll hit 1k soon enough 😁
Came for hearing what NightMargin sounds like.
Stayed for 1:44h of quality content.
Liked and subbed.
Underrated channel.
Thank you so much!! 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😄
The ACTUAL AUTHORS of the WORLD MACHINE! 😳
I love that OneShot it's getting the love it deserves
LESSS Goo we might hit a thousand views!
oh my god the ram club is a reference to actual ram...
I can’t believe this was already 3 years ago. I remember when this came out like it was yesterday.
I really enjoyed this, OneShot really inspired me to make the game I'm currently making... I love hearing stuff from the devs! :D
I was thinking the same thing when I played the World Machine Edition. 😄 And thank you so much!! 😊
Nah this quality deserves a subscription hopefully you keep growing bro you obviously care
congrats on the 1k subs!! i see you're getting the attention you deserve
Aw thank you!! 😊
all three of them, yay
also nice the background music
(I see there is no automatic captioning, this will take longer than expected to watch and understand, f)
Hi! sorry for the delayed response and the lack of captioning, I hope you were able to understand the video.
You've got *One Shot* to be a *[[BIG SHOT]]*
Is Oneshot the only game they made? If so I would love see them make new one.
I just finished Solstice last week. One of the best games I've ever played.
There are two sequel/spin-off options:
1. You play as Niko is his/her village and world, and he/she reconnects with the player, or
2. You play as an old or new character in Oneshot's world with the sun restored and Niko gone, and just living in that world.
I can't play it yet bc of money problems..
But when I do, I'm gonna make a twist, i ended watching the full story of the game on yt
Best 4th wallbreak game yet
Sometimes i feel i wanna interact with the characters in the game world itself
I will say I love the “OneShot” Steam achievement.
It’s description is “The game back to its roots.” And I love that!
As you must beat the game without closing the window, (sleeping and entering the tower don’t count).
Just like the old game.
Wonderful interview! Haha, developers were talking about adding a mini-map and I see now they added it in the Console version =)
Wow, I accidentally watched the interview on Nightmargin's birthday! :)
WAIT OMG I LOVE THIS
Thank you so much for doing this aaaaaaaa
Aw thank you! 😄
This channel is so sweet and cute!! I'd like to be your supporter forever :)
Aw thank you so much!! 😊
ayy this is neat :D
EYYYYYYYY
CONGRATS ON A 100 SUBS MAN
Love ur content and cant wait for more
:D
Aw thank you so much!! 😊 I've had a bit of a delay due to life and other projects, but I should have my next video out within the next two or three weeks. 😄
@@AFoxOnTheInternet pog!
1:15:30 Funny, because I did notice there was one bed in the Steam version you could keep using: Glen #2.
As I understood, none of them develop games full-time. I'd ask them why not
And the fact that NightMargin is adding farming mechanics to Margin of the Strange is crazy lmao
3/3 Yesss
Bro this sounds cringy has fuck but they are just as wonderful as i imagined them
like I've always wondered what they sound like i normally don't care about this but these dudes are so wonderful I'm like happy
I just beat Oneshot like this morning, and this is as far as I know my first encounter with Oneshot on youtube in quite a while.
UA-cam?? Are you spying on me ?!!
how does this channel has less than 1k subs?
@@AFoxOnTheInternet It is by Paracosm!
