I'm 18 and currently working to save up money to get a good gaming laptop since I've never had a strong PC. I'm so excited for 40 series laptops I've watched so many videos about them (including yours). Keep it up Jarrod!
Found the channel years ago to get advice on which laptop to buy, ended up buying a Predator Helios 300 17 inches (kinda like a spesial edition or smth). And ended up staying because of the great Metal band t-shrts as well as good content you bring. Keep it up man.
Weird that the GE68 only goes up to 4070 when previous models have been able to have the 3080 at max wattage. But there are some really interesting new designs and specs throughout all these models. Particularly interested in the new Stealth and Cyborg variants.
That would be a dealbreaker for me. I guess I'll definitely be waiting another year for upgrading. I mean, I'm having problems with creative apps not being able to make use of AMD graphics in Linux (even with the codecs) and video exporting with the encoders keeps failing...
Your videos helped me pick out my Lenovo Legion 5 and even upgraded the RAM (from your videos) giving me 10-12% more performance. Appreciate what you do!
I posted this on Dave2D's video as well. UA-cam algorithm recommended this video. So thought I'll post this here as well just as a caution to anyone looking to get MSI products. It was my first experience with MSI laptops. I got the MSI Raider GE 76 last year (November) and I had a horrible experience with it to the point that I returned it within 3 days. Lets start. MSI's software is just very buggy. BIOS updates are so inconvenient. The screen contrast changed because it was not compatible with Windows 11 update and I had to manually uninstall MSI softwares and reinstall in a specific way to make the problem go away. Those were day 1 problems. Day 2, I was playing Marvel Spiderman via Steam and it worked great for like 5-6 hours of playtime. But suddenly the entire laptop froze. Not the game. NONE of the keys worked. The RGB lighting went off. I couldn't CTRL+ALT+DEL. I had to force restart the laptop. And that problem kept happening every single time after that even for something like using the browser. I factory reset the laptop but that didn't help. In fact, it somehow made it worse(?). I returned it immediately the next day (day 3). The build quality of the laptop is great. It looks great. The RGB is fantastic. It was heavy but it was expected. But JESUS FUCKING CHRIST is the software and MSI's optimization fucking terrible. I spent hours going to forums, watching videos, factory resetting it, updating the BIOS. ANYTHING that let me use the laptop normally and play games. But none of it worked. The forums I visited had the same opinion - MSI's software optimization is shite tier. When the laptop worked as intended, it was fantastic. But that experience was very limited as most of the time I was just fixing issues with this brand new laptop. I told myself that I'll never buy another MSI laptop until they step up their software optimization game. I got myself an ASUS ROG STRIX (3080Ti) after that and had ZERO issues. Yeah, its less powerful than the GE 76 due to the power usage but at least I didn't spend hours trying to figure out what's wrong with my brand new $4-5k laptop. For someone who spent that much money for the first time for a high end gaming laptop, the experience was extremely jarring. So if you're thinking of getting a MSI laptop, just be aware that the issues I mentioned above are actually more common than you'd think. Especially how incompatible MSI software is with almost any Windows 11 update.
One request: When all of this storm settles in. Perhaps you could do a special on “Most powerful in each chassis: 14, 16, 18”). MSI clearly is not putting the most powerful chips in the 16 inch chassis but Asus and Alienware have not missed.
720p camera for GT77 is ridiculous. Don't understand why they keep this again for the new model... Another key question is will the 13 gen processor still lock the Memory frequency for GT with 4 slots? Just like last year decreased from 4800 to 4000 for 2 memories and to 3600 for 4 memories?
You are the man. Your videos are top notch. I bought a Scar 15 with a 3070ti and added more memory and another M.2 back in November 2022 and now I see all these laptops coming out. I should've known better lol, but I am happy with my purchase. Should last me awhile. Great videos though. Keep up the great work.

Still have my MsI GT 60 2013 GTX 780M, 3 SSD and 1 HDD. Top of the line back then. More powerful that unreleased new console generation. But only 6 years Nvidia GPU updates. I replace the gpu in 2020 with oem one and battery in 2021. But games after 2019 wont run well or not at all because lack of Game Ready drivers support. I would love upgrade to the GE78 the closest i think now the GT Titan is another league. Still thinner than my MSI GT ! But don't have money so will keep until 2025, end of Windows 10 support on my PC
I really bet MSI when it's come to gaming and 3D rendering because of its good specs specially my favorite MSI Stealth and Katana line-ups. Thanks for the info Sir Jarrod!
It's good to see MSI finally adding 16:10 machines to their lineup. They always seem to be late on the new trends. Still missing is Advanced Optimus, which is something that even Asus added. I also don't understand the lack of Type C ports on the GP line, and they aren't exactly abundant on the GE line either. As far as I'm concerned, better than last year bust still a step behind the competition in features that I care about.

Raider GE is probably gonna be very close to the Titan without costing as much. I mean, prices will be insane this generation anyways, might as well save something where you can

Well, which would you rather have? Full screen content in movies but with bigger bezels or slight black bars in movies but more content outside of videos/movies and less bezels? I'd take the latter!
720p webcams in 2023 is outrageous it was already outrageous to have 720p in 2019 no reason to cheap out on that even if it won’t be used as much. 720p webcams should be bare minimum for budget laptops 1080p for midrange and 4k for high end.
I don’t know what a lot of these companies are thinking with their display configurations with these new round of laptops. Like why does the 16 inch have the 4K screen and the 17 inch doesn’t?? The 4070 in that 16 will barely be able to push that many pixels in a lot of games. Not to mention the bigger the screen the more you would want 4K rather than 1600p. I just watched a video yesterday where Antoine company did something similar with their bigger screens getting a lower res screen. I really don’t get why none of these companies aren’t using that 240hz oled screeen on the razer and msi raider from late last year.
that stealth 15 oled is going to be way better than razers last years 15 oled it definitely is using the same screen i m sure but still going to cost i feel like 600 dollars less
Alright so this is the second time after the Lenovo video I'm seeing the 4050 with 8GB of VRAM. I might have missed that when Nvidia announced their mobile GPUs but this is making the 4050 out to be a super appealing card for a thinner and smaller gaming laptop. If it's just behind most of the 3060 mobile cards with that sort of VRAM then I'll be more than happy with the performance. I'm in the market for a 14" gaming laptop for my travels while my main gaming laptop stays in my studio. Looking forward to the benchmarks between the MSI Stealth 14 and ASUS G14. I'll pick one of these two.

@@aninfinitemindofmusicandreams i think OEMs had to display it as 8GB at the time because either they didnt have the time to update it or something, either way im sad to say that no 4050 is confirmed to be 6GB moreover the official spec sheet from Nvidia's official website listed it to be 6GB. Besides aint no way a 50 tier mobile card gets a boost from 4GB to 8GB in just 1 generation lol
Wow Msi has a pretty impressive lineup this year. I'll be looking forward to seeing a review on the Stealth 14. If it has upgradeable memory this could be the 14" laptop alot of us have been waiting for. Maybe it will finally be worth downsizing, especially with how promising these new CPU's seem to be.
I use GS series actually. Back 2020, GS66 was a beast. Did Stealth serieas is actually a new kind of categorisation that Msi does to make the GS series has its actual focus?
I wouldn't recommend cyborg 15 while it's the most affordable, it only has 2 usb 3.2 slots not even a extra usb 2.0 like katana or sword series have, who knows where else have they compromised.
Only sad thing is no 18 inch options. But otherwise a great selection of products from MSI from bottom gamers to top. Hopefully some of the models are thermally redesigned.
Have you done a review on this laptop because I was thinking about getting it MSI Sword 15 15.6" Gaming Laptop, 144Hz FHD, Intel Core i7-12650H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB, 16GB DDR4 Memory, 1TB NVMe SSD, Windows 11, White, Sword 15 A12VF-1299
Im looking at 2 laptops at the moment and I'm stuck between them, one has a 12th gen i7 with a 3070 Ti, the other has an 11th gen i9 with a 3070, which one do you think I should go for?
How about the 2023 Msi Bravo 17 C7VFK 17.3" (Ryzen 7-7735HS/16GB/DDR5/GeForce RTX 4050) ? You did not mention this option which came out a little while ago this year, and is the one I am thinking about buying. Any thoughts?
wow after using the 17.3" screen for 3D designing and Photoshop, etc. I want every little bit of screen without going to a external monitor when on the road. 😎 Thanks for the great info.
A shame that the GE68 won't get 4080 and 90, and why is the Stealth 16 studio a different design from the 14? The two tone black and white 14 look sick.

Awesome review!!! Will you review the Stealth 14? it looks very sexy!!!
I hope so! They know I want it :)
Looks like you'll have plenty of material this year.
Just don't forgot the budget gaming laptops, when those become available.
I am hoping to have more focus on them this year. Unfortunately, I received almost none last year.
I use GS series actually. Back 2020, GS66 was a beast. Did Stealth serieas is actually a new kind of categorisation that Msi does to make the GS series has its actual focus?
Does the new GE68 not come with OLED screen anymore?
I wouldn't recommend cyborg 15 while it's the most affordable, it only has 2 usb 3.2 slots not even a extra usb 2.0 like katana or sword series have, who knows where else have they compromised.
Sooooooo, does the MSI Vector gt77 suck?
Cyborg is kinda cool~the translucent design looks quite special!
Do you know something about the price?
Does any of these get a Mini-LED display?
Do we know roughly when a release date will be? soon i hope since my current laptop is busted.
Literally would be on my list if they had one without the keypad
Only sad thing is no 18 inch options. But otherwise a great selection of products from MSI from bottom gamers to top. Hopefully some of the models are thermally redesigned.
I dont get why msi didn't put the same Oled display from last year model. Is so much better than a regular 16:10 display
Have you done a review on this laptop because I was thinking about getting it
MSI Sword 15 15.6" Gaming Laptop, 144Hz FHD, Intel Core i7-12650H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB, 16GB DDR4 Memory, 1TB NVMe SSD, Windows 11, White, Sword 15 A12VF-1299
Reloaded video?🧐
Nope.
Love the raider 😮
wow after using the 17.3" screen for 3D designing and Photoshop, etc. I want every little bit of screen without going to a external monitor when on the road. 😎 Thanks for the great info.
A shame that the GE68 won't get 4080 and 90, and why is the Stealth 16 studio a different design from the 14? The two tone black and white 14 look sick.
I was hoping for the 13900k for overclocking to 5.8 ghz or even up to 6ghz with the 13900k.
That would be cool! Don't think I saw any 12th gen desktop CPU "laptops" last year 🤔 I guess at least HX offers the same core/thread count
@@JarrodsTech gigabyte can overclock there new motherboards to 6ghz with updating the bios called instant 6ghz and its exclusive to gigabyte when I googled it. The 12th gen intel i9-12900k desktop cpu has 16 cores and can go up to 5.2 ghz and the 12th gen Intel i9-12900ks can go up to 5.5 ghz. I'm still looking for a motherboard that supports ddr5 ram at the max speed of 8400 mhz since ddr5 max speed is 8400 mhz. Upon looking at the library of games that I have, I have a decent amount of games that are triple a titles but I always play every game in native 4k with hdr on, rtx on and dlss off and nothing less than 4k. Crysis remastered is the reference and the benchmark that I use when comparing triple a titles because of the can it run crysis mode.
Even IF a laptop could handle something up near 6GHz (turbo power on the top end has gotten absolutely insane, 300W WTAF?!) the performance would never be as fast as on a desktop platform due to suboptimal laptop DRAM signal routing hurting stability.
@@greebj The msi gt76 titan from 2019 has the Intel i9-9900k desktop cpu and all 8 cores can be overclocked to 5ghz. There is a video about it on linus tech tips and there is an old video from jarrod tech that talks about the msi gt76 titan laptop.
