The Cyborg 15 seems like a homerun. A budget laptop with an efficient GPU and a CPU with plentiful efficiency cores, I am bullish on the battery backup performance of this bad boy. Would love to see a battery review once the embargos are lifted.
There is absolutely no way that the fully spec’d version will cost $999. It will START at $999 probably with a 4050 and i5-13500, but I can assure you it will jump dramatically to get the top spec model.
1000$ for a intel 12 gen (which are still súper good) and an rtx 40 series, with nice esthetic? That sounds really great. Whenever that laptop gets on sale I bet is going to sale really well
Last gen the first laptop releases were giving the 60 tier GPU and current gen CPU for $1000, now they wanna give a 50 tier GPU and last-gen CPU for that price. Not terrible but definitely not great
I have an early-2021 GE76 Raider with an 10870H and 3070 Max-P, which ended up being a really good games performer and Ethereum miner. I'm hoping to get that top-end Titan with the 4090 when it comes out. What a beast that laptop is going to be.

As for the content, that first laptop looks INSANE. Really want those mini LEDs. Will be buying that down the road!
I got the MSI Raider GE 76 last year and I had a horrible experience with it to the point that I returned it within 3 days. MSI's software is just very buggy. BIOS updates are so inconvenient. The screen contrast changed because it was not compatible with Windows 11 update and I had to manually uninstall MSI softwares and reinstall in a specific way to make the problem go away. Those were day 1 problems. Day 2, I was playing Marvel Spiderman via Steam and it worked great for like 5-6 hours of playtime. But suddenly the entire laptop froze. Not the game. NONE of the keys worked. The RGB lighting went off. I couldn't CTRL+ALT+DEL. I had to force restart the laptop. And that problem kept happening every single time after that even for something like using the browser. I factory reset the laptop but that didn't help. In fact, it somehow made it worse(?). I returned it immediately the next day (day 3). The build quality of the laptop is great. It looks great. The RGB is fantastic. It was heavy but it was expected. But JESUS FUCKING CHRIST is the software and MSI's optimization fucking terrible. When the laptop worked as intended, it was fantastic. But that experience was very limited as most of the time I was just fixing issues with this brand new laptop. I told myself that I'll never buy another MSI laptop until they step up their software optimization game. I got myself an ASUS ROG STRIX (3080Ti) after that and had ZERO issues. Yeah, its less powerful than the GE 76 due to the power usage but at least I didn't spend hours trying to figure out what's wrong with my brand new $4-5k laptop.

The general tone was that MSI's optimization was terrible and their software implementation is highly incompatible with a lot Windows 11 updates. It's just unfortunate since I actually loved the laptop when it did work and before the problems popped up. It was my first time buying such a high end gaming laptop for such a high value. So having THAT as my experience was just jarring to me. Never again :)

I was experiencing a good bit of thermal throttling and after a re-paste, undervolting, and downclocking the turbo frequencies a bit it's generally staying in the 80c range save some occasional spikes. This is on an 11800h CPU.

I hope these are more reliable. I got a GSI 63 Stealth back in 2018 and that thing gave me so many problems from defective RAM, defective motherboard, and two inflated batteries.

The problem with laptops are they will stop working after a year or two. Of course this isn’t always the case but the CPU will be cooked almost all the time.

The 14" by far my favorite. SPECIALLY with a 4070. And I just purchased one with the 3070ti. At least the price was very good. Wonder how much will be this 14" and if they will offer OLED screen as option
Wicked 80's tron aesthetic on most of the laptops, can also dig the translucency on the Cyborg, reminds me of controllers from the 90's and 00's. Usually all I have is hate for modern visual design, but MSI's artists and engineers did a fantastic job.

Nvidia has always had garbage Linux support so probably a no-go on any of these. It's a shame really because you have lots of good hardware that has to run Windows and can't be used with a decent OS.
I own an msi ge76 w3070. Looking forward to the newer models. I prefer the current light bar over the new. But will sacrifice for performance if the returns are there
MSI is the only company without and 18 incher. But you know what that's fine. It looks like they've covered most of the price market quite nicely. Definitely a good strategy for every gamer.
Had a Dell 15 inch 2070 laptop since 2019 hard drive died on me and was saving for an upgrade anyway, got an Msi Cyborg 15 with 4060 can get 100 fps on MW3 on normal settings and 140 fps on FF14 max with 4k resolution. Fan is much quieter and doesn't get as hot than Dell laptop, saves on the energy bill as well 3p per hour on my tariff compared to 6p an hour on the Dell laptop without using any of the intel or nvidia software to put cpu or gpu onto more energy efficient modes. looks are very subtle but also not cheap so I can use it in the library or lecture halls only downside is fingerprints stain like crazy so don't eat crisps or greasy food while your using it fits into my rucksack easily power brick is small as well
I'm looking forward to the stealth series, I have a Dell XPS right now and there's a ton of burnt pixels on the screen >_< so I think it's time to try another company out

last gen laptops will be getting some really good discounts which is what you would probably want. The 30 series GPUs (3060 and up anyways) are good enough to run most games at respectable frame rates at QHD. Most of what I enjoy are older titles anyways.
Dave, While I know they are not the same but why can't NVIDIA put the mobile 40X0 series on a card to go in a desktop? Surely it would be smaller and less power hungry than Desktop versions. I know the model numbers are not one to one equivalents 'power' wise.

Dave, While I know they are not the same but why can't NVIDIA put the mobile 40X0 series on a card to go in a desktop? Surely it would be smaller and less power hungry than Desktop versions. I know the model numbers are not one to one equivalents 'power' wise.
i imagine it's partly cost? the power savings would be great but it would just make desktop cards even MORE expensive

Stealth 16, yummy :DD Like tailor made for me, I only wish in production model there's black heat chamber or at least black heatpipes, and that's it, everything else is perfect, the design, screen, expandability, ports, everything !!
That Cyborg laptop looks good but the material also looks like it would break Even with the sligthest touch
And if the performance of the 4050 is on par with 3060 then it would just sound like a rename

Loving all CES 2023 laptops… great to see mini-led 16/10 screens, 13th gen Intel and 40x0 gpu but as a long time laptop user, this transparent cases trend and large formats (16 to 18) comeback make the twist. Hope they all worked on computer speakers too…
