So we consider ourselves "Latinos" because of our language and the Spaniard/Portuguese/French heritage, but also Americans because it is the continent in which we live.and where our indigenous roots come from. I don't know if a European, Asian or African receives this kind of response when they claim the name of the continent in which they were born as their own. @@Tritone The Latino identity, instead of "Latin American" was invented by Mestizo Frank del Olmo about 25 years ago. He even fooled the U.S. Census Bureau into adopting the "Hispanic-Latino" term to identify the Ethnicity of the Spanish-speaking people of the Americas. First of all saying Latino/a when speaking or writing in English is grammatically incorrect-should be LATIN masculine and feminine.. Secondly, Latin only refers to Latin languages and Latin Culture. Both Romans, both Italians. These are the Latins: Italians, French, Romanians, Portuguese and Spaniards and have been Latin for more than 2000 years. Nobody can change it. Frank del Olmo should have inquired about the real meaning of Latino/Latin before trying to pass it as an Ethnicity for Spanish-speaking people.-

In the US or in any country of Latin America you get automatically citizenship if you are born there, but this isn't the case in Europe. Your nationality isn't always of the country u were born in. Look how many children in the UAE who were born there still don't have Emirati citizenship and some even had to leave the country once they turned 18. Both my parents are immigrants from South America and I was born here, but Spanish was my first language. I'm so thankful for my Hispanic culture cause I've experienced so many beautiful things through it. I'm also thankful for being American cause there's so many opportunities, freedom and diversity of other cultures here. I've never felt or experience any discrimination or racism, but I have felt pressure to make sure I spoke my Spanish well so I can sound Hispanic enough to my Spanish speaking family here and in South America, and speak my English well too. I've always felt proud of being part of two places and embraced it. I grew up in a very diverse city and schools. I've never felt or been told there were any barriers I couldn't cross cause I was Latina. My dad worked hard when he came here and still does. If I learned if I wanted something I needed to put the work and time in.

Being a Latino seems to be hard to understand to non-Latinos. Including Americans who think they are Latinos because they have a parent. It's true that you don't need to be born in Latin America to be a Latino, but it is also true you don't need to be born in Latin America and have Latino parents. No one is born a Latino, you become a Latino. And the way you become a Latino is simple: you participate and celebrate our culture. You embrace our traditions and customs. You might be an American with Latino roots. You might feel confused, but the Americans are confused too. We have all kind of people in Latin-America. We have all the skin colors and races, Latin America is diverse. We have Australians, Asians, Middle Easterns, Russians, Africans, Canadians and all of them are Latinos for they decided to embrace our culture, it's just that simple.

Latino is Spanish and Italian for Latin. Latin people come from Latin Europe which are France, Italy, Spain, Italy,Andorra, Portugal, and Romania.
Hispania was a region in the Roman Empire/Republic. It’s what we call today as Portugal and Spain but Spain took the name for themselves.
    Latin >>> Hispania
    Spanish >> Espania
    English >> Spain
Hispania is Latin for Spain and Hispanic is Latin for Spanish. Hispanic people come from Spain.

Having some family roots to latin American countries does not makes those people automatically part of a « latino » identity.., this is pure multiculturalist brainwashing... this idea that we should be reduced to what our ancestors were for eternity. If these people are living and born in the US, have english as main language, have adopted American mindset about races as it seem they have... there definitly are not latin/latino anymore...
Being latin is a bout having a culture that is rooted in the latin (romance) languages, countries of roman cultural heritage... we are far from this with these people who seem totally assimilated to USAmerican culture, an Anglo-saxon culture...

Everyone have a different culture of are Latinos that are from family to family Latina at the Latino and a big family that are over how to well if someone is different but are you think that they're all look like the same but it could be very confusing but I have to say this to everyone that it is only to have respectfully. Well for many different Latinos different people in different Flagger as well that are coming over where the same flag or different flag is like a different family of a different culture it is but there's always to have is 412 respectfully and responsibilities and including the for all of you right now than whoever you are there's always to have a chance for working to the Latinos and Americans and as always to have a to be United but sometimes that that that United is like the worst time ever in five decades ago but I understand this. Who started this and everything was divided but we always to have a sentences for wonderful it's like a big family of a bigger Baker responsibilities and a big ugly sped that are from Americans to respect for Latinos especially that everyone noticed that everyone have a different names on it where it's on the Spanish name it is but it's kind of complicated that the other many of you that you think that a people that speak English but people also that it speak Spanish as well but the only wise it is frightful for that is weird to be responsibility is always to bring a how to say this about future or the future that I offer to bring a translator and does over to have is working together is well for understanding to teach for learn to idea and even a better future right here on United States of America and that's always starting is more how going to be Saturday is bigger family and a bigger United

I was going to write in English, but I think I will also do it in Spanish.have seen many videos of U.S. citizens concerned about Hispanic migration. In the United States, citizens believe that Hispanics will always migrate to the U.S. and this in 10 years, will not continue, GAME OVER. the subordination of the economy from Mexico to Argentina will turn to Asia Pacific, which will be equivalent to 60% of its income and relations with the U.S. will fall to less than 30%, but it is expected that relations with the U.S. will continue to strengthen, but Latin America will be China. They do not see how China helps to build ports, roads and collaborates in the modernization of Hispanic cities, they are looking again to activate the intra-country movement of goods, money and people freely from one country to another. No borders as if it were a single country, far away but it will be

Italians don’t even call themselves Latins or Latinos so how this term came to be applied to descendants of people who were conquered and colonized by Spanish conquistadors makes no sense.

"Latinos" "Hispanos" son etiquetas impuestas por los estadounidenses para diferenciarse racialmente del resto del continente. Latinos e hispanos no son razas ni etnias tan solamente son conceptos lingüísticos y culturales.
