- In this video I’m making a chair from two oak 1x4’s. I don’t own a jointer or a planer, so I wanted to find an easier way to make a chair from pre-milled lumber from the local home improvement store. I will be making a second video focusing more on the design process and why and how I designed this chair.

Birch dowels (10mm)
L-brackets for attaching the seat
Screws
Painter’s tape
Wood glue
TOOLS I USED:
Pen
Ruler
Straight edge
Band saw
Miter saw
Table saw
Drill press (optional)
Belt sander (optional)
Screwdriver
Drill bit 10mm
Battery powered drill
Orbital sander
Rubber mallet
Clamps

I like your 90° block. Simplest solution ever. I like the design, the visible dowels, and your assembly. I am a sucker for rounding at least some of the edges with a router, but that's a personal preference. Great job!

Just bought your plans! Really have enjoyed watching this build and I'm excited to try it out. I'm using this as a practice chair to learn with before designing my own. My wife and I really like the minimal style and want to shoot for a mid-century modern chair build sometime to go with other builds I've done. Your design is really nice and seems straightforward!

i have a dirty workshop and i make furniture for a living.I beleive that when i go to heaven my work will be done done simple ,and clean as shown in your video.Your design is very beautifull too.

I'm a big fan of paper templates, and cutting up to a line. It's very easy to remove wood... but not so easy to put it back! Great channel!

Like you said with the finish, I find as soon as you apply anything to oak that makes it yellow or darker it instantly dates the piece. Its surprising how good it looks when you keep the natural finish. Great job.
