Hey Miles. Love your work and this project is awesome. Made something similar with a secret drawer and released the video today. Have subscribed and will be checking out your other builds. Regards James One Handed Maker
Miles!!! This is amazing! What a great accomplishment for your first piece of large furniture! You have such an eye for beauty and design, I love watching you take an idea and develop it from sketches into a beautiful creation. Busy summer for you...remember to kick your feet up and enjoy a lemonade every now and then ;)
dude everything about the design and construction of this cabinet was just absolutely stunning. the gaps in the front facia did bother me but from far away with the contrast no one would notice and its absolutely beautiful
You're truly gifted. I really can't wait to see where your journey takes you. I can see pieces branded "Made by Miles" being top shelf products to get at somepoint. This Cabinet I'd get without hesitation.
Stunning work! I loved the cabinet. I’ve been searching for a nice one for over a year and this is by far the best. You are so talented and I hope this takes you places 🎉
This is incredible. So sorry that this hasn't blown up yet - it should have! Hopefully your modern maker challenge entry will bring you some more hits (I came here from the recommendation from the last podcast - congrats!)
Love it Miles! Thanks for making this! You have really been doing a lot of work with repetitive patterns in your projects and I can't wait to see how you continue to explore with more of them.
wie kann man nur so ruhig und genau das ganze Projekt zusammenfügen? Ich würde ständig fluchen und alle Dinge drei mal auseinander klopfen, weil es nicht passt. Tolle Arbeit super!!
Another innovative project- I'm really enjoying your designs and builds. I hope that you keep on designing, making, building and sharing with us on UA-cam!
You keep taking it to a new level. Ann said as she watched, " Look he builds on the driveway just like you!" Yes honey, great minds think alike. But from you Miles I have learned about CA glue and yea I should have purchased some self centering drill bits when I first used one more than forty years ago. You have added a drone to your video production kit too, I think. Great video!
Thank you so much for your comment and for taking time to watching my video ;) These are all tricks I've been fortunate enough to learn from other people in this community and by watching other videos of people building things. Thank you!
Pretty amazing. I’m just getting into woodcraft. I’m a Pipefitter welder. And I’m really enjoying it. I’m going to try this build on a hidden shelf. Thanks.
Jesus, I rarely see such skill and craftsmanship at such a young age. VERY IMPRESSED! Such care, patience, skill. Can I hire you to build me a TV cabinet?
Awesome job! Love the ingenuity, craftsmanship and attention to detail! You give this old curmudgeon hope that quality and craftsmanship will survive into the future... well done!!!
i genuinely have no idea what youre saying half the time (i have no experience in wood work or crafting or anything of the sort) but your videos are so well made and well formatted that i end up watching the entire thing! and the builds turn out super cool every time. keep up the great work :D
This is beautiful. I am just getting into woodworking and would love to be able to do something like this. Thanks for sharing your talent and being an inspiration.
There's not much too it really, the TV just pushes it up and back. I added a little curved piece of metal on the back of the TV to make it slide smoother but that would really depend based on what TV you have!
I spent the past days watching pretty much every one of your videos and I don't have words for your creativity and incredible projects. Simply amazing!
OMG ! Miles, dude you're an amazing young innovator. I just bought a new 85" to replace the 70" in the family room and I plan to use your idea for my old 70" for outdoors and freak out the world when I have them over and pop-up my 70" from a cabinet like yours. You gotta be super talented because my handsome Daschund name is Miles Davis and he's the Koolest LOL ! Please feel free on giving me pointers I should consider making a Large cabinet for the outdoors protected by the elements. Thanks Bro !
You did a great job! I think it would look so much better if you put some shelves in the front cabinet to show some cool things for others to see! Don't get me wrong, the shape of the cabinet still looks great it just has the vibe of the 80's TV cabinet! I hope you don't take my words as a discouragement to do great things!
Hi Miles, can you say more about how to make the angled front blocks at 11:23? You mentioned you're cutting at a 25 degree angle. What are the dimensions of that board? How far away from the board are you setting the saw blade? I'm having difficulty getting two equal sides.
Hey James, it was really just trial and error for me to get the right sized blocks. In terms of the size that I ripped the initial wood to, I didn't use a specific measurement, but rather cut off all the side to get rid of the rounded corners and left the fence at the same position for all the cuts. I just rotated the piece 90 degrees and cut every side making sure to remove only enough material to get rid of the rounded edge. Once you do a few tests and get it the way you like it, I recommend just leaving the fence in the position and do all the rest of your cuts! Good luck ;)
I think this is my favorite piece of yours. Looks super elegant. Where do you buy your wood/plywood? I'm in the Portland area as well and am always looking for suppliers.
Thanks Andrew! Probably my favorite as well. I get walnut plywood at Mr. Plywood up in Montavilla. Also sometimes just getting the maple style 3/4" plywood at Lowe's. I was super surprised because a half inch sheet of hardwood plywood was cheaper than the construction grade at Lowe's. Lumber prices are just so weird haha
@Make with Miles I really liked the pattern you came up with and I am going to make my own. Wondering if the final build was very stable with the TV in the UP position? There are concerns with Cabinets like this with tipping over...
Your videos are great quality but above and beyond that, the projects you choose are really awesome! Keep up regular uploads likes these and I’d be surprised if you don’t hit 100k subs within a year
Well done young fella. Thoroughly enjoyed this video! Considered skipping through (when first opened it) however, watched it fully as you have put together a great project! Will be watching more! 👍🇦🇺
Lovely video! The chunky outer frame was a great call, and I gotta get me one of these self-centering drill bits :) Could watch it opening and closing all day long!
Awesome build Miles! How did you get the lid to fully open when you pop up the tv and did you put a mechanism in place for the the to close on its own when the TV is retracted?
Thanks for watching everyone! If you want to support what I do, sharing this video is a great way to help out the channel.

Miles! Nice piece. Can you please share your blueprint with us?
I don’t get how this channel is not getting at least 1M views for each video. So satisfying!!!
Love the retro 50's mid-century modern vibe you got going on. And so excellently done. Not everyone gets the details right like you have.👍👍
Thanks Tom! I'm really enjoying that era of design, and just experimenting with different ideas in that style.
so true creative and brilliant
Miles, you are extraordinary at what you do. Congratulations. It is really a lot of craftsmanship and a lot of talent for such a work of art.
This is literally one of the coolest things I’ve seen In a very long time! That secret button was an amazing idea too!
Thank you so much Corbett! I really appreciate it. I'm glad the hidden button ended up working ;)

Thank you so much!
dude everything about the design and construction of this cabinet was just absolutely stunning. the gaps in the front facia did bother me but from far away with the contrast no one would notice and its absolutely beautiful
I was dying to see how you made the front of this cabinet - genius! Love the edge banding too. Beautiful piece!
You're truly gifted. I really can't wait to see where your journey takes you. I can see pieces branded "Made by Miles" being top shelf products to get at somepoint. This Cabinet I'd get without hesitation.
Nice work. Only thing I would change would be to move the sound bar to the top.
Miles beyond the measly DIY TV Lift Cabinet projects seen elsewhere. Kudos for style and functionality.
You are so crazy talented man. Not only with the woodworking but the videos you do... So slick.
Stunning work! I loved the cabinet. I’ve been searching for a nice one for over a year and this is by far the best. You are so talented and I hope this takes you places 🎉
Awesome work man! Love the texture in the front and the weight of the case.
Thank you so much Nick! It means a lot coming from you. Also nice to know there a fellow maker in Milwaukie ;)

Miles this is amazing! such a cool idea with the patterned front helping conceal the hidden switch!
This is incredible. So sorry that this hasn't blown up yet - it should have! Hopefully your modern maker challenge entry will bring you some more hits (I came here from the recommendation from the last podcast - congrats!)
Oh thank you so much! I am going to be posting my guitar build video soon as part of the challenge. Thanks for watching ;)
So cool. I love how complex your builds look and then to see you break them down into much more manageable pieces. Very inspiring
This is by far the BEST tv/cabinet build I’ve seen great job.
Love it Miles! Thanks for making this! You have really been doing a lot of work with repetitive patterns in your projects and I can't wait to see how you continue to explore with more of them.

Beautiful piece. Love seeing what
You create!

You really have good feeling for woodworking. All your items are build very nice and precise.
I like that!
OMG my mind is blown. Every time I watch you make things I wonder to myself where you pull these fantastic ideas from. You are an amazing builder.
Yo this ain't even just woodworking anymore, it's straight up art

I don't see any mention of how the cover opens and closes so perfectly. Would love to know more about that.
There's not much too it really, the TV just pushes it up and back. I added a little curved piece of metal on the back of the TV to make it slide smoother but that would really depend based on what TV you have!

Thank you so much ;) Those self centering bits really alleviate so much frustration lol!

Fantastic job man! Congratulations!👍🏻

This looks really good. I also really like the style of your videos. I can tell you put a lot into them.
Amazing job. Is the lift quiet, or does it make a whine in activation?
Cool build mate. Good luck with future builds.
Nice work mate! I've been doing this kinda work for years and you impress me with your innovations. Hats off to ya bro
