G1MRA 75 Show 2022 4K

A quick look at the gauge 1 Model Railway Associations 75th Anniversary event at Bicester in October 2022. There was quite a wide variety of scales represented from N gauge to five inch and model vehicles as well as trains, all set in a 1930's ex RAF hanger that used to house Halifax bombers and other WW2 flying machines. As well as G1MRA there were several model railway associations represented including the G Scale Society and the 16mm Association where we had both kit built German prototypes and scratch built coal fired locos from the Ffestiniog and Welsh highland.
I couldn't resist adding a snatch of song from Not the Nine O'clock News to the trucking scene (you can find the whole sketch elsewhere on You Tube)

If you are short of space then 16mm Narrow gauge is another option as you can have tighter curves and shorter trains - check out www.16mm.org.uk live steam is popular and both Roundhouse and Accucraft produce a range of locos, there are also lots of battery powered electric options
