I recognize that your circumstances probably dictate how much metal detecting and video production is possible, but I just wanted to let you know that your videos are second to none when it comes to great shots of your surroundings, wildlife, etc. In the same way, your identification of finds and displaying them after cleanup is also first class. Undoubtedly is you ever decided to do this as a full time UA-camr you would be successful.

I agree with you completely. Watching this channel soothes my anxiety by bringing perspective to my life and all lives. Here we see remains of the often tumultuous past in serene natural settings that are somehow insulated from the tumultuous present. All things pass.

Sadly, with advancing years and increasing world turmoil I've had to give up on those plans. Hello Hans, good to see you again on what must be, "the footpath of long lost treasures", for me the little bell is a jem find. This footpath possibly has been in use for hundreds of years, hence the aged and interesting finds. Looking forward to seeing your next detecting share, Frohe Weinachten mein Freund.

Beautiful video, Hans…..so much GOLD!!! ( the leaves! ). The little owl object has an art deco feel to it. I wonder if it might have come off a ladies hat pin…they often had a pin that came out the center of the back. The buckle and bell were soooo beautiful! I love that you don’t clean the finds in the field but wait till you can do it properly. It makes the reveal shots very enjoyable as we can now see ALL the details and surprises, such as the beautiful filigree pattern on the buckle! The finds accumulating on the sides of the path must be indicating where people stepped to the side to take a break…perhaps to put on or remove a jacket, to have some food, or just to stop to let others traveling faster, go past. If those trees could talk!

As an American with German DNA I want to say that I seem to connect in with ease, yes I do believe we have memoires in the DNA and it can be accessed. Thank you for assisting in allowing this.

When I was a kid living in Germany in the early 1960's we used to sew the ring of those little pendants on to our Bavarian hats. We would pick one up everywhere we went.

Hans I have been watching u from the beginning and it is amazing how far u have came. I love the respect you show the items AND the land and it's absolutely beautiful there. I have been detecting for 40 yrs and I turned 65 today. I love the hobby and it keeps me active. Thank you for taking me detecting somewhere I'll never get to go.
Always worth the wait for another one of your beautifully shot videos Hans... TerraGermania definitely stands out as the best quality detecting videos on the web. So nice to see the path in another season with those vibrant colours all around, truly magical. Also the fungi are fascinating. My favourite find was the handcrafted buckle: I try to imagine a craftsman sculpting those ornate details 400-600 years ago; and the well dressed person who must have been so frustrated at losing such a piece. We also hope the ancient path will be never ending for you. Always looking forward to your next day out!
