HI Tran my three barrel system (plans from you) works well I've just added another two gravel filter barrels though. I haven't seen my water so clear, no UV light either its a great simple set up. Surprisingly I only back wash every three to four months except the moving bed. The pond is three years old and 8000 litres and contains some big happy Koi fish. Keep up the great video's from OZ
Looking nice. Is you check valve at the pump or at the shed? With the exposed piping I think I might have it at the shed, incase someone trips on a pipe and knocks it loose. Only my marsh marigold is growing nicely right now. Everything else is just coming out of dormancy. Quite jealous.
The check valve is on the outside by the edge of the pond (at the elbow joint). I have no room inside the shed to install it there. Also having the check valve outside makes it easier for me to remove and bring it inside for the winter months. In term of tripping, the whole area on that side of the pond is blocked off from any pedestrian. So no issue of people tripping over and knocking it off.
