This game reminds me of the joy of waking up at 7AM and seeing the scroll of “School closed due to snow.” When you’re 8 years old, there’s nothing in the world better than breakfast, Road Rash 2, and an afternoon of snow.
“School closed due to snow.” - is that some kind of joke? What snow has to do with anything? If that happened in my country, school would be closed for half a year, and then quater a year in the summer holidays. So only a quarter of year open )))
I had this game for a long time before I sold it on Ebay. I think we rented one of the road rash games when i was 9 then i ended up getting this game for my 10th birthday.
One time I spent all my money in a Diablo N. Had no option except ending the race. That bike was so fast, couldn´t control it and wrecked it in no time. Instead coming back to my bike, see it exploding and lose, I've decided to run for 40 minutes to the end line, with my bike crawling behind me from far and returning every time a police officer appeared at the horizon, so I could make him go away. Thankfully I did it and could write down that damn password I forgot recording before. Epic game.
So my favorite memory of this game was when I passed a car heading in the same direction. I crossed the finish line as the guy is going “YEAH YEAH YEAH!” The car comes up from behind hits me “Whoaaaeeaaah!!” I fell over laughing.
I love a scene in the game. when he falls too many times and the ambulance comes, just pick up the motorbike away, and leave him behind even though he is still waving
Sega tried to jump onto the Road Rash bandwagon with their 1995 arcade game Cool Riders (which also borrowed elements from Super Hang-On and OutRun), which was never ported to any home system.
Remember wishing I could ride to those places in the distance and ride up the mountains and explore. I think this was my number 1 game during the summer of 1996.
Same! The Tennessee track looks a lot like where I live and I would often say that I’d pass by a local convenience store when I’d pass one on the track
When I see viper, Lawson and p.e no.1 now we can all sit down and laugh but back then we all wanted the glory at any cost , nothing but respect for those warriors.
You got your bigger/more well-known states of Alaska, Arizona, Tennessee, and Hawaii...then, there's Vermont. As a kid from Vermont whose tiny home state is often overlooked in pop-culture, I thought that was pretty damn cool.
I see everyone seems to do the same: as soon as you get the club or the chain, give it a practice swing in the air. Also, give everyone a whack as you go past them. Just because. And they worry about todays kids...
The good old Road Rash. One of my favourite childhood game on the Mega Drive along with Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Monaco GP, Streets of Rage and more. Great times playing Road Rash for hours after school & taking days off. P. E. NO. 1 was mostly annoying to deal with on Road Rash 2 until Road Rash 3 with Lucky Luc that was the next annoying type with his Oil Can wasting to deal with at a short moment until he makes his mistakes. Lol! Great memory of the old school gaming!
You know what you can also do? Play it! Shit, I just realized I'm replying to decade-old comments. You could be DEAD! I could be talking to a dead person!
I think this might be the most difficult game in the world to complete. RickyC has earned my admiration. I'm at stage 5 and haven't managed to complete a single race after well over a year of trying. One day I might finish a level 5 race I hope at best.
It's a really hard game that's for sure. Like a lot of megadrive games it doesn't give you much room to make mistakes. If you crash more than twice( and you probably will) you might as well start the race again.
wow i used to play this for hours. I remember an epic crash where I hit a road sign at that crazy speed (227mph i believe it was), the highest speed with the nitrous boost...i skidded and bounced for like 500 feet before landing on top of a cow...which began to make questionable noises. Hilarious game.
I remember playing this as a kid and I found out the kick move was better because you could make them fly into things which would whip them out right away
Man, I used to play the crap out of this as a kid. Loved the first one too. Brings back great memories playing splitscreen with friends. I remember feeling bad the first time I knocked a cop off of his bike! :D
Hands down, one of the best games I ever played. good times, lots of laughs, no microtransactions... the game had some basic graphics, yeah... but it was fun to be a kid, ride a motorcycle and beat people with chains, bats, crowbars, cattle prods... and kick them into oncoming traffic!
1:45:00 What Warhammer just said will make you think whenever you have the higher energy to maintain at the unforgiving torture of an extra long miles at Level 5 with such unnecessary obstacles. 1:56:58 ROTFL! One of the hilarious way to finish the race. XD 1:57:12 P. E. NO. 1's mad.
When you cross the finish line and you see a rider skidding across this line with no bike! This game used to make me laugh so much I used to fall asleep laughing at memories of playing it. NO other console had this level of gameplay at the time.
Who else besides me use to always look for officer O'Rourke just to have him swing his club at at you and steal it, then knock him off his bike and laugh. I know I did!
One of those games like Worms and Sensible soccer that I keep coming back to, after a bad day at work it's nice to get on your bike and beat another racer with a club or chain, very therapeutic...
Man that takes some doing nearly qualifying all of level 2 with Shuriken 400. I always play RR2 like this Level 1 up to Arizona Shuriken 400. Level 1 Vermont and all of level 2 Panda 600. Level 3 Shuriken TT250 Level 4 Shuriken 1000N or Banzai 7.11 (depends how much money is in the kitty) Level 5 Diablo 1000N

“School closed due to snow.” - is that some kind of joke? What snow has to do with anything? If that happened in my country, school would be closed for half a year, and then quater a year in the summer holidays. So only a quarter of year open )))
Kicking someone into an oncoming car = Best. Feeling. Ever.
Hahahahaha
Oh man always tried to pull that off. Loved it when it happened haha
Time stamp?
SJ NM Agreed..also stealing a police club and beat him off his motorcycle with it
lol yes, for me it's stealing their weapon, striking them with it making them crash, and leaving them in the dust!
No mercy for viper, lawson & P.E. NO.1, they'd all get taken out before the finish line.
God i loved this game!
Viper always a pit stop to grab a chain.

Not really, this is Rob Hubbard.
@@DerpDerp3001_playsyes really.
Road Rash 2 had a great theme, great soundtrack, and gameplay. Since then, all the other Road Rash games were never the same.
3 was pretty good
I agree with you totally.

I had this game for a long time before I sold it on Ebay. I think we rented one of the road rash games when i was 9 then i ended up getting this game for my 10th birthday.
Road rash for PlayStation was decent

Thats hilarious
Viper ruined my childhood
+reniisgod Best comment! That son of a bitch was always there
fuck yea
reniisgod lol me too
Viper and Buffy were my favorite sources of chain! Still, I always loved kicking them into cows.
Facts!
So my favorite memory of this game was when I passed a car heading in the same direction. I crossed the finish line as the guy is going “YEAH YEAH YEAH!” The car comes up from behind hits me “Whoaaaeeaaah!!” I fell over laughing.
Я всегда любил между 2 машинами правда не всегда удавалось))
I love a scene in the game. when he falls too many times and the ambulance comes, just pick up the motorbike away, and leave him behind even though he is still waving
P. E. No. 1 was the biggest pain in the ass
Viper too
I just hate viper only hahaha
Soundtrack to my childhood.
The music is even better than I remembered! Agh, those beats.
The Road Rash games were like Hang-On and Streets of Rage thrown into a blender. Great memories with this game.
+Retro Gaming Guitarist even with using the "secret bike" I never got very far....2 hours...WOW for this type of game I'd say that's pretty long
Retro Gaming Guitarist I agree two awesome games blended
Sega tried to jump onto the Road Rash bandwagon with their 1995 arcade game Cool Riders (which also borrowed elements from Super Hang-On and OutRun), which was never ported to any home system.
This game required you to gain ultimate mastery over the dilation of your own sphincter.
That crash at 1:44:38 is amazing!

pushing people into obstacles, hitting with weapons, getting big air, the gameplay was awesome.
those tunes are so catchy
TheBongoBonk sounds like Stevie Ray Vaughan
For some odd reason it make one do the biker shuffle dance on the beginning of the song.
The Alaska tune sounds like somebody's humming during the chorus.
When I see viper, Lawson and p.e no.1 now we can all sit down and laugh but back then we all wanted the glory at any cost , nothing but respect for those warriors.
Road rash would make an amazing multiplayer online racer for this gen.
Do it. Now.
They should bring it back

@@voided76 that is an absolutely terrible game, totally lacking the feel of Road Rash.

wrapping a chain around an opponent always felt so satisfying
Viper Is So Aggressive. Always Gave Me A Hard Time. Lol
Shaneice Jackson I love you shoe nice
Viper was always a badass.
This was the best Road Rash hands down. If only the game wouldn't drop frames so hard, then it'd have been perfect.
Such an epic game, brings back so many memories.
Hilarious how you sometimes fell and slid your way to ending the race ! 😂
Loved knocking someone off their bike and then immediately adding insult to injury by running them over to catch some air.

The Road Rash series needs to come to modern consoles! Don't touch the gameplay or graphics or music, just take my money...
Also add online multiplayer 😆

The best Road Rash In my opinion and the best soundtrack!
That Hawaii track was amazing. The tension of it. Great job!
Brings a lot of memories
This one was alright. Out of all the Road Rash games, the original is still the best to me.
It took me forever to realise that p.e no1 was public enemy no1
Best feeling ever is collecting a chain from an opponent and lashing him with it. P.E No 1 was my worst nightmare.
Oh the nostalgia
The chain was a godly weapon
