- Julia weaned her 2 year old son at the beginning of the year and experienced some unexpected side effects. Weaning from breastfeeding can have side effects including, but not limited to: pms, depression, sadness related to life change, anxiety, extreme fatigue, shame about food, attachment issues, increased sex drive, heart palpitations, rage, irregular periods, skin changes, migraines.
Post weaning depression here. I’m so weepy and irritable. Ugh night sweats, can’t sleep, and just on permanent pms attitude. You ladies made me smile!
Thank you for posting this vid! I was definitely feeling the “mom guilt”. Other women look at me horrified when I would say something authentic like, I’m feeling rejected and so detached. (Aloof to protect my own feelings from the hormonal grief.) My little one is self weaning very quickly. I feel snappy, impatient, weepy, unable to focus, and depressed with it sometimes. Thank you for normalizing the hormonal shift! ❤❤❤
Thank you for this! My baby just turned 2 and I am on the journey of cold Turkey weaning. She seems to be fine but by day 4 I noticed a shift in my mood! I felt like giving in and contemplating if it made the right choice! I’m not alone! Thank you
