I remember going to Vic Park or Downtown alot and hunting the Charlies stall every time, not because who was behind it but because the juice was fresh and outstanding. Still drink Charlies today as my number one go to drink, mainly the lemon drink now
On one hand Mark says he wanted a 100 million dollar company and sold his company for millions and clearly chased the money. On the other says don’t chase money and people who do will never get it.
I believe you'll find that chasing a number for your company and chasing for yourself are two different things. He also said that money IS a byproduct of having fun, and in this life if you can have fun in what you're doing then you are winning and if that fun brings other rewards that's a bonus, I've had fun and made money and I've had fun and not made money, but the one constant is, I'VE HAD FUN. :)
hi mate i loved your time in Otago and at Carisbrook, they where magic years and i will never forget them ever. you epitomized the Otago spirit very special, thankyou. but i was so disgusted with the crowd on the terraces when you came down and played in the blues side, and they chanted that song .hope you have forgiven us mate.
@@haircutexperience I actually went to Wgtn college with Marc so paid attention. I’ve lived in Japan for 26 years. I’m close to suntory management and asked them what they thought at the time. You had the earthquake so they Asahi was looking overseas sourcing and then added the possibility of using it to access the markets that they might not have access to at the time.
He over simplifies things when talking about money won't make you happy. Wealth can allow you more time with family and friends once you have reached a certain point and stop chasing it from there . I'm sure family lives would be better if people were not working double shifts but I do understand what he's trying to say
Not much lucky about starting a juice company. You put yourself in position to receive luck and if these guys hadn’t started a juice company he wouldn’t have got lucky. No one sitting on their arse is going to end up with a juice company. Luck or no luck
We need more people like Marc Ellis pushing this much better message to all
Good on him, and also the last bit, well said Marc

Good man Ellis! Respect bro!! 👍👍
Very small market in in NZ. Arano was doing fresh juice before them with arguably a better product. But good luck to them.
Yea i liked Arano juice, better than charlies
Also timing, The eathquake in Japan made Asahi look to invest outside of Japan
Spot on there!

In summary, it's who you know not what you know. Love his outlook on family though.
Luckiseverything we are never in control you can only decide to play your hand as best as you can.

You’ve lost my respect on your family comments. I think you’re out of touch . Comes across as racist and arrogant .
