I was fortunate enough to see and hear John twice in concert. Once with U.K. and once with Asia. I've followed his career since. I miss him. He was an influence on me as a musician and I miss him. Great Christmas gift for myself. Thank you for the video.
The timing on this couldn't be better for me. John Wetton is my favorite musician and my girl just bought me a bass for Christmas and is encouraging me to play again. Thanks for yet another great video!!
John Wetten was an amazing virtuoso and composer. His last Box set comprising of his Studio Albums is a valued part of my Collection. Not really sure if i need about 30 live CDs of him though.
Thank you for the great unboxing and review of this exquisite box set of a phenomenal... arguably the best prog vocalist... my favorite alongside Greg Lake. Thank you. I guess Xmas has indeed come early. Haha.
I attended the Progfest 97. May 1997 held at the Variety Arts theater ,Civic Center Los Angeles, California Memorial day weekend 1997. It was a great festival. Martin Orford was in top form as his keyboard player!
I only saw John Wetton play once - the Asia comeback in 2006. There was a moment in the 90s when I was passing the Astoria in London, and he was playing that night with the support of The David Cross Band. So sorry I didn't go - in the heat of the moment!
Sold! I subscribed. I like what you have to say and I don't just subscribe to things because then I have to sort through them all. I just didn't realize that you're trying to make a living on all this. Even me subscribing and liking as many videos as I can will be lucky to get you a cup of coffee. That's if you don't add any flavor syrup to it. So if it really matters that much. I would like to do that a little bit and add to the support of the algorithms. You're all right man.
Point taken. It's hard to make a business out of this. I'm sure you get a dollar or something if someone buys something from your links. That's a tough way to make a living man. That's really not lost on me that's so I'll make sure that I put a little more effort into liking your videos of which I really like. Red is a good crimson record. One of the best. So here in the USA, it's open and rolling time for those of us who are crippled and blind as of myself. I have to change insurance companies. My current insurance company for medical trips will only let me take one trip to the mortuary and they won't let me bring a friend!
I have many of these discs which were released during the 90s, some are excellent but have to say some are iffy and the set lists are very similar especially on the acoustic sets. Love John his best years were without doubt King Crimson, if you have the Crimson live sets that's the best of John IMO.
John was an amazing singer and bassist. His time in KC was what that band needed. Asia sadly was 3 Prog legends and on New Waver (even though Downes is in Yes) wanking off.
Of all the musicians I have distant musical-family-tree relationships with, I never really looked into John Wetton much. I suppose I should rectify that. (I played with Los Racketeeros (only live, not on the album) which starred Charlie Whitney from Family.)
There's an acoustic version of Heat Of The Moment by Wetton on Steve Hackett's live in Tokyo album. Not sure if that's the same track. It is brilliant.
This looks nice. But I noticed that the setlists in this boxset covering 5 or 6 shows in 1994-97 are pretty static. Brace yourselves for a whole lot of Heat of the Moment, Rendez-vous 6.02 and Starless.
One of the plane make up to disc highlights edition of something like this. It's a lot even for the serious fan I say it. Plus I didn't get mine for free like you did, sir.
I don't get this stuff for free, I get it sent to review on a platform it has taken me years and years to build up. They are effectively buying a slot on my channel. This is now a business, I am self-employed and pay tax on everything I earn from the channel... But if you are a fan of John's, I really think you will like this, plus it is just volume one, so more to come
I suppose you're not wasting your time on this us capital mono beetles box set I'm not. Why are we reissuing inferior things and touting a two LP interview disc which was shunned for half a century and making a big deal about it. They might as well add that VJ interview disc as a third bonus one as far as I'm concerned. What garbage!
One of my all time favorite bass players. His work with King Crimson inspired me to start playing fender basses.
Nice review.. John Wetton is greatly missed by many classic rock music fans. 🎸
Many thanks mate. Wetton is so deserving of this and your appreciation only adds to the distinction. Cheers!
My pleasure!

Anything Wetton was involved in was magical. Thanks Mine is on the way
Loved Asia and still do criminally underrated band
The trilogy of King Crimson records featuring him are my favorites.
Thanks Barry! I had no idea this was coming out. It will be mine.
Hope you enjoy it!
Automatic purchase. Thanks! RIP John
Absolutely fabulous musician. Recommend all the Crimson live sets to which he contributed bar none.
There have been these huge sets, but way too pricy. I'd love 'the road to red' that would be excellent

Glad you like it!
Yes, I’m going to ask for it for Christmas!!! 🎶🎶🎶🎶
Ordered.
I have the UK and Road to Red boxsets both featuring JW.
Great music !
Wetton fan when in Family,K.C. & Roxy. Asia, like Blind Faith were supergroup only in name in my view.
Marvellous video, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it

Just talking to a friend about the band U.K. the other day. He had never heard of them.

You have to be very selective with some of these boxsets having regard to cost etc but this one looks fantastic. Long term Crimson fan.

Shame no blu ray with video content but still very nice!
Are these the same cds Voiceprint published during the ‘90s? Are any of these recordings unreleased?
Whoops, lost me at Asia 🤔
What's the issue with Asia?... soothing melodies and gorgeous harmonics.
