I was in high school when she first came out in the mid 90's and knowone really knew what to make if her. I knew she was going to be a monster because my parents (who were born in the 40's) thought her music was a throwback and incredibly refreshingly. On and on was just too funky back in the day. I don't think we really understood we were witness to true greatness back then as we do now.

What's crazy is i tried to watch the whole award show on here and it didn't include the whole set we see here which i was confused about. I thought it was kind of lame that it may have been cut short for TV. I didn't watch it on Tv when it premiered. So was it cut short then as well???

I'm 49 and I've been dreaming of seeing Badu perform live since the '90s when I first fell in love with her live album. This Friday I finally get to do it, and I'm more than happy to do a 3 hour drive just to get there. She's one of the few artists who still makes me feel the same enthusiasm for music as I did as a teenager. So damned excited!!!
